Are you in a place where you don’t feel that twinkle of joy as a SAHM that everyone talks about? Or, have you been in that phase in the past? Maybe you go through these ups and downs each week. I’m here to tell you, that’s 1000% a-okay. We’ve all been there. We all have days, weeks, or seasons where we don’t LOVE the role we’re in. Yup! I said it!
However, (here comes the tough-love) you can’t just sit there and wallow in the self-pity mentality. You have to be intentional with reflecting on WHY you aren’t loving this season. In this episode, I unpack and discuss this topic and hope to give some inspiration to:

Creating healthy habits is challenging as a busy SAHM, who is constantly pouring into her family. Trust me, I get it. So many times we start habits, especially at the New Year, with the best of intentions on making them to stick. And then, April comes and we’ve completely gotten off track. I’m here to tell you, we’ve all been there. It’s not about what you haven’t done or haven’t accomplished, and more about what you will do moving forward to get back on track.
In this episode I break down the 3 tricks I’ve learned to create habits that stick.
I’ve also put together a FREE, easy-to-use, customizable tool for you to get back on track (or stay on track) and build those habits into your daily routines.

Mamas! As you know, we changed the name of this community from “Mama Mindset” to “Mom: In-Process.” I discuss the reason for that change in Episode 103, “New Name, Same Game.” The short version of the change is that I found out “Mama Mindset” is a registered trademark and owned by another woman wanting to build her own business that focuses on helping mamas. The owner of that trademark is Anik Cockroft. So, after my two-second pity party, I decided I needed to meet this woman and have her on the show. As it turns out, she’s truly amazing, and the conversation we have goes deep into mindset and motherhood, as well as the laughable journey in how our worlds have collided in such a positive and beautiful way.
She is a Board Certified Pediatrician, Sports medicine Physician, writer, and mama of 2. She stepped away from her career to focus on motherhood and empowering mamas using her experience in the medical industry, personal journey in motherhood, and deep work she has done in mindset and personal development.
I’m so glad our worlds have come together and that I followed my instinct to meet her. Anik is a one-in-a-million type woman, and I’m grateful to have aligned with her. As women, we can truly create change in the world when we come together and collaborate in an open, honest, and vulnerable way.

The title explains what this episode entails, but I would like to add that there is nothing wrong with calling yourself a “homemaker.” However, in the episode, I go into further details as to why I believe it does not fully encompass what our role as full-time mothers entails.

I'm incredibly excited to introduce you to my wonderful friend Nicole Seegmiller, a homeschooling mama to 8 (yes, you read that right) beautiful kids ages almost 15 to just over 1. I often talk on the podcast about having mentors and people we look up to, and Nicole is my inspirational mama friend. I’m constantly asking myself, “What would Nicole do?”. “How would Nicole handle this situation?” And, if I’m really in a bind, I talk to her in person or send her a message, and she is always willing to help in any way she can.
In this episode, we talk about ALL THINGS mom-life. We talk about her background (she’s brilliant by the way) and how her education and experiences have played a role in motherhood and homeschooling. We talk about the importance of diversity in our communities, which we are able to provide as full-time moms. We talk about the beauty of homeschooling and how she decided to educate their children at home. Nicole shares with me her tips and tricks for meal planning, home management, and the roles and duties her and her husband play in their household. Nicole and her husband have three businesses between the two of them, so there are pros and cons of that dynamic as well.
At the end of the day, we both agree that our role as a full-time parent is irreplaceable, almost immeasurable, and the most profound work we will ever do. Grab a cozy beverage for this one, because the mom-game is strong!

In today’s episode, I wanted to share a personal experience I recently went through in hopes of helping any of you who are struggling to seek peace amidst the craziness of our world at the moment. The current state of our world may be leaving you feeling hopeless, confused, sad, worried, and even fearful. As mothers, we take on this burden for our children and hold it inside. We seek to find answers to the causes of evil, violence, conflict, division, and disruption in hopes of understanding. The truth is, we will never understand. We will never know what drives a person through darkness instead of light.
I often talk about finding clarity and peace of mind through journaling, meditation, movement, and outside time. However, I am not naive to the fact that these often are not enough. There are moments when we must tap into a deeper spirituality in times of uncertainty that goes beyond these outlets. This is an experience we must feel, not just actions that must be taken. I recently found myself in a situation where those outlets weren’t enough. I found myself seeking clarity and answers to questions that seemed impossible to find. I was turning to everything I thought I needed, with no success. Finally, I found myself frustrated and chose to listen to my heart instead of my head.
In this podcast, I’ll discuss another outlet for these darker times. What I learned is that sometimes we aren’t truly seeking an answer as to why things happen or are happening. We seek guidance as to what we can do for ourselves and our children. I was able to find that clarity by following my heart to an outlet my family doesn’t utilize often, but was one we needed at the time.

As women, as moms, we are in a process, and we are continuously learning—no matter your age and no matter the age of your children. That is what today’s guest wants to dive deeper into in this episode. Ruby Moseley is a historical fiction author, mental health advocate, and blogger who shares with us her experiences as a young mom and her struggles as a SAHM.
We also talked about moms' mistakes and how we hold on to that no matter how we try not to. If you’re a struggling mom or you are in a dark place right now, know that you are not alone. We are all here for you. Reach out to another mom, or reach out to Ruby or me. Just please, ask for help.
Who is Ruby Moseley?
She started her family young, so it wasn’t college-right-out-of-high-school for her. When she met her current husband, Bob, he had two children, ‘his,’ and Ruby had two, ‘hers.’ The four children tagged along with them down the aisle when they married! Then, before long, they’d added theirs,’ their fifth child and then ‘theirs,’ our grandson, who’s the same as their sixth child.
While being a stay-at-home mom/domestic engineer, she began part-time studies at the University of Texas at El Paso. Eventually, she earned a BA through a University of Alabama distance program.
She wrote nonfiction articles for local magazines. While writing online content for blogs and her own blog (www.unaskdforadvice.com), she became fascinated with researching her family history, which inspired her to write her debut historical fiction novel, Etch of a Promise, Book One of Sawdust Legacy series.
She and her husband enjoy traveling, and they’ve been to Costa Rica, Mexico, and Canada. They live in Central Texas, where they thrive with their two golden retrievers. She tries to keep up with her children and their growing families when she's not writing.

A light and fun episode! Let’s chat about the realities of SAHM life. If you’re interested in pursuing life as a full-time mom, yay! I’m so excited for you. But also, let’s have an honest chat about what that role will entail. If you're already a SAHM, you'll 100% find this relatable and humorous.
No one told me my life as a SAHM would often feel consumed with providing, maintaining, and managing my household's basic needs. When I (naively) decided to become a full-time mother, I had a vision for what I thought my life would look like. What I found instead was life's most simple basic needs, such as food, clothing, sleep, and shelter, had become not only my full-time job but also the sources of my biggest frustrations and overwhelmed.
However, we find these unbelievably beautiful moments in this role through it all. And that, my friend, is what helps us wake up each day and do it all over again.

“We have over 10 trillion bacterial cells in our gut.”
My conversation in this podcast stemmed from absolute curiosity on my end. What is gut health, and why is it important? This is a question I wanted to dive into, and Jayne Williams was the perfect guest to help me discover the answer. Jayne is a certified Holistic Nutritionist host of the Elevated Wellness podcast; she’s certified in gut health and is a long-time advocate of health and nutrition.
Jayne shares her personal journey to discovering the importance of gut health from her own past health issues. We discuss the importance of understanding how we source our food, the first steps to improving gut health, healthy bowel movements, listening to the whispers our body is saying, getting baseline blood work done annually, and the necessity to advocate for yourself when it comes to your health continuously.
Most importantly, don’t ignore what your body is trying to tell you. As busy mothers, we are constantly taking care of our children’s needs and health, but putting off your wellness can be detrimental if not taken care of.
