Is the tide turning? Common wisdom says that this should be a wave election for Republicans. But Republicans seem to be doing everything in their power to screw that up. Primarily because they are insane. From Alex Jones to Steve Bannon and Rudy Giuliani, to the Fox News bunch, Republicans are floundering. And the voters of Kansas have just dropped a great big turd into their victory punch bowl. Can the Democrats learn from this? We close this episode with a tribute to Vin Scully. RIP.

At literally the same time this past weekend, while Donald Trump was hosting the Saudi-financed LIV Golf event at his club in New Jersey (the same Saudis who sponsored the 9/11 terrorists), President Biden was green-lighting a mission to eliminate the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. If ever there was a more perfect way to contrast where we were a couple of years ago, and where we are today, we'd love to see it. Also, more evidence that conservative media is drifting away from Trump, and one final question: Who buries a family member on a golf course?

As the January 6th Committee takes an August break from the beating that it is giving Donald Trump, they pass the baton to the Department of Justice, who are wasting no time in moving on witnesses to the DC Grand Jury. Meanwhile, in a show of complete obliviousness, Trump finally gets a golf tournament and shows that literally nothing matters to him except money. Fox and Friends humiliates themselves by reporting on polls that are unfavorable to their (former?) idol, and Jon Stewart delivers an epic rant against the spineless Republicans in the Senate.

The Turning Point USA Student Action Summit convened over the weekend in Tampa, FL, and along with the usual clowns of the GOP (Ted Cruz, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Donald Trump) another group that supports Republicans offered a big show of support: Nazis. We now live in a time where one of the two major political parties is fully the Fascist party wrapped in Republican clothes. Malcolm Nance warns that we are 4 months from the end of Congress if Republicans win. Code Red people! It might be a race between the Fascists taking full control of our government and global warming ending life on the planet. Life imitates art, as we illustrate.

Thanks to the excellent investigation and presentation by the January 6th Committee, it is undeniable what happened. One of the more glaring realities that has emerged is that Donald Trump put out an order to his followers, in mafia-style, to kill Mike Pence. Further, he issued directives from his command post to his fascist troops that day during their assault on the Capitol. After the coup failed, the next day, Trump could not bring himself to say that the election was over. The outtakes of his January 7th speech, if not further evidence of his intentions, are hilarious. Also, there's a new MAGA movement in Texas, Pete Buttigieg masterfully puts a Republican Congressman in his place, and Joe Rogan has a novel way of dealing with the homeless.

Former Navy Intelligence Officer Malcolm Nance has a new book out, "They Want to Kill Americans". Who is "they"? "They" are all around you. Will we be fighting our neighbors? We discuss. Meanwhile, the world is literally melting around us, but Joe Manchin cannot be bothered by such things. All this, and polls suggest that as many as 60% of Americans can't be bothered to follow the news.

In an emotional monologue this week, Chris Hayes of MSNBC shot down the notion that Pat Cippoloni, and the others who self identify as "Team Normal" within Trump world, are people who we need to hold in particularly high esteem. We excerpt his thoughts here. Also, the case of the 10-year-old rape victim in Ohio who was forced to travel to Indiana to terminate her pregnancy has placed some (knee-) jerk Republicans in a humiliating position...assuming they are capable of humility. And the frustrations of debating a Trumper is examined.

The January 6th Committee continues its dissection of Donald Trump and his band of misfits. They've now tied Roger Stone directly to the Fascist Proud Boys and Oath Keepers directly, and thanks to another recording of Steve Bannon, today is not a good day to be him. Liz Cheney continues to twist the knife on Trump by revealing that the twice impeached and disgraced former guy called a witness. Meanwhile, other Trump allies are becoming former allies and breaking with him, including his former acting Chief of Staff and White House Spokesperson. Also, most of the speculation for 2024 surrounds who'll be the Republican nominee, but an even better question might be, "who'll be the Democratic nominee?" We discuss.

Courtesy of Rep Adam Kinzinger, the MAGA base and Fox Viewership drop their pants for us. These truly aren't the best and brightest among us. Are we REALLY going to let this crowd prevail in November? And when will liberals stop attacking their side and focus their ire towards the real enemy? The Hillbilly Liberal Trae Crowder has some thoughts on the most recent mass shooting and whether weed is truly to blame.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has perhaps launched the first political missile for the 2024 election straight over Donald Trump's head and into the front yard of Ron DeSantis. Inviting people in Florida to come to California to enjoy our freedoms, he's engaging in a major trolling effort that already has right wing media and political figures fuming, which is exactly his aim. Meanwhile, Liz Cheney debates her primary opponents in Wyoming, a cast that fellow 1/6 Committee member Adam Kinzinger calls "a bunch of armpit farters". We have the sound. And the hypotheticals around the horrors of the Supreme Court's action on Abortion are no longer hypothetical. Will it help to motivate the left?
