Modern minutemen who are located in northern climates that are affected by extreme cold and significant snow fall have far more warfare considerations than the average minuteman. Everthing from layering systems and specialized mobility equipment to cold weather injuries and shelters, having a high level of understanding and training is paramount for true operational readiness in these regions.

In this episode, Stephen and Jacob discuss cold weather considerations with Ben Price who served is the USMC. Although cold weather operations is nothing new to Jacob and Stephen, this episode is more form a Marines perspective as well as some tips and tricks from our Norwegian allies.

After Actions Reviews are used to recall, process, and de-brief a situation that happened, why it happened, and if it could've been handled better/differently. This process can enable better understanding overall, can help those who experienced the situation, and can help others who may find themselves in similar situations in the furture. On the "Minutemen Initiative" we use the After Actions Review to allow someone to share a life experience that others could learn from.

In this "After Actions Review" Jacob and Stephen sit down with Marty Combs (aka Veritas) to discuss a real world home invasion situation that went from likely nothing, to potential threat, to a real and unexpected threat very quickly. The Modern Minuteman concept is still being fleshed out and developed with lots of considerations when it comes to modern warfare. Among the many details to establish has been the apparent need for weapon platforms that can increase engagement tempo and firepower offering tactical options for small units and teams. This need has led to many different ideas and perspectives on how the modern minuteman should approach specialized platforms and some look to the military for answers.

Although the military can offer many valuable insights into fighting methods, the military doctrine and approach to the use of machine guns is very specific. In this episode Stephen and Jacob sit down with Ben Price (a fomer USMC 0331 Machine Gunner) to explain the ways military machine gun tactics differ from small unit auto rifle tactics. These differences are important to highlight because we believe it better informs the overall concept of what platforms best serve the mission of the modern minuteman.
