This Saturday marks the 100th running of the Ladbrokes Cox Plate and this Friday, the first virtual running of The Greatest Ever Cox Plate.

In an Australian first Ladbrokes has partnered with Racing Victoria, the Moonee Valley Racing Club, Inspired Entertainment and Channel 7 to bring to life the Ladbrokes Greatest Ever Cox Plate.
The concept will pit equine superstars from across the globe and across eras against each other in a virtual race, which will be one of the talking points of the Spring Carnival. Aligned to celebrate the 100th running of Australia's WFA Championship, the Ladbrokes Cox Plate at Moonee Valley on Saturday, October 24.
Ladbrokes with the assistance of key historical data and cutting-edge animation has assembled one of the greatest horse-racing fields of all time. To be contested over the classic 2040m course at Moonee Valley, the world's best middle-distance racehorses will face off in a virtual race that will end all debate - or spark even more!
Ladbrokes has worked with its key partners and a panel of recognised and respected form experts to assemble the final field which includes 11 former Cox Plate winners, headlined by four-time winner Winx and Australian racing icon Phar Lap. They will be joined in the field by three international wildcards, US Champion, Secretariat, champion of Europe, Frankel and Asian champion, Deep Impact, in a move that will add further intrigue and spark additional debate.
The expert panel included Racing Victoria's GM Racing Greg Carpenter, Timeform CEO Gary Crispe, MVRC CEO Michael Browell and Ladbrokes Australia CEO Dean Shannon. The race will be called by the voice of Victorian racing Matthew Hill and will be run on the evening of Friday, October 23 live on Channel 7 and simulcast across Ladbrokes digital platforms.
