The party must fight for their lives, as time dilation once again rears its ugly head.
Feather the angel commander has been transported to the world of Eldraine, chosen as some sort of kingly successor by the sword Embercleave, which somehow found itself in her possession as she won a duel against another rival.
In the hours it took the party to scramble their new portal and give chase, thirty years had passed on Eldraine for Feather. She became queen, slew the other rulers of the neighboring kingdoms with ruthless Ravnican efficiency, and even started a new family with bereaved king consort, Kenrith.
But in all this time, Feather never gave up hope she could one day return home. However, her ticket out would cost her everything she held dear; undoing not only her rash decisions that brought the plane to the brink of war, but unraveling the new life she'd built with love and care.
Only a Wish from a mysterious spirit locked within the overgrown stones of the Great Henge could (un)do all that, and this spirit wants Oko, the party's old frenemy, as payment. As themes of responsibility, abandonment and betrayal mount ever higher, will Feather make the right decision for herself, her kingdom and her family? Can she and the party even survive that long as they fight off an entire kingdom's worth of bloodthirsty elven separatists all converging on their doorstep in this perilous game of capture the flag?
Our heroes take their first foray into the vast multiverse with their perfected portal, hot on the heels of the missing angel known as Feather- who vanished into the ether after winning a duel with another hotshot angel using a magic sword, known as Embercleave.
Vali makes a promise, Alpha ages 40 years, and Gabriel comes THIS close to revenge.
Words come to blows as the enraged Lord Rakdos is moved to attack FORC after being egged on by his council of cohorts. What does Massacre Girl have against our heroes? What is she hiding? Will our heroes survive the onslaught of sheer starpower?
Alpha finally lets go, Johnny Dackson makes his triumphant return (and an important discovery), and Vali says goodbye for the second time.
The long night continues into day as the group leaves Alexia Redstream's soiree in Davriel Kane's magical self-driving stagecoach. Olivia Voldaren has taken over The Misfortunates' fair city of Havengul, and there's no Runo Stromkirk there to bail them out this time.
Sir Guimar dreams...of fire. Butler makes an old enemy into a new friend. Koot learns he has some unfinished business in town. Anna has a refreshing drink. :)
Our heroes have tracked down Rakdos Lord of Riots to his VIP box at the undercity arena, where Feather the boros angel commander is fighting for her life and her military title against challenger Basandra, Battle Seraph.
But it would seem the chaotic duo of planeswalkers Domri Rade and Ral Zarek have scheduled a bank heist for the same evening. What are the odds! And what motivated Ral Zarek to do such a thing?
Hasim makes his triumphant return, Alpha makes her most dangerous threat yet, and Vali makes sure his mom's okay.
Our heroes arrive at the lavish gala of Alexia Redstream, as the "new money" merchant queen holds a debutante ball at her misty manor outside Havengul. Anna needs information that Alexia has to save her sister from a fate worse than death, and Butler has a message he needs to deliver on behalf of a new contact. But all may not be as it appears at the manor, doubly so for the guests of honor...
Loren gets in over his head, Anna makes a new friend, and Butler finally tells us his name.
Having conspired with Blim the demon comedian to draw Rakdos out of hiding, our heroes are backstage at the undercity Theater Extraordinaire to put on a show so spectacular that Lord Rakdos himself will have to make an appearance. And then they can get the answers they so richly deserve.
The first 28 minutes or so of this episode are ROUGH because I didn't realize my mic was unplugged ;_; I am forever plagued by these issue. But fear not, as most of that was recap by me, which is still audible. A few tidbits from our players went missing, but nothing crucial was lost thankfully.
Well, this is the last of them. After this, my recordings are mostly normalized. At least this is the last recording where we can only hear the party and not the dm.
A shame, too because this was one of my favorite episodes. In a dungeon ripped right out of the Suffering Game, our heroes must face off against Braids dementia summoner in the Vault of Cataclan. Here are my notes from that particular day.
STORM THE VAULT
-The vault of cataclan is a pay to play dungeon portal, opened by sacrificing 50,000 gold pieces and opening it wherever you choose. The vault of cataclan is an extra dimensional space.
Braids, dementia summoner is there as well. She used her NIGHTMARE powers to transubstantiate her and her pirate crew into this dreamlike space. All the traps and enemies cost money to activate and also to circumvent. You are separated from braids and her crew by magical glass. There are two or three prisoners dilemma style puzzles that require you to make deals with braids as they go thru their own puzzles and encounters in the mirrored dungeon.
-At the end, lies the vault itself. See: TIME VAULT. A walk through a frozen magical school to find teferi and narset. Opening the vault blasts y’all with Time magic. This makes braids into blue braids and whoever opened the vault affected by weird time magic.
-Use the wheel/sacrifice rooms from the suffering game. The rooms are administrated by an impartial but fair gold golem. The sacrifices are meant to fuel the vault itself. Halfway through the dungeon, braids breaks in and kills the admin, taking over. She is decidedly more sadistic. She uses her nightmare powers to pull ragavan in as a competing challenger, and the party will now have to reason with a monkey during the prisoner’s dilemma segments.
At this point I've written off the entire practice of uploading these old recordings entirely. You can hear all the players, but nothing from the DM. I have no idea why only my mic isn't working here. I suppose the universe just hates me. Here it is anyway for posterity.
