  • MFXtra: 3 Pints with Betty – Ep 24.
Welcome one and welcome all, the bar is open, the drinks are poured, so raise a glass to all the biggest nerd news stories of the past couple of weeks. Join your heroes Duckman and Marc Abrigo as they give nerd news and reviews the full 3PB treatment. On the show this week…

Where to start with this show? The only place we can start is with a tribute to another friend of the show who passed away recently, Josh White. He was one of the nicest and coolest guys ever and he will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him.

The lads address the big events in the US recently, mainly Donald Trump and his Vanilla Isis crew and their failed coup attempt. Yeah, it’s not nerd talk, but the lads have to address this crazy situation. Fear not though MFX Galaxy, there’s SO MUCH NERD TALK ON THIS SHOW!!

It’s been a few months since the last show, so the lads talk all things season 2 of The Mandalorian and they discuss all the huge Star Wars related announcements from the Disney investor call. Then Marc’s new cats invade the show and things go off the rails. This proves once again you should never work with children, animals or Abrigos.

With the cats under control the lads get back into nerd chat and discuss all the big Marvel TV and movie announcements and they are SUPER hyped for a lot of what is coming down the pike from Marvel in the next few years. They wrap the show up looking back at some of their and your favourite things in nerd culture in 2020. It’s great to bring 3PB back and hopefully you guys are ready to get your nerd on with us in 2021.

NOTE: The song closing the show this week is for Josh. RIP buddy.

So get listening, get some insights, some laughs and some nerd news goodness. Sit back, relax, and enjoy some 3PB in your life.

  • MFXtra: The Scottish Announce Table – Ep 22.
Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means. The lads pay tribute to the recently passed John Huber (Brodie Lee/Luke Harper), they talk about AEW’s response, the response from the wrestling community as a whole and marvel at how universally loved and respected he was. They unload both barrels on former PW Torch columnist Bruce Mitchell for his tone deaf, click bait, speculating on the death of Huber article and the fall out from that. It’s a tough way to open the show, but hopefully we were able to express our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

The lads try to lighten the mood with some chat about their respective Christmases. Duckman has been spending time with his parents, which is always a fun time. He learns all about an old lady who has an amazing back-story, and his Dad ignores him on Christmas Eve to binge watch a TV show! Then it’s end of year awards time. The lads announce all the big winners and losers, as voted for by the MFX Galaxy. There’s plenty of laughs to be had as George realises maybe he doesn’t have his finger on the pulse of what is popular in wrestling these days.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week it’s one of Duckman’s favourite PPVs of all time – WCW Great American Bash 1989. It’s an absolute riot of a show with awesome matches, crazy characters, the hottest crowd in history and so much great late 80s wrestling the lads nearly lose their minds at the greatness of this show! Flair, Sting, Luger, Muta, Steamboat, Steiners, SID! Just some of the best to ever do this at their peak! A true must watch show and a great way to end the year for SATP.

This has been such a tough week for wrestling, we lost one of the true good guys. The year in general has been an ongoing nightmare. Doing this show has been one of the true highlights for the lads and we thank everyone who listened to and interacted with the show this year. We truly appreciate you all and hope we all have a better year in 2021.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

It’s been a huge couple of weeks in pro wrestling, especially for AEW and the lads have their say on all the big news. They talk Sting’s début, his past in WWE and how AEW will hopefully use him better than WWE did. There’s tons of talk around the Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega AEW World Title match and all the headline grabbing fall out from that match. The lads talk the potential storyline with Kenny, Don Callis and IMPACT Wrestling and where this could go. It’s a damn fun chat about some really interesting developments in AEW.

In WWE the big recent news was the passing of Pat Patterson. The lads discuss his career in the ring, his work with Vince, how important he was to WWF and so many big name stars he worked with. When the lads break it all down, it really is remarkable to look at Patterson’s career and his influence and importance to pro wrestling. The lads also discuss the recent comments by Goldberg, who wants a match with Roman Reigns. Plus CM Punk has been talking about what it would take him to return to the ring and the lads have their say on this.

It’s the end of the year so we’ve got the first ever Scottish Announce Table Podcast Award! The lads discuss the categories and finalise the nominees for all the awards. Then it’ll be up to you guys to vote on the awards and they’ll be announced on the final show of 2020. This is a really fun look back at the best and worst in what has been the weirdest year ever in pro wrestling.

The show is wrapped up with a full review of NXT Takeover. All the matches and finishes are discussed in detail. The lads are confused by the booking of the Women’s War Games Match, mark the hell out for Ciampa vs. Thatcher and the North American Title match. The men’s War Games is covered in detail, it was a hell of a match. But once again the lads have issued with how Pat McAfee is presented and how god damn strong NXT kept him. That said, it was an incredible match that did deliver on the War Games gimmick. It’s a damn fun review of a great show.

This week is a time to be thankful, we’re thankful for this show and every one of you sexy little beasts who listens! Duckman has made the newspapers this week and finds himself involved in a battle of censorship and freedom over his fantasy football team name. Thankfully George is on hand to suggest some truly offensive names for Duckman’s team to replace the one that got banned.

Then it’s on to some good old fashioned wrestling chat as the lads give WWE Survivor Series the full SATP treatment. We’ve got thoughts on this show. Lots of thoughts. One great match, a couple of good ones, a lot of pointless stuff. Plus Vince McMahon scares the crap out of everyone by appearing on camera. The lads also give their thoughts on WWE’s final (yeah right) goodbye to The Undertaker.

Speaking of Vince, he’s been making headlines again with his decision to fire Zelina Vega. The lads discuss this and what it could mean for the future of unionisation is pro wrestling. Plus the lads preview two huge upcoming shows with NXT War Games and AEW Winter is Coming.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV. This week we’re back in the Attitude Era with Rock Bottom 1998. Well, this was a show. A two match show, with one of the most hideous undercards the lads have ever seen. So many crappy matches, terrible finishes and total chaos before two excellent main events with Rock, Austin, Foley and Taker once again proving they were what made the Attitude Era so special. This is a hell of a fun review of a really crappy Russo-riffic show.

Duckman is all about TV shows this week – Community and The Mandalorian. George has been living that new dog Dad life. Plus there’s some quick chat about Trump, don’t worry, it’s only a few minutes before the lads get into some serious pro wrestling chat. AEW Full Gear was a great show, probably the best PPV of the year, so the lads give it the full SATP treatment. All the matches reviewed in detail, finishes, angles, and all that good stuff is covered. Duckman has enough of Grumpy JR on commentary and George has finally spent some money on a wrestling PPV! Yep, the show was so good two Scotsmen actually paid to watch it!

It’s 15 years since the legendary Eddie Guerrero passed away. Eddie was obviously one of the greatest of all time, but he was also one of George’s favourite wrestlers. So George pays tribute to Eddie and the lads discuss his career, his impact on the business and on them personally.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week we are slap bang in the middle of the Attitude Era with Survivor Series 1998. It’s a one night, 14 man, single elimination tournament for the WWE Title, built around the Stone Cold vs. Vince McMahon storyline. It’s a HELL OF A SHOW with terrible matches, really fun commentary, classic Austin, Rock, Vince, Mankind, Undertaker greatness, more double-down spots than any other show in history, and all the other usual mayhem of the Attitude Era. This is another super fun review of a classic show.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Happy Halloween MFX Galaxy! We don’t really have a spooky show for you this week, just tons of prowrestling news, reviews and plenty of laughs. Hear all about Duckman getting baked and having a nightmare time ordering stuff on Amazon that he doesn’t remember. Then it’s wrestling chat time. The lads give WWE Hell in a Cell the SAT treatment – full review of all the matches, finishes, angles and all that good stuff. The show was decent, the review is tremendous.

One of the true good guys in pro wrestling – Tracy Smothers – passed away this week, so the lads pay tribute to him and marvel at footage of him wrestling a bear from back in the day! The lads discuss the news that Netflix will be making a documentary about Vince McMahon, plus the reaction of WWE stars who have been forced by Vince to close their Twitch streams and also give him the rings on their fingers and the fillings in their teeth. There’s some chat around the recent investor call and Duckman wonders if WWE’s house show tour could soon be a thing of the past.

The lads preview AEW Full Gear PPV, they run down the matches, the build to each and agree that whatever you say about AEW, they know how to build to a PPV! The show is wrapped up as always with an all time classic Random Retro PPV Review! This week it’s Halloween Havoc 1998, one of the most WCW PPVs ever. The show ran long when it originally aired and most fans didn’t see the Goldberg v DDP main event. The lads can’t believe this when the show is packed full of important stuff like Nitro girls dancing, a three hour Rick Steiner angle that makes NO SENSE, TWO Disco Inferno matches, pointless squash matches, stupid finishes that make NO SENSE, and one of the WORST MATCHES EVER with Hogan v Warrior. Good god this show was bad, but so much fun to review. The perfect way to end the show and begin your Halloween celebrations.

Shock, horror – Vince McMahon is being a money grabbing shit bag and treating his talent like garbage. He’s now looking to essentially take money out of their pockets, via their Twitch and Cameo accounts, which WWE are now taking control of. The lads discuss this latest development, how it effects the talent, what it might mean for future unionisation of talent, the independent contractor issue, and Andrew Yang’s latest comments on this situation.

It’s one year since AEW launched and the lads talk the past year of AEW and in particular the positive impact the company has had on the wrestling industry. There’s also some chat around Retribution and the big reveal of their leader this week on RAW. The lads discuss this and have more fun with silly Retribution names. The WWE Draft is coming up this week, so the lads steal a spreadsheet from someone and go through the Raw and Smackdown roster looking at who might be drafted where. Going through the rosters really does show how little main event or star talent WWE actually have on their books at the moment. So. Many. Midcarders. It’s 30 years of Chris Jericho in the wrestling business this week, so the lads discuss Jericho’s career, where he stands in the list of all time greats and what makes him so special. They also answer a listener email on Jericho and his recent attitude towards BLM and COVID.

The show is wrapped up with a review of NXT Takeover 31. All the matches, finishes, angles and potential future matches are covered. The lads discuss the new setting for NXT and wonder just who this throwback to the Capital Wrestling Corporation is supposed to appeal to. There’s tons of audio issues with fake crowd noise, nerds banging on plexiglass, and for some bizarre reason, stunt double commentators at ringside. That said, the lads did really enjoy this show. There wasn’t a bad match on the card and the main event was a match of the year contender. A really fun review of a fun show.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.

Another jam packed show for you guys this week. The lads pay tribute to the recently passed Road Warrior Animal, they cover the latest COVID outbreaks in WWE and AEW, plus the lads marvel at the pure ridiculousness of the Retribution storyline and their bizarre names. The lads come up with their own Retribution names and have a damn good laugh in the process.

This show was recorded before Clash of Champions, so the lads instead preview NXT Takeover 31, plus cover all the most recent news from NXT and AEW TV.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review! This week, ECW Heatwave 1998 is in the firing line.  This is the first ECW PPV George has watched. It’s peak ECW so time for chairs, tables, blood, boobs, cursing, chairs, tables, head bumps, boobs, chairs, convoluted finishes, tables, head bumps, boobs and so much more! Also some great matches and moment of a show that was certainly never boring, A super fun review to end the show!

A big week for AEW with their All Out PPV and the lads are here with a god damn deep dive on this show. The good, the bad, and the ugly get the full SATP treatment. Everything from the commentary, to the big angles, matches, and controversies of the show are covered in detail. A super detailed and fun review of a very polarising show.

A few big news stories are covered, with Vince doing Vince stuff and screwing over his roster, Roman Reigns is a Paul Heyman guy, Mauro Ranello is an awesome guy, and Marty Jannetty is just a damn weird guy. Good times!

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review! This week, WCW Starcade 1993. That’s right, we’re back in early 90s WCW and shit is wild! The greatest one night build to a World Title match ever with Ric Flair putting his career on the line against Vader! Plus great matches, terrible matches, great finishes, terrible finishes and all the usual weirdness you expect from this time period in WCW’s history. Ric Rude’s music rocks the lad’s world, The Nasty Boys have a rough night. Oh and Max Payne is back and he still sucks. A super fun review to end the show!

Duckman and George ‘The Animal’ Peel are back to bring you news and show reviews in the weird world of pro wrestling. It’s a pro wrestling podcast, with a decidedly Scottish flavour. On the show this week…

The lads have watched SO MUCH WRESTLING over the past two weeks and this is a monster show covering everything. There’s been some big news stories recently including the introduction of WWE’s Thunderdome, the horrible story involving Sonya Deville and Jim Cornette’s ridiculous comments on it, and the news of Renee Young leaving WWE. The lads give their take on three big and very different wrestling news stories.

Then it’s show review time as the lads talk Summerslam and Takeover. All the matches, finishes and angles are covered here. George hates Sasha Banks, the lads can’t believe how nerdy Byron Saxton is, there’s lots of love for Drew McIntyre v Randy Orton. Plus on Takeover Duckman puts over Pat McAfee, but George still isn’t so keen. There’s so much love for Timothy Thatcher v Finn Balor and the ladder match, in fact bar the main event, everything on Takeover gets a thumbs up. It’s safe to say the lads enjoyed Takeover a lot more than Summerslam, and the reviews of both shows are super fun.

The show is wrapped up as always with the Random Retro PPV Review. This week it’s an absolute comedic classic with WCW’s Superbrawl 3 from 1993. Eric Watts the over pushed and hated son of the booker takes centre stage, so does Max Payne – a fat, useless guitar playing sack of crap. Plus Cactus Jack being awesome, Sting v Vader in a brutal strap match that has one of the weirdest hype video builds of all time, plus Ric Flair is back, Great Muta does cool stuff and on commentary Jesse Ventura and Tony Schiavone are the absolute highlight of the show. The lads are left in tears of laughter during this review, a real SATP highlight.

So sit back, relax and get some SATP goodness in your life. Thanks for listening, spread the word of the show and all that good stuff.
