So many of us spend years living according to invisible rules—trying to be liked, trying to be enough, trying to get everything "right." We follow expectations, seek external validation, and silence our own intuition, believing that if we follow all the rules we'll finally arrive and feel enough.
But what if all of that striving is actually what's keeping you disconnected from yourself?
In this episode, Rachel shares her own journey and struggles of shedding all the diets of her life - the business 'noise', motherhood 'noise', and the rules our society sets out for us - and what helped her find her own intuition and voice.
In this episode we cover:
01:14 What led Rachel to burnout
03:51 The realization she was still living according to a diet in different areas of her life and the negative impact it was having
08:24 Feeling a void despite external success
10:13 The emotional breakdown and breakthrough moment
13:47 The crumbling of an old identity and building anew
17:02 Recognizing how shame was holding her back
22:42 What Rachel did to reclaim her intuition
41:45 How pulling away the layers of shame has impacted her life
45:24 Finding purpose in struggle and the real meaning of growth
Whether you're feeling stuck, burned out, disconnected from yourself, or simply wondering if there's another way to live, I hope this conversation reminds you that your life doesn't have to follow anyone else's blueprint.
Often the greatest transformation begins when you stop searching for the "right" path... and start creating the one that intuitively feels right to you.

How do you teach your child about nutrition and healthy habits without making them anxious about food? How do you set boundaries around certain foods in or outside of the home without creating fear or restriction? And how do you protect your child from developing disordered eating or an eating disorder in a culture that is constantly sending them confusing and fear-mongering messages about food, weight, and their bodies?
In this episode, I sit down with eating disorder dietitian Dina Cohen, who brings over 15 years of experience working with children and families impacted by eating disorders. Drawing from what she has seen throughout her years in her private practice, we have a nuanced conversation about how parents can support nutrition while also helping their children build a healthy, trusting relationship with food and their body —and the common, well-intentioned approaches to stay aware of that can sometimes do more harm than good.
We discuss:
• Why perfectionism may be one of the most underrated challenges parents face when feeding their kids—and how it can create unnecessary pressure around food
• How to balance caring about nutrition with keeping food relaxed and emotionally neutral
• The difference between setting reasonable boundaries around food and creating rigid rules or anxiety
• What to do when your child gains a lot of weight, starts eating more, and it triggers your own fears—including Rachel's personal experience with her child
• How parents' own unresolved food and body concerns can unintentionally influence the way they respond to their child's eating or changing body
• A powerful question to ask yourself when concerns about your child's food intake or weight come up
• How to talk to kids about food coloring, sugar, and other foods that are demonized or may truly be a concern without creating fear or moralizing food
• What age-appropriate nutrition education can look like from preschool through the teen years
• Why puberty, weight gain, and normal body changes can become particularly vulnerable times for the development of disordered eating and how to work through this season with your child
• How to help kids navigate diet culture, nutrition misinformation, advertising, and conflicting messages about food and bodies
• What it takes to play the long game in raising children who grow up to be adults with a healthy relationship with food and body image.
This conversation isn't about parenting perfectly or eliminating every possible influence of diet culture. It's about understanding how the messages we send around food, health, weight, and bodies can shape our children's relationship with eating—and how we can be more intentional about creating an environment that supports both their physical health and their long-term relationship with food and body image.
Whether you're worried about your child's relationship with food, want to prevent disordered eating, or simply find yourself worrying, Am I doing this right?, this episode offers a thoughtful and practical perspective on what matters most.

Negative body image moments can feel like they 'come out of nowhere' and suck the joy out of your day. And if your body image is chronically bad, it can be even a week, month, year, or lifetime.
I'm going to let you in on a secret, these bad body image moments can also happen even when you've healed your body image!
In fact, not too long ago, I experienced one of the worst body image moments I've had in a really really long time, probably even years!
A big misconception, and one that my clients I've been working with a for a while bring up often, is the belief that if you have a healthy body image and positive relationship with our body, then you won't or you 'shouldn't' (ugh, there's the pesky word again) have bad body image thoughts or feelings EVER.
The truth is, a healthy body image doesn't mean you'll never have a bad body image thought, day or moment. A healthy body image is knowing how to respond and work through these moments in a way that is kind and honors you and your body.
In this podcast episode, I share with you how I do that in real time (so you can, too!) and turned around a really bad body image experience (I mean, I nearly cried!), to one that felt compassionate and empowering and left me feeling GOOD.
Whether you struggle with your body image all day every day or feel like you're doing well and then spiral when you are hit with a bad body image moment - you'll find this episode relatable, practical, and healing.

Being able to 'just listen to your body' to eat with ease and peace may sound idyllic - except its anything but that simple if you've been in the trenches of diet culture for years and trying to claw your way out.
How can you possibly learn to listen and trust your body when there is so much noise coming from diet culture at every angle that pressures you to do the opposite? To follow meal plans and food rules and do anything except listen and trust your body.
How can you reconnect to your inner food voice after years of being conditioned to diet and living in an environment that isn't conducive to that?
Registered Dietitian, Julie Duffy Dillon, shares the answer with us in this episode. With over 2 decades of experience working with clients and helping them find their inner food voice as part of the journey of living with food + body peace, Julie walks you through how to overcome the obstacles diet culture puts in your and have a relationship with food that is navigated by the build in intuition you were born with to nourish yourself with confidence.

You've heard about ozempic, mounjaro, zepbound, and other GLP-1s for weight loss. But do you really know what they are doing to your body and the risks involved? Too many people are prescribed weight loss medication without informed consent. Meaning, they are given zero education on what these drugs actually do to the body, the risks involved, or what to do to manage and mitigate such risks.
While I personally don't endorse intentional pursuits of weight loss, I'm all for body autonomy. It's your choice what to do with your body and I don't believe in judging others for it.
But being prescribed a medication that alters how our body functions without the full information you need, is not the body autonomy that should be encouraged. It's not safe or ethical to push these medications without requiring medical professionals to be transparent in how they work [no, 'you'll be less hungry and lose weight' is not an explanation] and the risks involved [no, 'you may be nauseous' doesn't cut it].
In this episode, fellow registered dietitian, Kelli Yarn, shares with you her experience with GLP-1s patients, how they affect your body, the risks involved and what to do to prevent harm if someone is already taking GLP-1s.
This conversation is not here to tell you what to do with your body, it's here to educate you and prevent harm.
Whether you feel tempted to go on a GLP-1, want to learn more about it, or are someone [or know someone] who's taking it… this is the episode that everyone should listen to.
