Welcome to the straightforward Bible teaching of Pastor Mark Jobe on Moody Presents.  Dr. Jobe is president of the Moody Bible Institute and founding pastor of New Life Community Church in Chicago.  Have you ever used the wrong tool for the job?  You know, we can do the same thing, spiritually.  We're looking today at the fifth chapter of the book of James.  It's a message titled, "Powerful Prayer."

Last week Pastor Mark delivered some pretty bad news in the form of a hard hitting list of distractions in our lives that hinder the favor of God, but there are also things that attract it… that’s the good news, and that starts now.  Our theme in this continued series, which we began last week, has to do with God’s Favor in your life. We already learned that our choices really dictate God’s favor or blessing in our lives.  We also learned that living outside of God’s purposes will be a hinderance to our witness in the work place.  So, let’s get started today in the very first verse of the book of Psalms.  Psalms Chapter 1 verse 1.  Let’s learn more about God’s favor…what is its purpose? Are there things that bring it closer and things that push it away?

For the last several weeks we’ve been learning what it means to work, with a Godly perspective.  Today, we’ll pick up with part 2 of a message called “God’s Favor.”  Mark, has been using the term “carrier” as it relates to God’s presence in our lives.  This message is a call to “carry” the amazing grace of the Gospel with us to our work place, and guess what?  There are benefits!

If you are a carrier of the presence of God, it means there is a power and favor that follow. That’s the core of our study in this message by Mark Jobe.

Did you know that, as a believer, YOU are a carrier of God’s favor and blessing wherever you are and wherever you go? We don’t realize that, but it’s true.  We’re continuing our series called God at Work and I must tell you this has been a great reminder for me on what it means show the love of God at work!  We are going to get right into our study and head to Genesis chapter 39 to learn what we can about our work, from the life of Joseph.  In particular the 4 concepts to understanding the favor of God.
