Moody Presents

We'll be wrapping up our current series called Bullseye Living:  Staying on Target with God here on Moody Presents.

How much do you REALLY need God… His touch, Word, His life in you?

When things are going well, we sometimes don’t recognize how desperately we need Him.  Last week we started studying the life of Bartimaeus, the blind man as described in Mark chapter 10 and how he was able to get un-stuck from his condition. In addition to the first point of not letting people discourage the intensity of our pursuit of God, Pastor Mark outlines now two more ways to help us get un-stuck. Let’s get started with today’s Moody Presents.

Welcome to Moody Presents!  We are so happy that you joined us today as we near the completion of our current series called Bullseye Living:  Staying on Target with God.  What a great chance we have had to learn from the Bible on what it means to have faith, to trust and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.  But…what if, right now, you say, “Jon, I’ve heard all this, I know all of this in my heart, but I just feel  - STUCK.”   Maybe you feel “stuck” in your life. Maybe it’s relational or financial. The wheels are spinning.  Maybe you are spiritually stuck. Well, God wants you out of that.

Some of us have actually been physically stuck, unable to move, maybe panicking a little about what we need to do to get un-stuck. That’s our theme today as we look at a man in the Bible who was also very stuck.

From Mark chapter 10, here is Mark Jobe on Moody Presents.

Welcome to Moody Presents the teaching ministry of Pastor Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute.  We are continuing the study in Luke chapter 6 of the man with the withered hand. He is standing in front of a crowd with his condition fully exposed. He’s got it all out on the table, and what does Jesus do? He heals the man… on the Sabbath. Pastor Mark gets into the ramifications and lessons we can learn from this powerful story, coming up next.

Welcome again to another Moody Presents.  Our speaker, Dr.  Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute begins a message in the book of Luke.  It’s all part of our continued series called Bullseye Living:  Staying on Target With God.  Let's face it, we ALL have difficult and embarrassing areas of our lives that are hard to talk about. Today we will open the book of Luke and get into the story in Jesus and the man with the withered hand. There’s a lot to his situation that compares to ours today when it comes to dealing with our shame and failures and our journey to find wholeness.

Thanks for joining us for more Moody Presents with Dr. Mark Jobe, President of Moody Bible Institute.  It does seem, more often than not, that those who are opposed to God seem to be making it just fine. Meanwhile, you may be praying, reading your Bible and seeking the Lord, but struggling just to get by. It’s a frustrating dilemma, but Pastor Mark has some good perspective on it a bit later in the message as he continues his teaching from 2nd Peter chapter 2. It’s all under the heading and question, Do All Spiritual Roads Lead To Heaven? He begins today talking about the need to be VERY careful when it comes to who you are listening to or who you’re being influenced by in the faith--there is only ONE way to God. Here’s Pastor Mark Jobe in part two of today’s edition of Moody Presents.

We live in a dangerous and deceptive world. There are many false teachers everywhere who can subtly and almost imperceptibly veer you off course. Our series of messages, meant to help us stay on target with God, continues today with important words from the book of 2 Peter about our spiritual journey.

Many times along our spiritual journey subtle things come along side us and before long, we start struggling with our faith, with our belief.  It’s possible that we’ve been deceived. We don’t  know the fake from the real thing, you see.

Here now is Pastor Mark Jobe with today’s Moody Presents message from 2nd Peter 2 and a warning to be on guard.

Our series, Bullseye Living: Staying On Target With God has been a great one so far and today, we’re in part 2 of a message where Mark is talking about the importance of remembering the “God moments” in your spiritual journey so you don’t forget. But today we go a step further. When our faith is tested we need to have all of those experiences go through the grid of scripture in order to grow.

Our new message series is all about staying on target with God.  But the question remains, do you and I have what it takes to maintain living in the bullseye of that target?   It will be our theme for the next several weeks and we will begin today’s message in 2nd Peter 2 by introducing you to a very unlikely church leadership candidate.  Before we get to that you'll get a little background of 2nd Peter.  Through it all, some real encouragement as you hit the mark for Jesus!
