Chapter 2: BC’s search-and-rescue teams pushed to their limits

Everyone decided to explore the outdoors when the pandemic shut travel down and the result was the busiest year on record for search-and-rescue teams.

There’s 79 teams in the province and they were collectively deployed almost 2,000 times between now and April of last year, about 25 percent more than the previous year.

Chapter 3: Consequences coming for restaurants that defy public health orders 

We saw some of the most flagrant health restriction violations from a restaurant since the pandemic began this weekend. Corduroy Restaurant in Kitsilano continued to offer in-person dining, and video surfaced of inspectors actually getting booed out of the building! Public Safety Minister Mike Farnsworth’s office released a statement saying there would be “consequences” but no action was taken at the time.
