  • Putting Life & Death in Context: Finding Peace with Mortality

The reason for this conversation is to allow us to reflect on our new year resolutions and the pace with which we set things in motion without a moment’s consideration that this life we live is impermanent. If we were mindful of this point, it should allow us a space or place where we are fully present, living moment by moment. Being fully present alleviates anxiety and worry. After all, we experience miracles living in the now, in the present moment. Living in the past and future often heighten our worries and anxieties and we constantly play old and unrealized events in our minds, often inhibiting our creativity.

We must bring into our awareness that there is always an ebb and flow in our life experiences. There is always movement. When you say “my death is certain,” you are acknowledging that every single thing in this world comes into existence, stays for a while, and then dissipates again. No one is exempt from this natural order of things.

As you contemplate this, and say to yourself, “the time of my death is uncertain,” you acknowledge that you cannot know the future. Anything can happen at any moment. Our lives are so fragile, and precious as if with a flash of lightning, this one life could end at any moment. Generate a deep deep gratitude for the fact that you are here. So rejoice for this opportunity, this one breath.

Recall that no matter how many friends you have, no matter how many people love you, no matter the family gathered around, when it’s time, we will leave this world on our own. Also recall that no matter how many things you have accumulated no matter how much money you have in the bank, no matter how much you’ve surrounded yourself with the comforts of this world, none of it can go with you, when it’s time for you to leave this world. The only thing that can help you in that moment will be your stability of mind. Plan accordingly.

    Many blessings!

  • Being the Best Version of Ourselves in 2024!

    Happy New Year Beautiful Ladies!

I wish you the very best of everything coming up this year and as we navigate this adventurous journey, I hope that we will all find within us the power to rise up to our full potential. Our topic for this episode is Being the Best Version of Ourselves in 2024.

Practicing mindfulness is key to our success. What we are able to do is to develop a different type of relationship to a specific goal, where we eventually feel at ease with it, and potentially, even start to embrace it as a way to understanding the mind.

This is about living on your own terms. This is about choosing how awake and present we want to be for the life we’re living right now. This is about enhancing our presence, our wisdom, our compassion, and our effect on the world inside of us and outside of us to the absolute best of our ability.

Happy New Year and to the best versions of ourselves!

  • Rise Up: Reclaiming Your Strength & Personal Power

We are entering the Golden Age. Metaphorically, the Golden Age is a period of great progress, positivity, prosperity and happiness. And so I will use this last episode of the year 2023 to reflect on what we have accomplished in all the conversations we have had this year and what we can look forward to in the new period of abundance and happiness.

This episode is titled RISE UP!

I chose this title because I see life as this circuitous journey, that keeps us learning new life lessons, growing in wisdom, sometimes falling and having to dust ourselves off the ground and keep going.

    Poems:

    RISE UP! by Rumi

I love Rumi poems and especially this poem. But there is one thing that stood out to me every time I read it. I'd like to insert your names in the lines like Rumi did with Moses, Mohammed, Jesus Christ, Abraham.

Part the waters with your staff – you are today’s Magdalena.

Tear through the cloak of fog! You are of the light, the same light as Mother Mary.

Shatter the mirrors of the beautiful, you are the dazzling Isis.

Blow the breath of life like Sofia – you, too, are of that air.

    My poem I AM:

I am a woman born in the image of the goddess

with infinite wisdom, beauty and grace.

I am a woman who has grown up and known

    the depths of darkness

losing my virginity through brutality but yet it did not

taint or dwindle my feminine power.

I am a woman who was blessed in that moment and arose to

experience the energy that connects me to Gaia and Spirit.

I am a woman who knows that no amount

of torture, ridicule can change the natural flow

of energy that fertilizes my heart.

I am a woman fiercely loyal to causes that uphold

    the dignity of all women.

And as a woman, I recognize the love, unity and friendship

that binds all women to the goddess.

I am a proud mother, aunt, daughter and sister

who relates to the vastness of a woman’s love.

    I am a special woman in a man’s world,

born to be adored by my lover.

I yield my soul to the glory of Spirit

that I may proclaim in praise of the sacred that

I am above all else a goddess.

    Many blessings!

Thank you again for a fabulous year!

  • Practicing Patience... Beyond the Holidays!

Hello there! I'm so happy to have the opportunity to be with you again. I know the this time of year, as exciting as it could be, can also be very stressful for many. Holiday shopping, family gatherings, and work often add to our stresses and anxieties. We often feel boxed in to old ways of doing things and fulfilling expectations that things would remain the same. This meditation of increasing patience, managing time and communicating effectively is meant to help you to step away from the hustle and stay centered. So let's begin.

You want to improve your communication with others, manage your time wisely and easily, and increase your patience. In order to do these you must become very relaxed and then focus on what it is that you desire to achieve. So say to yourself, “I intend to have good patience, communicate effectively with others and manage my time easily and wisely...”

    Happy Holidays!

Thank you again for a fabulous year!

  • Making Prayer Work: Practical Tools for Spiritual Connection

    MAKING PRAYER WORK!

This episode is a follow up to Episode 59 where I talked about prayer and the fact that it works!

I like the quiet moments of conversation, of listening to the inner whispers, of acknowledging the communication centers including my gut for insight, knowingness, and pure unadulterated intelligence that flows to me. I am sharing my native, traditional prayer format — the libation..

The most common or frequently used ritual of prayer in the Akan tradition is the pouring of libation. This is done on different occasions, including naming ceremonies, rites of passage (e.g., puberty, birthdays, weddings, graduations), funerals and mourning rites, and traditional festivals. The libation or prayer acknowledges Nana Nyame—God, Twereduampong—The Omnipotent God, Eno Asaase Yaa—Mother Earth, and the ancestors. It asserts faith and expresses gratitude for what has been accomplished by Nyame’s grace. The prayers also make several declarations of wealth earned or to be earned for the clan; they affirm good health, protection from evil, and blessings for the young children born to expand the lineage. The closing remarks ask for more blessings for the specific occasion and for all future endeavors.

    A Prayer

Nana Nyame, Twereduampong, Bo Adee—wo nsa nie. Eno Asaase ya, yewo nkwa mu a yedan wo, yewo owuo mu a yedan wo—wo nsa nie oo. Asuo Bosompo—wo nsa nie. Asuo . . . wo nsa nie oo. Nananon Adinkanfuo, momegye nsa. Asusumpa, Abofopa a mowo apuee, ato benkum ne nifa mo nso mo nsa nie. Abusua ahoroo nyinaa momegye nsa. Mo nim nea enti a mefre mo nanso yeeka bio—Mo na mo se “ka na ka bio yenkyi.”

Me da mo ase se mo ama me atukwan afa asuo Bosompo so, ma metumi akyere adee a yen Nananom akyere yen.

Obaatanpa, Nana Nyame, Me Nananom, Asumsumpa ne Abofopa, nsa oo, nsa, nsa!

    Translation:

God, Great Tree on which we lean, Creator—here is your drink. Mother Earth, we depend on you while living, we depend on you when we die—here is your drink. Bountiful deity of the sea—here is your drink. River, here is your drink. Grand Ancestors, come and get your drink. Benevolent Spirits and Messengers from the East, North, West, and South— here is your drink, too.

All various clans, come get your drink. You know why I am calling you, but you taught that repetition is not taboo.

I thank you for allowing me to travel across the bountiful sea, to share what the Great Ancestors taught us. I thank you for the blessing of mind, heart, and strength to complete this work. I pray for unlimited blessings for those who bring their minds, hearts, and strength to this project.

I pray that you let my presentation honor you and be a good one. I pray that everything would end joyfully and peacefully. God, Good Mother, My Great Ancestors, Benevolent Spirits and Good Messengers, Drink, drink, drink!"

The prayer is representative of the format of libations, where all the Akan concepts about the Supreme Being, Mother Earth, Spirits, Deities, Ancestors, Directions, are addressed and thanked before any supplication. The prayer ends by acknowledging the presence of All, and always with an offering of a drink, usually clear liquid, like water or gin.

The idea is to create a prayer in your own words, using a format that resonates with you, and express the desire you have and commit to having a conversation with the God in You! It has been suggested that using your mother-tongue is even more powerful. You will feel a shift in how you activate all the divine archetypes and centers within you to really respond to you as the unique, magnificent being that you are!

Remember, you are woman of power and grace. Let no one say otherwise.

    Thank you!

  • Miracle-Making Time: Manifesting Abundance & Grace

In my last episode, I talked about the Presence and dropped a few lines of I AM statements we can affirm that will bring us alive to serve the world. We can express our magnificence beyond the roles we play daily, assert our essence as divine beings, and limitless as we walk this earth.

I also talked about miracles happening in my life and how awesome they felt, just pure jaw-dropping awesomeness. When we attune to the field of miracles, we see how the Divine intervenes in our daily challenges and struggles. If we could just move out of our own way!

I recently was reading the I AM Discourses by Godfrey Ray King and one affirmation stood out to me—probably because I needed a miracle to happen that day to enable me to shift to the reality desired.

    It says:

“I AM the miracle, and I AM the Presence compelling its manifestation through Divine Love, wisdom and power.”

It is obvious that manifestation of miracles do happen when we are able to hold state for the improbable. We often look at something outside of us to come and bring us the things we desire. This affirmation tells us that we are IT. We compel its occurrence through Divine love, wisdom and Power.

We must put ourselves in the field for the manifestation to occur. This means, that firstly we must drop all the undesirable relationships and situations that hold us back, that keep us small. If you have been praying, and you have tried so many different approaches to no avail, please re-center yourself and start over with new energy.

We are energy and the scriptures tell us that we are made in the image of God, which means that we have the same “flux out of which God created the world!” We are here to co-create with God. To achieve this, we must have faith that has no limits. We must create channels for expansion. The universe expands and creates something new out of a single word. We cannot stand still. We cannot continue to choose to play it safe.

    Collier notes:

“With us ordinary mortals, however, sooner or later comes a crisis in our affairs, and how we meet it determines our future happiness and success. Since the beginning of time, every form of life has been called upon to such crises. So the goal of life has always been DOMINION—a means of overcoming...

The purpose of Life from the very beginning has been dominion——dominion over every adverse circumstance. And through his part of dominion, his nerve-cell in the Mind of God and his ability through it to get whatever action he may persistently demand—man HAS dominion over everything.”

One solid practice I have used and recommend——is to make a Covenant with the Holy Spirit. I know it is old fashioned but it works miracles. Covenant with the Holy Spirit for your life, for health, strength, support, defense, perfect thinking, right speech, and for your joyous song of life.

Remember always, you are a Woman of Power and grace and you are the miracle, and the presence, compelling its manifestation through divine love, wisdom and power.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If you’d like to know how to set up a covenant, please drop me a line. I appreciate you sharing our podcasts with friends and family.

    ““Affirmation:

“And every morning I will say, There’s something happy on the way. And God sends love to me. God is the light of my life, the Source of my knowledge and inspiration. God in the midst of me knows. He provides me with food for my thoughts, ideas for excellent service, clear perception, Divine intelligence.”

  • Shining Your Light: Embracing Your Authentic Power

What Does the World Need? The world needs you to come alive!

One of my favorite songs for children is “This Little Light of Mine.. I know there are many versions out there, But I will pick Sam Cooke’s version anytime! This episode’s title is about Shining our Light!

There are currently about over 20 plus wars going on, all being fought on many different fronts. The outrage for me is how women and children are the ones that suffer the most from the casualties of war. They continue to use weapons of mass destruction, often ignoring the common sense, peaceful tools available to all of us.

How can we counter that? We cannot engage on the same low frequencies that create these situations. Creatively, we can choose to engage differently and spiritually … By knowing what makes us really come alive; noticing the circumstances that light us up from the inside and make us shine. What the world needs now is for people, for you and me to come alive.

I believe in the human capacity to do good. I believe in the empowerment of self and that if we can generate that inner power and goodness, we can overcome anything together. It is imperative that we choose a cause to serve humanity in some capacity, and because there is power in numbers, we can effect change. Helplessness and hopelessness are not options!

This is a call to all those who feel that this human condition can be improved. That is the love of God, of Christ Jesus, of the Buddha, of Allah and of many cosmic beings of light who endow our experience with love. Let us bring forth, as part of our spiritual journey, growth, and healing, a deep love and mercy that touch the souls of the “other.”

You can assert certain truths about who you truly are: a divine being having a physical experience.

When you feel discouraged, say this:

I am all that is known

I am all that is unknown

I am in the drops of the tear

I am in the grain of sand

    I am in the seer

    I am seen

I am in the unborn and in the undying

I am the one who is born

I am the one who dies

I am beyond time, yet I am found in time

I am totality and so are you

I am the sun, the moon and the stars,

    Infinity, I Am

    Eternity, I Am

    Immortality, I Am!

Loop back around and feel You are the Presence. And by shining our light, we as women of power and grace, can change the world, one woman one light, one love, at a time.

  • Prayer Works: Building a Daily Spiritual Practice

    “WHAT IS PRAYER?

“But the stars throng out in their glory,

    And they sing of the God in man;

They sing of the mighty Master,

Of the loom His fingers span,

Where a star or a soul is part of the whole,

And weft in the wondrous plan.”

    —ROBERT SERVICE

If you would know the surest way of speeding up your rate of motion, and overtaking the things you desire, try PRAYER!

But when I say “prayer,” I don’t mean the begging kind. I don’t mean a lot of vain repetitions that seldom have the attention even of the one repeating them, much less of the Lord. Go to the Bible, and you will learn how to pray.

Out of 600,000 words in the Old Testament, only six, when literally translated, mean to “ask for” things in prayer, and each of these six is used but once.

Against that, the word “palal” is used hundreds of times to signify “to pray.” And “palal” means—“To judge yourself to be a marvel of creation; to recognize amazing wonders deep within your soul.”

Wouldn’t that seem to indicate that prayer was meant to be a realization of the powers deep within[…]”

  • Changing Your Perspective on Pain

Pain can overwhelm us not only physically but mentally. When pain gets out of hand, it can become part of our identity or even consume our entire sense of self, having entire days revolving around the pain. Your very life becomes dedicated to pain, yet pain is something everyone wants to get rid of. So why does this happen and how can you get your life back when pain has become so unbearable?

In this episode, we are going to look at the root causes of pain and how to shift perspective and heal. Pain alerts you that something needs attention. If you have a traumatic injury, the pain tells you the wound needs to be mended. But what’s happening with chronic pain that continues for years and consumes your mind, is that the source of the pain is not being mended, and the alarm is constantly sounding out.

Our minds are very intelligent, as well as our bodies.

When there is something important in our mind that we don’t acknowledge, push away, and do not tend to, the only option our mind executes is to alert the body though pain. So instead of thinking that there is something wrong in your body, ask instead, what needs to be addressed in the mind? Perhaps you are working a job that brings you down but you don’t like to admit it. Maybe you are in an unhappy relationship that you continue to sit stagnantly in.

Or you could even be in a very happy relationship, but you have allowed too many burdens and responsibilities on yourself in an attempt to please everyone else but you. Unresolved upsets in your life manifest as body pains until you do something about them. They are alerts that you have gone beyond your instinctual boundaries and are not speaking your truth. So instead of asking what’s wrong with your body when you experience pain, ask what in your mind is screaming for your attention, but you continue to disregard and push away.

Hopefully, you will recognize from now on, your entire thinking about pain has changed. In order to fully understand the true meaning behind pain, we must change our perspective on it and embrace new approaches to healing.

  • Filling Your Cup Meditation

In this meditation, we are going to practice filling our own cups with gratitude, expressing thanks along with all of the living things around us.

The fountain inspires us to appreciate the gifts in our life. This fountain never goes dry so long as we keep gratitude alive in our hearts. Feel the water flowing through your body inspiring even more gratitude to arise within you. Envision your life perking up and blossoming with renewed energy. Breathing easily, simply enjoy your time in this garden for the next few moments, peaceful and relaxed.

Always remember that you can return to this garden whenever you would like to fill your cup with gratitude.

    Many blessings!
