Chapter 1: It’s been a year since the US was brought to a near-standstill by the coronavirus and U.S. President Joe Biden used his first prime-time address to announce his plan to make all adults vaccine-eligible by May 1.

Chapter 2: Thailand and at least 9 European countries have now hit the pause button on their use of the Astrazeneca covid-19 vaccine, but that doesn’t mean there are plans to stop using the vaccine in Canada.

Chapter 3: Former chief of defense Gen. Jonathan Vance is facing allegations of harassment and inappropriate behaviour with two female subordinates. These allegations are the latest in recent reports of misconduct and sexual harassment within the Canadian Armed Forces.  It’s not just in the public realm that these allegations happen.

Chapter 4: Freedom of information request reveals salary of newly hired deputy chief at the Surrey Police Service. The base salary is higher than the salaries of some senior RCMP officers. Chapter 5: Prince Rupert is responding to criticism from the public over its accelerated COVID-19 vaccination plan.  In the majority of the province, vaccine appointments are only available to B.C.'s oldest residents, but the decision was made in Prince Rupert to offer shots to all adults in the area between mid-March and early April.

Chapter 6: The BC Real Estate Association says home sales have moved at a rapid pace in February. The sales are up just over 89 percent compared to the same time last year.  That’s not the only thing that’s gone up as the average price for a home has gone up to almost $890,000.

Chapter 1: Challenging... terrifying... discouraging... rollercoaster.  Those are a few words used by front-line health-care workers across Canada to describe the coronavirus pandemic... which marks one-year as of this week.

Chapter 2: Starting today at noon, seniors aged 85 and up, Indigenous elders aged 65 and up, and those assisting them can start booking. That wasn't set to happen until Monday. Health Minister Adrian Dix made the announcement in a last minute press conference yesterday.

Chapter 3: With the Green/COPE majority in favor and the NPA minority opposed, the Vancouver Park Board has decided to bring back the temporary bike lane in Stanley Park this summer.  The vote was 5-2 last night.  The bike lane eliminates one lane of traffic for cars and a number of parking spots, something businesses in the Park oppose saying they desperately need the traffic to survive financially

Chapter 4: A Freedom of Information request shows one of the newly hired deputy chiefs for the Surrey Police Service is making a base salary of 235-thousand-dollars a year and up to 321-thousand with benefits...more than the Premier and more than senior RCMP members.

Chapter 5: While you can purchase live spot prawns by the pound from local fishmongers, direct from the boats at docks in Vancouver at Granville Island, Richmond in Steveston, and Delta in Ladner, or at grocery stores, one key part of the business is the frozen-at-sea spot prawns.  An interpretation of a new ruling by the DFO, however, would find the sale of any spot prawns frozen-at-sea illegal.
