This vacation MindEspresso is about faux-influence versus real influence. Many people think “influence” is about making a good argument, being convincing and repeating... they don’t realize this thinking actually makes everyone else think LESS of their argument, think LESS of them and LESS-likely to ever want to talk to them again. Real influence is about understanding how someone sees a problem and helping them see that problem in a better light.
In this a Mind Espresso I feature the books The Catalyst by Jonah Berger, Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss, Influence by Robert Cialdini, and The Challenger Sale by Brent Adamson.
I primarily work with corporate executives, but I also have a passion for personal leadership. I’ve started these Personal Leadership MindEspressos from people I’ve interviewed. Here is our podcast: https://lnkd.in/dxtN8PR
