MFX Podcast

Welcome one and welcome all, the bar is open, the drinks are poured, so raise a glass and let’s get all fucked up on the biggest nerd news stories of the past couple of weeks. Join your heroes Duckman and Marc Abrigo as they give nerd news the full 3PB treatment. On the show this week…

The lads are back with a lot to say and they kick off talking about Anthony Joshua’s shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jrn.  Yeah, we don’t always talk geek you know. Sometimes we have to talk about a tubby Mexican boxers who is now the new body positive poster child for fatties around the world.  Marc has been on an adventure this week – he’s been to Hoodslam.  It’s a renegade wrestling promotion that focus on the geek and some major outside the box thinking.  So it’s perfect for 3PB.  Hear all about Marc’s trip to their recent show based all around video game characters and some of his favourite matches/finishes.

The lads go all in on the final season of Game of Thrones.  They talk their own thoughts and feelings on the final season.  Plus Duckman rants about people making petitions and the incredible level of entitlement that exists in fandom these days.

There’s a new Batman everyone! Robert Pattinson has been cast for a new trilogy of Batman movies.  The lads aren’t upset about this (at least as much as the petition making neckbeards are) and discuss why they think it’s a really smart piece of casting.

A few random topics to wrap up the show this week with Marc talking all things Swamp Thing, Duckman talks the season finales of Flash and Arrow, plus there’s one of the more ridiculous 3PB moments as they talk Godzilla and Marc reveals the greatest horse based character in the history of all of geekdom.

As always thanks for listening and be sure to get involved with the show through all the usual channels.

It’s that time once again – MFX is back to bring you the kind of loosely based around pro wrestling podcast that will tickle your funny bone until you squirt. Join your heroes Duckman and Sir Ian Trumps as they traverse the week in pro wrestling, pop culture and everything in between. On the show this week…

Another life altering, spirit lifting, laugh making 3 hours of MFX goodness awaits for you lucky people.  Hear all about Duckman’s adventure working at a European election polling station and how he is now officially a pillar of democracy.  Don’t worry, it’s not political chat.  It’s more about Duckman trying to keep it together while dealing with the public for 15 hours straight and friend of the show Colin being mistaken for a child.  The usual MFX nonsense basically.

Of course there’s wrestling chat on the show this week.  How could there not be?  The lads discuss Jon Moxley’s big interview with Chris Jericho all about his time in WWE, his frustrations with WWE’s creative process and Vince.  He basically confirms all the things the lads have been saying for years.  They talk all about Vince, the way his creative system has run off millions of fans since 2002 and how difficult it must be to work under his regime.

There’s an in-depth review of AEW’s début show Double or Nothing.  No début show in history has ever been this good, this successful and all without regular TV.  The lads go into deep detail on the show, from the crowd, to commentary to the matches, booking and so much more.  This is the show that made them love wrestling again.

The show is wrapped up with a chuckle filled review of WWE’s Money in the Bank PPV.  A show with a couple of good matches, a bunch of dumb ass booking and even dumber referees.  Sir Ian is not a fan of Bayley, but he is a fan of Saved by the Bell and his crazy knowledge of that show is on display during this review.

Avengers: Endgame. That’s all we talk about this week folks.  And it’s not just the usual team of Duckman and Marc Abrigo.  That’s right, MFX and 3PB are bringing all their stars together to review this massive cinematic event.  Sir Ian Trumps is on 3PB everyone and it’s awesome!!  Almost as awesome as Endgame.

This is our 2 hour, spoiler filled, super detailed review of the movie.  The lads talk all the major plot points, characters, deaths, time travel, super hero battles and more!  They also talk about the MCU as a whole, what it’s meant to them and where it goes from here.  They pay tribute to one of the biggest movie events of their lifetimes and it’s a really fun show.  A super show if you will.

Join your heroes Duckman and Sir Ian Trumps as they traverse the week in pro wrestling, pop culture and everything in between. On the show this week…

The lads kick off with some chat about Manchester United’s season and Sir Ian laments everything that’s gone wrong with it.  Duckman doesn’t really care but they are Sir Ian’s team and he’s got some stuff to say.  Fear not though MFX, there’s plenty of pro wrestling chat on the show this week!

Speaking of which, the lads discuss the Superstar Shakeup and aren’t impressed.  Then they come up with an idea for a new show you’ll hear soon.  We’re going retro folks.  The lads talk WWE’s recent record low TV ratings, how much of their audience they’ve lost in recent years, how Vince will react, what this downturn could mean for WWE and even AEW.  They talk WWE’s recent financial report and what’s going on with WWE’s finances – don’t worry, they make it funny.

The lads talk WWE’s next show for the murderous Saudi regime.  They finally find out the reason for these shows and it’s not money – it’s all about Baron Corbin and his one way ticket.  There’s all the latest backstage gossip involving Luke Harper, Lio Rush, The Revival and more.  The lads preview WWE’s Money in the Bank show and give their thoughts on the Dark Side of the Ring documentary series they’ve watched.  As always, the show is wrapped up with the Try Hard Ruler of the Week.

So sit back, relax and get your ear holes primed for some seriously entertaining MFX goodness. The pro wrestling podcast that’s so good, you don’t even need to like pro wrestling to enjoy it!

It’s a fun show this week, but also a weird one as there’s lots of stuff we’re talking about that either we haven’t seen at time of recording, or can’t talk about because of spoilers.  Luckily Marc and Duckman are super awesome and make this a damn fun show.  The lads kicks off with talk of Avengers Endgame.  Marc had seen it at the time of recording, Duckman hadn’t.  So they don’t talk the plot of the movie, just the business around it and how much money this movie is going to make.  They said a billion in a week, turned out to be in a weekend.

Finally Duckman has caught up with Marc in the movie/tv show watching stakes and gives his thoughts on Spiderman: Into The Spiderverse, Aquaman, Umbrella Academy and the bizarre viewing experience he had of Captain Marvel.

Marc talks all things Netflix and why they rarely renew shows after their 3rd season.  Plus he talks Love, Sex and Robots – his new favourite show on Netflix.  And he gives his review of the Hellboy reboot.  It’s a pretty short review and when you hear the show you’ll know why.  There’s plenty of chat about the Disney+ launch in November.

There’s some quick chat about the new Star Wars trailer.  The show is wrapped up with Game of Thrones chat, come and find out how wrong the lads where about what would happen at the battle of Winterfell.  That’s right, this show was recorded before that INCREDIBLE episode.  Don’t worry, they’ll be all over that and Endgame on the next 3PB.

It’s the biggest week of the year in prowrestling, so it’s only right we give you our biggest show of the year.  And what a show we’ve got for you.  The lads look back at the big story in wrestling pre WrestleMania – John Oliver’s piece on WWE business practices.  They also talk Jim Ross signing with AEW, what that means for the company and what other talents they should be looking to sign.  There’s also some chat about the Viceland documentary series ‘Dark Side of the Ring.’

Then it’s down to the business of the reviews of the big shows of the weekend.  Sir Ian talks us through the WWE Hall of Fame in his own inimitable fashion.  The lads mark out over NXT Takeover, Duckman struggles with the ROH side of the G1 Supercard show from MSG and the lads both give their takes on all the happenings at WrestleMania 35.  A huge weekend of wrestling and this is the ONLY take you need to hear on everything that went down.  You’ll laugh, you’ll learn and we’re sure you’ll love!

Abrigo is on location this week in Seattle for Emerald City Comic Con, where he is performing and also just nerding out like the rest of us.  The lads talk all things Comic Con and Marc brings us all the latest on the biggest news in his world – the K-Pop sex scandal. They celebrate the box office of Captain Marvel and enjoy the thought of all the insecure, lame ass little neck beard bitches who will be so upset at the news.  There’s Avengers: End Game trailer chat and a little Shazam too.

The lads celebrate the news of James Gunn being reinstated as the director of Guardians of the Galaxy 3.  There’s problems with the long in development DC movie The Flash and the lads have all the latest news on script problems and wonder if the movie will ever get released.  Some casting news on the new Batman movie has the lads wondering isn’t this new Alfred, just the same as the last movie and who really cares about Alfred?  Duckman laments the end of an era as Stephen Amell announces the end of his time playing Green Arrow after eight seasons.  They wrap the show up with plenty of hype around the forthcoming movie Brightburn – a story about what if Superman landed on earth but he was a raging, violent, kid who became a serial killer?

Another packed show this week folks as the lads hit the ground running with some chat about how for some reason everyone in the world didn’t know Michael Jackson was a kiddie fiddler.  Duckman updates on his strong comeback on Twitter after being Meltzered a few weeks ago.  There’s some chat about Brexit (don’t worry not too much), plus Duckman talks about his trip to watch Bill Burr, Sir Ian’s big plans for his 40th birthday, and what happened when Grumpy Duck Snr (Duckman’s Dad) met his French Fanny.

There’s tons of wrestling chat on the show with all the big news of the last few weeks covered including Roman Reigns making his return, all the comings and goings in WWE creative, the sad passing of King Kong Bundy and The Destroyer.  Plus there’s tons more topics covered, laughs had and all that jazz.

The lads also give a full review of WWE Fastlane with loads of Miz’s Dad fun, some great matches, some horrendous booking and all the usual madness you’d expect from WWE.  The show is wrapped up with the Try Hard Ruler of the Week featuring some dumb cops, a dumb person at a zoo, a dumb wrapper and a dumber footballer.

The lads are back after a couple of weeks and they’ve got all your geek news needs right here!  The lads cover DC’s new Doom Patrol show and Marc is pretty hyped for it.  They talk the future of DC’s TV shows and what they might next bring to the small screen.  Batfleck is out and who will take up the cape and cowl next?  The discuss talk all things Batman and what might be next for the DC movie universe.

There’s some news on Guardian’s of the Galaxy 3, the lads debate who should direct the movie and so much more.   Two new shows covered this week as the lads talk the new Netflix show Umbrella Academy.  It sounds really interesting and no doubt the lads will have more to say about this show in the coming weeks.

They wrap the show up this week with some fire towards the absolute knob ends who are bad review bombing Captain Marvel before they’ve seen it, just because it stars a woman or something.  Some people are so damn lame!

Join your heroes Duckman and Sir Ian Trumps as they traverse the week in pro wrestling, pop culture and everything in between. On the show this week…

It’s another all pro-wrestling, well mostly pro-wrestling show again this week.  Duckman’s been ill, Sir Ian’s kids have been ill, so what better way to cheer up and recover than by diving headlong into another insane few weeks in the world of pro-wrestling?  The lads kick off with all the latest tabloid gossip stories from WWE.  Did you know it’s not a good idea to bang your daughter’s role model when you’re married?  Corey Graves didn’t.  Whoops.  An Uso got arrested but the lads aren’t sure they got the right one.  There’s loads of discussion around Vince’s booking, how he’s out of step with the current fan base (duh) and there’s even a bit of WWE financial chat.

There’s tons of chat about AEW, their signings, their TV deal, their future and what kind of success levels they can hope to achieve in the early years.  The lads compare and contrast AEW with TNA and wander down memory lane of Aces and Eights and Hulk Hogan picking the carcass of TNA clean.  They talk The Undertaker appearing at Starcast 2 and laugh at the reactions from both AEW and WWE fans.  They aren’t really taking anything well.  Twitter is hilariously dumb at the moment about all of this.

There’s a full review of Elimination Chamber, a below average WWE show, bookended with two great matches.  The lads have more fun with Shane McMahon trying to wrestling, Miz trying to impress his Dad, Renee Young’s drive to become the worst commentator in WWE (and MAN that takes some work).  It’s a full review of the show so expect the usual MFX style.  Which is mostly the lads making with the funny and hiding nuggets of insight among the dick and fart jokes.

So sit back, relax and get your ear holes primed for some seriously entertaining MFX goodness. The pro wrestling podcast that’s so good, you don’t even need to like pro wrestling to enjoy it!
