After an historic week, it is clear that American is in the clutches of a religious movement led by a minority.  The lives of tens of millions of women and girls in this country have been dramatically altered by religious zealots.  On the bright side, this should be one of the two or three sole issues that Democrats at every level of government should run on.  As one person stated, "Her body, her choice.  Period".  Also, listen to Jordan Klepper interview MAGA supporters at a Mississippi rally.

Don't you miss an America that people respected and were a little bit afraid of?"  Just as John Gotti's goons were afraid of him, so are Trump's.  Difference between the Gambino Crime Family and the Trump criminal enterprise is that we don't even need FBI wiretaps with the current bunch as they did with Paul Castellano and John Gotti.  Trump's crowd makes speeches, gives interviews, leave voicemails, send Tweets and post on social media their threats.  Makes the collection of evidence a pretty simple matter...right Merrick Garland?  Also, we discuss the coming new illegal drugs that will soon be making their appearances on street corners in red states all over the country, making criminals rich in the process.

As we make our way through the January 6th hearings, and witness the evidence of the ongoing assault on our elections by a disgraced, twice-impeached wannabe mob boss from Florida, who happens to be the favorite to be the GOP nominee the next time out...and see that polls are telling us that his movement and party are positioned to gain control of the House and Senate this year, we have to wonder if our 235 year run of being a special nation in the world has run its course.  Can we get through the next few years without some serious violence?  Unless opponents of this madness start paying attention, perhaps not.

The Jan 6th Committee has started to show it's hand, and it's a strong one.  As evidenced by their actions and their propaganda outlets, they are panicked.  Panicked to the point that Fox avoided breaking for any commercials during the Tucker Carlson hour of entertainment for fear that his viewers would tune away to see what they were missing.  Often, it's the late night comedians who have the most effective takes on what is going on.  We bring two of them to you here for their analysis.  Finally, we discuss the break-away professional golf circuit sponsored by the butchers from Saudi Arabia and how the PGA has reacted.

While Covid has found its way into the M & M family, it's not enough to prevent us from airing another award-worthy episode of the Podcast!  On that topic, we air some grievances around our healthcare system, or perhaps doctors more specifically.  Also, we show that there really isn't anything quite as stupid as Republican elected officials, or those running to be one.  Truly.  Louie Gohmert and Herschel Walker are exhibits for this thesis.

A mass shooting is defined as a shooting that injured or killed four or more people, not including the shooter. We are on a pace to exceed 500 of these incidents in 2022.  Every day in the U.S. 111 people are killed by gunfire.  Another 210 are wounded each day. Contemplate those numbers.  Shootings are the number one killer of children in this country. If these figures don't bring a sense of shame, then there is something seriously wrong with you.  Yet, we hear "solutions" spanning the spectrum from the need for better doors, arming teachers, more prayer, abortion (we kid you not) and limiting fatherless homes.  Everything except dealing with the one single common denominator in every one of these instances. We have some suggestions.  We also bring some statistics on an issue affecting every one of us: inflation.

Fallout from the Texas school murders continue with "solutions" pouring in from all corners.  Herschel Walker, fresh off of an impressive win among Georgia Republicans in the primary for US Senate has offered his definitive solution to the plague of gun violence and proves that...he was a great football player.  Meanwhile, Georgia's other member of MENSA, Marjorie Taylor Greene explains that we are all part of a "peach tree dish" for Bill Gates and his fake meat, or something.

Enough with the thoughts and prayers already.  Enough with the arguments that armed guards, or fortified buildings, bulletproof glass, ballistic backpacks, armed teachers or attending church will do anything to address the issue.  We will NEVER be able to address the gun problem in this country until we do one very basic thing that is within all of our control.  We are in a sad place when the best examples of leadership is coming from NBA coaches and late night comedians.  Enough.  As Sen Chris Murphy said this week, "what are we doing?"
