Lets take a look at "routine" procedures that we are all told that we need during pregnancy. You can take as much as a hands on or hands off for almost all of these. You have a choice and you always have a right to say "no". Pregnancy does not turn off your rights as human being - but it does require some education to make informed and intelligent decisions.
There are a lot of emotions that flow after a positive pregnancy test. In addition to excitement, relief, and happiness, there can also be fear and anxiety. The first-trimester experience can be challenging even if everything is going fine. My opinion is that it is best to buck the trend of not telling anyone that you're pregnant and let yourself share the ups and especially the downs with a trusted friend or even a circle of friends. It will make a difference!
A concise list of Holly's top 5 tips for healthy fertility. Some of this is easy ditch and switch, some not so much.
1. Mindset & clearing emotional blocks
2. Clearing toxins in your home, especially feminine hygene products(this is a big one!)
3. Reduce inflammation
4. Clear the confusion - get a baseline test of your hormones, toxins, food sensitivity
5. Clearing expectations of you and your partner. But its not all or nothing - Do what works for you!
In this episode we talk about some of things you can do to help increase your overall fertility health. It is important that the other systems in your body are in balance, especially your gut health. We also dive into some of the common medications and supplements that can be a detrimant to your fertility that you might not be aware of.
We have more control over our fertility than we've realized in the past, but it does require some understanding of how things work. Unfortunately, many women (myself included!) simply were never taught this. My goal with this fertility series is to try and bridge that gap and help share the education we all should have.
Have you ever considered mapping out your month to work in harmony with your period? We talk about how to manage your activities and diet to work with the changes in your hormones instead of against them. There is a small window of your cycle in which you can get pregnant and knowing how it all functions can really take the guesswork out of get pregnant.

The conversation around fertility needs to happen in a way that does not leave you broken. You may have been in a situation where you have been having trouble conceiving or know someone struggling and have heard the term, "We're sending some magic baby dust your way." While the intent and the well-wishing are positive, it is time we take a deeper look at the reality and make strides to open a constructive narrative. So join me this week as we peel back the multifaceted layers of this important topic.
As we continue our discussions about reproductive health, we have to broach the subject of making babies! We aren't going to get into the sexual mechanics of it (that discussion is on the way so hit that subscribe button!), but it is important to discuss the basic things that everyone needs to know (yes, you too, gentleman!) about how we actually conceive a child. We didn't learn this stuff from our mothers, and we didn't learn it in school either.
When is it okay to start talking about sex with your kids? If they are in school, this may happen sooner than you'd like! Join me as I delve into how you may approach this conversation and why it is vital to make sure that your children feel that they can talk with you about their changing bodies in a safe, comfortable, and open way.
