  • MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 38.
Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the lads. George’s Dad has tested positive for Covid (don’t worry, he doing much better). Plus Duckman has been struggling with his mood and mental health. It’s never a bad thing to admit this stuff and talk it out with someone if you can. Thankfully this show is a lifeline for both the lads this week and putting aside real life to talk about wrestling for a few hours is good for the soul. The lads kick off with talk about the recent passing of Reggie Parks, a former wrestler and the man responsible for the design of every title belt in all the major promotions from the 70s to the 2000s. A true unsung hero of the wrestling business.

Duckman has uncovered some ridiculous stories about wrestlers on the road and the ribs they would pull on each other. Some are super cruel and dangerous, others are stupid and funny. Of course, Owen Hart proves once again to be the king of prank phone calls. There’s a ton of AEW chat as the lads discuss the move by WWE to counter programme Rampage this week and how this tactic from WWE reeks of desperation. The lads talk Hangman Page’s return, Sammy Guevara’s TNT Title win, the new Women’s TBS Title announcement, plus a quick look back at some of the main highlights in AEW over the last couple of weeks.

The show is wrapped up with the return of the Random Retro PPV Review! This week it’s WCW Halloween Havoc 1993. It’s another wild WCW show from their pre-Hogan era. We’ve got some incredible matches with Paul Orndorff vs. Ricky Steamboat, Sid vs, Stingm Dustin Rhodes vs. Steve Austin and Lord Steven Regal vs. Davey Boy Smith. There’s some terrible match layouts and booking in the Ric Flair vs. Rick Rude match and the main event Texas Death Match between Vader and Cactus Jack. Nick Patrick once again proves he’s the worst referee of all time. Jesse and Tony aren’t their usual spiky selves on commentary, but it’s still a fun time. The show tails off a lot with the last two matches, but it’s a fun watch and like we always say with WCW, the show is never boring. If you like these retro reviews, remember you can check out our WWF Saturday Night Main Event review shows over on our Patreon. This is a big ass show, covering a ton of ground, with plenty of laughs along the way.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

This is the closest the lads have ever come from dying due to laughter. And it’s all thanks to Hulk Hogan’s Lies. The lads go through an epic Twitter thread detailing Hulk’s most famous and outrageous lies. We’ve got Andre lies, fighting lies, political lies, weird suicide lies and so many more LIES! The lad’s get far too worked up with all the lies, brother. But god damn is it a fun time!

Of course, this is a pro wrestling podcast, so the chat has to get a bit dark. Dark Side of the Ring and the Plane Ride from Hell has made some big headlines recently. The lads discuss the episode, the fall out from it, and Duckman shares a few other insane WWE plane ride stories with George, mostly involving Vince McMahon being a maniac. The lads also talk the Owen Hart/AEW announcement and the usual weird reaction on Twitter to the announcement.

Tons of AEW chat as the lads looks back over Dynamite and Rampage. Two excellent TV shows, with Omega vs. Danielson being the greatest TV match either Duckman or George have ever seen. They go in-depth on the shows, the finishes, where certain angles might be going next. It’s basically just a super positive chat about a promotion that are really hitting their stride. The show is wrapped up with your mailbag questions answered. Plenty of fun topics and questions here from you good folks, so thank you to everyone who submitted mailbag questions.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

AEW. That’s it basically. All Out was an all time great PPV and Duckman, George and special guest Marc Abrigo go in-depth on All Out! All the matches and finishes are discussed in detail, plus the debuts, the new music and the all round awesome level of fun all three had watching this show. Honestly, there’s not much else to say this week, it’s really just all AEW chat. Come and listen to three friends enjoying pro wrestling again for a couple of hours and having a god damn good laugh along the way.

  • MFXtra: 3 Pints with Betty – Ep 27.
Welcome one and welcome all, the bar is open, the drinks are poured, so raise a glass to all the biggest nerd news stories of the past couple of weeks. Join your heroes Duckman and Marc Abrigo as they give nerd news and reviews the full 3PB treatment. On the show this week…

It’s been a while since the lads sat down to get their geek on together and they are hitting the ground running on this big return show. Of course, they have to kick off with Cat Chat. Marc has learned that you can take the cat out of the streets, but can’t take the streets out of the cat. Plus Bill his male cat has been fixed and Marc gives us all the news on what’s happened since the fix was put in.

Away from Cat Chat, Duckman has finally convinced his brother to watch The Expanse and he is hooked. Marc has seen new Marvel movie Shang-Chi, kind of. You know how it goes when Marc goes to the cinema, people were talking AGAIN! One day Marc will get to watch a movie without people spoiling it by talking all the way through. Duckman has been on a trailer watching kick recently, so the lads talk Eternals and Spider-Man No Way Home trailers and let their speculation run wild.

Marc has been getting into Ted Lasso. Duckman has been loving Marvel’s What If…? So they chat about those shows and convince each other to watch the other! The show is wrapped up with a spoiler filled view of The Suicide Squad. The lads LOVED this movie. Such an improvement on the first movie and James Gunn continues to write super funny and smart movies and this one is packed full of fun characters, crazy hyper violence and KING SHARK!! A really fun way to wrap up a fun return to the studio for the 3PB lads.

Two hours of awesome nerd chat, cat chat and tons of laughs. This is a damn fun show, so sit back, grab a drink and relax with some 3PB goodness. Thanks for listening!

Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

We’ve got a weird show this week, or at least a weird opening half. The lads catch up and we learn George has FINALLY sold his flat and bought a new house! This has been driving George and his missus crazy for the last while, so this is big news in the world of Peelo. The lads bond over childhood traumatic memories triggered by songs and Duckman misses a bus in the most pathetic way possible. The lads talk Ronaldo going back to Man Utd and how it completely overshadowed the new of Man City player Bernard Mendy being charged with four counts of rape. The lads ponder (for too long) if Mendy’s offences qualify him for a place in the infamous MFX Nonce 11 football team.

Of course the big news of the week is CM Punk returning to wrestling after seven years with AEW. The lads mark out over everything about Punk’s début, talk all the fall out and reactions, what the future might hold and what kind of shot in the arm Punk’s arrival could have on AEW and wrestling as a whole. This is the biggest story in wrestling for a long time, so the lads spend a decent amount of time covering Punk’s return. It’s safe to say the lads are happy to see him back.

NXT is changing, and not just their logo. Could Takeover 36 be the last of the work rate super indy fed style of NXT? The lads review the show in detail. They love Cameron Grimes and Dakota Kai. Diet Miz and Vic Joseph yelling? Not so much. Plus the crowd sucks and so does the look of the show. But never mind all that, because this show has Duckman’s MOTY on it. Walter vs Ilja Draganov for the NXT UK Title. This match is insane. The hardest hitting, most intense, brutal and compelling match you’ll see anywhere. Incredible. The lads aren’t as hyped by Adam Cole v Kyle O’Reilly or the main event of Samoa Joe v Karrion Kross. It’s still a good show, but just not anywhere near the classic Takeovers of past years.

The show is wrapped up with a review of Summerslam, a show Duckman didn’t watch. That’s right, the man who loves wrestling can’t bring himself to watch WWE’s second biggest show of the year. Luckily George did watch the show and so for the first time, George takes the lead on a review on the show, and does a damn good job, obviously. George walks Duckman through the matches and returns. The lads do have plenty to say about Becky Lynch’s return and Duckman did watch Rollins vs. Edge. It’s a fun way to wrap up a show of epic proportions.

Is Duckman an edible addict or an edible aficionado? This is the question on the lads minds as once again Duckers munches an edible before the show! He thinks it’s fun. Maybe it’s just him! Away from Duckman being irresponsible, George has finally got back to see his beloved Dundee live after over 500 days. The lads are in a football chat mood and get into Football Manager chat – a game they play in two different very different ways. Duckman shares his favourite story from The Olympics, it has nothing to do with any sport, and it’s hilarious. Plus the lads FINALLY announce their new Patreon exclusive series of retro wrestling reviews that will be launching in the next couple of weeks.

It’s been another crazy couple of weeks in pro wrestling. The lads discuss the announcement of the forthcoming scripted TV series ‘The United States of America vs. Vince McMahon’ and how there’s no way this will be a truthful and accurate look back at Vince’s steroid trial. They even lie in the press release announcing the show! The lads talk Bray Wyatt being released by WWE and look back at his career and where he might go next. There’s been controversy with promos this week and the lads have their say on this. Plus tons of other subjects, tangents and general fun pro wrestling chat.

The show is wrapped up this week with mailbag and the lads answer your questions. There’s tons of great stuff here – the lads pick some crazy UK commentators for AEW, when did WWE’s booking get so bad, what is wrestling psychology, favourite Summerslam moments, Hangman Page, CM Punk, Adam Cole and so much more! A really fun way to wrap up the show and thanks to everyone who sent questions in!

Duckman did it again, he ate an edible before recording. Fun times! The lads are sweltering in a heat wave in Scotland, they are not built for this season and the argument could be made this weather is anti-Scottish. Duckman has a PS5 so he’s celebrating obnoxiously about it. The Euros finished since the last show, so that lads talk the horrible racist response from England fans to their players missing penalties. Plus Duckman is having issues pooping in his own home, while being staked by his landlord. It’s a long story.

Don’t worry though, it’s not all the high rambling of a Duck like Man, there’s also TONS of pro wrestling news to cover. So strap in cause we’ve got WWE back with fans, Cena returns, Goldberg returns, Keith Lee returns, Karrion Kross is the vessel for Vince to say ‘fuck you’ to HHH and NXT for losing the ratings war he started with AEW. George actually watched a few WWE shows, so we have a man on the inside for a change.

Over in AEW it’s been super quiet. Oh wait, no it hasn’t, it’s been INSANE. If rumours are to be believed, it’s about to get even more crazy. They’ve had red hot crowds, some great matches, promos and angles. Plus Daniel Bryan and CM Punk signing rumours are running wild. The lads break all this down, with Duckman becoming like a giddy school girl with his marking out over AEW and what the future could hold.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week it’s one of the most important shows in wrestling history – WCW Bash at the Beach 1996. Of course the Hogan heel turn is the only thing on this show anyone remembers. The lads go beyond that historic moment though to talk about how awful pretty much all of this show is. The opener with Rey Mysterio vs. Psychosis is a classic, Dean Malenko puts the beating of a life time on Disco Inferno (which Duckman LOVES), The Nasty Boys and Public Enemy show just how bad wrestling can be (which George HATES). And then there’s the mother of all heel turns! Plus Bobby Heenan and Dusty Rhodes are on commentary. Say. No. More. Another super fun review of a classic show.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Edibles. They’re a hell of thing. Especially when you try to do a podcast, which Duckman does this week. Makes for some fun chat. There’s Euros chat, cookery show chat, Duckman is back in the office, George is having issues with his family embarrassing him in public, and Duckman has managed to score himself a PS5. Fun times folks!

Plenty of wrestling chat as the lads cover more recent WWE releases, the news of Zelina Vega returning to WWE and the ridiculous responses online by some people. A recently fired WWE writer made the news with some really stupid comments on a podcast, so the lads cover this and get into the long running issues around how WWE structure and write their shows. The lads also breakdown the last couple of weeks of AEW news. With lots of chat around the Kenny Omega v Jungleboy match and they look back at AEW’s time in Daily’s Place and how important that venue was to AEW during the pandemic.

The lads answer your questions on what they would do to fix Raw, which football players they would pick to train to be wrestlers, what legacy Dave Meltzer and his generation of wrestling journalists leave behind and where do they fit in the modern world of clickbait and contrarian opinion.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week it’s WCW Bash at the Beach 1995. What a show! The show that took place on an actual beach, in conjunction with the TV show Baywatch. There are some of the worst matches you’ll ever see, some of the dumbest characters and booking decision of all time, and yet the show is amazing! Meng, Sting, Flair, Savage, Hogan and Vader bring it in their own ways. Dave Sullivan, Jim Duggan, The Renegade, and The Nasty Boys continue to astound at how horrible they are. Bobby Heenan and Tony Schiavone put on another masterclass of commentary. A super fun review of a truly bizarre WCW show. There’s nothing better!

The lads are back and ready to talk wrestling! Duckman got super high before the show, so a few tangents and dead ends are negotiated by the lads throughout the show. Hopefully it’s as funny as Duckman found pretty much everything on this show. There’s a full review of NXT Takeover – In Your House, the cosplay, nostalgia show which seems to be aimed squarely at the guys who book the show. It’s a decent Takeover (but one of the weakest they’ve done) and the lads go through all the matches, finishes and marvel at the most annoying man of the 90s (Todd Pettengill) showing more charisma and charm than any of WWE’s robo interviewers.

So. Much. News. The lads talk Samoa Joe’s return to NXT, the futures of Karrion Kross and Bronson Reed, WWE’s plans for the summer and more. There’s loads of AEW news as well as the lads look back on the Hager v Wardlow MMA match, Brock Anderson’s debut and they look forward to Dynamite getting back on the road and the great matches they’ve announced so far. The lads also look back at IMPACT/TNA which celebrated 19 years in business recently. They go through the highs and painful lows of IMPACT down the years and acknowledge that despite all the issues, IMPACT/TNA has been a hugely important part of wrestling and has produced some great talent and moments during the past 19 years.

The show is wrapped up, as always, with the Random Retro PPV and damn we’ve got a fun show this week. It’s WCW Great American Bash 1995. The show which should be renamed The Bobby Heenan Masterclass. Seriously, Heenan is so incredible on this show he basically carried the whole thing. There’s all the usual mid 90s WCW fun – wild crowd, bizarre matches and finishes, tons of superstar talent and a GREAT main event with Ric Flair taking on Randy Savage in a grudge match. We can’t do this show and review justice. It’s just so much damn fun! And Bobby Heenan is the greatest colour commentator of all time. As George puts it on the show “there’s Bobby Heenan and then there’s the rest.”

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.
