  • With Fear For Our Democracy

The Supreme Court's decision on presidential immunity - grouped with some of the other decisions rendered this session - are a christofascist's dreams. It's like the SCOTUS is the villain in an old silent movie, the woman tied to the railroad tracks is the Statue of Liberty, and there's a train barreling down the tracks, called Project 2025.

MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss today's astonishing decision - and what lovers of democracy can do now.

  • Our Worst Nightmares

Last week, the MOMocrats were taking bets on whether the convicted felon former President would even show up to the June debate. This week, Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills are wishing it had all been a bad dream.

President Biden's performance at the debate in front of 40 million viewers was not good. But - as Karoli points out - if you read the transcript, the substance of what Biden said was cogent and real, while Trump was a firehose of lies. In North Carolina today, the President not only owned what went wrong last night, he was on fire.

Let's hope that continues, because the damage the Trump Supreme Court is doing to the nation is immense. A whole bunch of weighty decisions were released this week, and the MOMocrats discussed some of those... with the most dramatic decision still to come. Is presidential immunity a thing? We'll all find out on Monday.

  • Will the Debate Actually Happen?

Next week's presidential debate between President Biden and convicted felon Donald Trump will be interesting - if it happens. MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills are not holding their breath.

The MOMocrats also talked about campaign fundraising numbers, Biden's moves on immigration, Louisiana's Ten Commandments stunt, and the pretzel logic Chief Justice Roberts had to use in today's ruling on gun rights for a domestic abuser. • TFG Is a Convicted Felon. And Joe Biden Is Old.

While the twice impeached, convicted former president doubled down on vows of retribution, the Wall Street Journal weighed in - ridiculously - on the current president's age. In the meantime, President Biden was in Normandy, reminding the world of the sacrifices the Allies made fighting Nazis on D-Day.

The world is under threat again from authoritarians, including the United States. To win the fight, all we have to do is VOTE AGAINST THEM.

  • Guilty as Charged

Donald Trump's trial for falsifying business records in order to hide campaign finance regulations came to an end yesterday in the most spectacular fashion imaginable. The jury returned guilty verdicts on ALL 34 felony charges. MOMocrats Aliza Worthington and Donna Schwartz Mills talked about the trial, the reaction, and the 2024 election. They also discussed President Biden's announcement of a new ceasefire proposal between Israel and Hamas, as well as the continuing crisis on the Supreme Court. • Crisis On the Court

We knew that we had one Supreme Court justice was married to an activist who was in the thick of those who tried to overturn the 2020 election. Last week, we learned that a second conservative justice is at the very least, an insurrection sympathizer. Both justices refuse to recuse themselves from Trump-related cases, and no one - not the Chief Justice, or the Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee - seem to have the appetite to enforce common sense ethics rules. • Was It Fox - Or The New York Times?

This week kicked off with yet another screaming New York Times headline alleging that Joe Biden and the Democrats are headed for a 2024 election debacle... except that when you look at the poll's data and see the results for likely voters, the outlook isn't so bad at all. In fact, Democrats continue to outdo predictions in actual elections. So why all the negative framing? And why does everyone think that The New York Times is a liberal publication?

MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills talk about the Fox to MSM to MSNBC news pipeline, Maryland's Democratic primary, Trump's trial, and a certain House member's "bleach blond, bad-built butch body” and more. Part of the Demcast family of podcasts.

  • Brain Worms and Stormy Weather

As usual, the Trump circus dominated this week's news - especially the two days of Stormy Daniels testimony in the NY election interference trial. MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss that and some of the political news that went a little under the radar this week - including the revelation that third-party candidate RFK Jr once claimed to have suffered memory loss from a parasitic worm that was in his brain. • Six Months Until November

Scenes from college campuses this week had a lot of pundits talking about 1968 - and the coincidence of the Democratic National Convention occurring in Chicago this year has not been lost on anyone. However: students protesting a humanitarian crisis in Gaza is not the same as students protesting being conscripted to fight in Vietnam - and MOMocrat Karoli assures Donna Schwartz Mills that the 2024 election is NOT going to be the same as the one in 1968 - no matter how much the Republicans try. The MOMocrats also touch upon Project 2025, Trump's criminal trial, and the booming Joe Biden economy. MOMocrats MOMochat is part of the Demcast family of podcasts.

  • This Week Was Everything All At Once

The pace of political news has been dizzying ever since Trump came down that escalator - and this week, it was downright overwhelming as the former president sat in a New York courthouse for his criminal election interference trial... while the Supreme Court simultaneously heard arguments on presidential immunity. In the meantime, the Biden administration quietly and competently continued accomplishing goals to help America's middle class. MOMocrats Karoli, Aliza Worthington, and Donna Schwartz Mills discuss.
