You have likely heard, "Annuities are not bought, they're sold".
Stan "the annuity man" Haithcock knows all about annuities, and knows why there is so much negativity around this financial product.
Variable, fixed, immediate, indexed: It can all be confusing to a person who doesn't know what annuities are.
"If you are looking for market returns, you should never ever ever buy any type of annuity. If you are looking for income or principle preservation, or maybe some long term care issues, then an annuity may fit."
Stan asks everyone to answer these two questions:
1. What do you want the money to contractually do? 2. When do you want those contractual guarantees to start?
From this point, you can determine if you actually need an annuity - and what type.

What is the difference between a traditional IRA and a self-directed IRA?
Kirk Chisholm of Innovative Wealth, and a regular panelist here on the Money Tree Investing Podcast, says "There's no technical difference. It's more of a marketing language that people use".
"The self-directed IRA came about years ago as a way to distinguish between an IRA that's investing outside of the stock market versus an IRA that's investing in more traditional investments."
Kirk should know. Self-directed IRAs is his specialty.
Listen as Joseph Hogue learns more about these interesting and unique investment options and then joins our panel to discuss the "red lights" of what to look out for.
