So how did she bring up her three amazing kids now young adults?
So What's the story behind this mums ethos on bringing up kids and then eventually opening up a child care business that supports this ethos...
In the beginning, Janthea and her husband Steve Brigden had well established acting careers. After starting their family, they became increasingly frustrated with being unable to source childcare to attend auditions.
Janthea realised that leaving children in someone else’s care was a huge leap of faith and parents needed to be able to trust and relax, to enjoy the event they were attending. A gap in the market was spotted for mobile/event childcare and Nipperbout was born.
Nipperbout was conceived in 1992 and has grown from a boutique family business to a nationally recognised, award winning company that cares for over 10,000 children a year.
As well as starting her own business, Janthea delivered courses to parents and professionals for Parent Line Plus (a national family support charity). This experience proved invaluable when developing the philosophies and services of Nipperbout as it is today.
Since inception, Nipperbout have provided childcare for a huge range of blue chip clients, many of whom have remained with them from the start. This demonstrates the benefits of strong values, excellent standards and the ability to keep ahead of industry developments.
Today, Nipperbout have cemented their place as industry leaders with their numerous awards and endorsements. 2017 sees exciting plans to roll out the international business and the launch of new Nipperbout Training modules – making events everywhere happier and safer places to be.

Pushing her little bike up the hill to speak to a bunch of unhappy holiday makers in Zakynthos, She came to a decision that would change her destination forever.
After working a stupendous amount of hours, drinking and partying hard, she decided to leave her holiday rep career behind and took up a position of a police officer at a control room.

What does it mean for a 6 year old young girl not to have her own bedroom?
This little girl had never experienced such a thing until one afternoon, when she walked into a room of her landlord’s little daughter of about the same age. She was mesmerised by the beautiful colours of butterflies and a huge bed that dominated the room. Then the landlord’s little daughter told her off for touching something. She was furious, and couldn't wait for her Mum to get home so she could would go and have words with this rude little person…
But her Mum said they were renting a room from these people, and they just needed to take it on the chin and get on with their lives. It was a devastating answer for this little girl. But it was also the start of her learning to become resilient – and quickly.
She never complained after that incident and accepted all that was thrown at her. As soon as she was old enough, she got a job at Tescos on the tills and from that moment onwards her life changed forever.
This little girl grew up to become smart, capable business woman with a clear vision and a clear head. My guest this week is called Su Patel
So, who is Su Patel?
Given her deprived background, and a childhood characterised by bullying, isolation, poor self-esteem and divorced parents (at a time when divorce was taboo in the Indian community), the question is, how did she get from the tills to creating an HR department?
She financed her own way through HR training and with her strong dedication and intelligent skills she enabled Tesco to develop engaged staff and a thriving business.
Businesses grow when people grow! Su coaches and train ambitious HR professionals who may be struggling to move up the ladder, and she helps businesses be proactive in how they lead people ensuring that employees are valued in the workplace.
Today Su is a senior consultant at HR Training and Consulting Ltd, partnering with businesses and working as part of their HR team. If you’d like to get in contact with Su on facebook and linkedIn.
My guest this week tells us her story of being bullied every single day at school, badly enough to force her to leave school at the tender age of 13. The effect of being bullied meant that she became a recluse, too frightened to leave the house for several years. In this podcast we find out how she transformed herself from the low confidence she suffered following her ordeal, to becoming a very successful beauty expert and businesswoman.
Now the owner and founder of the KG Professional brand of lash products, Katie Godfrey opened her salon in 2009 when she was just 19. Since then, now based in Luton, England, it has become a highly successful and popular business running alongside her own training academies. Katie has also launched her own range of lash products including lash trays, glues and accessories that are sold to many lash artists and salons in the UK and worldwide.
In addition, she is a business mentor as well as giving talks around the country about her story, and how passionate she is about motivating others to build their careers.
Don’t miss this opportunity to meet Katie in my podcast where she talks frankly about how she creates work-life balance, feeling guilty for not spending enough time with her beautiful daughter and finding the right partner.
If you would like to speak to Katie, book her for a speaking gig or simply just want to say hello, you’ll find her as Katie Godfrey on social media, and on her website.
