0:00 - Even though the Spurs didn't have Wemby, that was a HUGE win for the Nuggets last night. A signature win. 2nd night of back-to-back. Down 20 points. They gritted their teeth and battled back. That's absolutely the mentality you need heading into the playoffs.

15:18 - The new guys are having an immediate impact! Both Nicolas Roy and Naz Kadri scored last night in Colorado's thumping of the Kraken. (Put an asterisk next to Kadri being "new" but still). The pieces that the Avalanche added at the trade deadline are already contributing. Good, because the Dallas freakin Stars STILL WON'T LOSE! Avs need to keep winning like their life depends on it. Which it does.

29:41 - Oh, by the way...Miami (OH) MBB had still better make the Big Dance even though they got bounced early from their conference tournament. Oh, by the way...Tage Thompson ripped 5 consecutive one-timers on the same power play. Oh, by the way...a golfer wasn't allowed to make his last putt of the day because the sun had already gone down too far. He has to wait until this morning to finish.

That was such an important game for the Nuggets. Everyone contributed! Cam Johnson, Spencer Jones, Julian Strawther, you name it. All hands on deck.

14:49 - The Avs shook off the Edmonton loss by smacking the Kraken last night in Seattle. While the win is good, Brett has a more imporant takeaway from the game: Scott Wedgewood is this team's #1 goalie. No knock on Blackwood. But Wedgewood is just better.

35:28 - The Jaguars Wunderkind Doogie Howser-looking GM (who's actually named James Gladstone) explained why they aren't being too aggressive during Free Agency. And his reasoning actually makes sense. Maybe the Broncos are doing the same thing?

0:00 - What a win for the Nuggets last night! That was GREAT seeing them run up the score against a good team on their home court. Ain't no rest for the wicked, though. They're in San Antonio tonight. The Avs are back at it against the Kraken in Seattle. A double dip-a-roo means we need to get a double KEYS-a-roo to the game. 

13:38 - Fernando Tatis Jr pimped a home run in the WBC like we've never seen anyone pimp a homer before. And Brett is so here for it. We need more showboating in baseball.
After that, the Avs keep winning...but so do the Stars! The Avs can't seem to reap the rewards of their wins. Things always get screwy when they play Seattle. You can't have that tonight. Shake off the Edmonton win and get right back after it. 

31:27 - The Nuggets are headed to San Antonio for a back-to-back against the 2nd team in the West/one of the hottest teams in the entire league right now. The odds are stacked against the Nuggets. You might call it a good ol' "scheduled loss." These are the games that the Nuggets used to thrive in. This year, we're not sure. They've been very hit or miss with their backs against the wall. Even though Wemby may or may not play tonight (he's a gametime decision) it'll be a tough battle either way.

0:00 - I know it sounds crazy, but the Nuggets are still figuring things out. They've had so many guys get hurt, then come back, then get hurt, then come back, then get hurt, then co- well, you get it. Point is, they've barely had any consistency in the lineup. Coach Adelman said it himself. He feels like they're starting the season over again right now, as their lineup is finally mostly healthy.
If that's the case, last night was a good preseason game! They blew out the Rockets in Ball Arena, and guys like CB and Cam Johnson looked like their old selves.

14:19 - As we've said earlier, Brett has become Veruca Salt with the Broncos. I WANT A GOLDEN GOOSE! I WANT IT NOW, DADDY! But by Golden Goose, we mean ANY SORT OF FREE AGENT SIGNING THAT GIVES YOU A WEAPON ON OFFENSE! Does Jeff Legwold agree? How does Leggy feel about Denver's lack of moves thus far?

32:22 - Oh, by the way...there's actually golf happening right now! The Players Championship! Oh, by the way...Vinnie Pasquantino of Team Italy hit 3 home runs yesterday and took 3 shots of espresso. Dude was literally and figuratively buzzing. Oh, by the way...is Will Ferrell washed?

0:00 - Now THAT'S what I'm talkin' about! The Nuggets blew out the Rockets 129-93 last night at Ball Arena. Doesn't matter if Houston was on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. A win like that is a big deal. It was a full, complete team effort. We needed to see that ESPECIALLY at this point in the season.

15:04 - Brett has officially become Veruca Salt with the Broncos and their lack of moves during Free Agency. DADDY! I WANT A GOLDEN GOOSE! Or a usable weapon on offense.

36:26 - Team USA has advanced in the WBC, even though their manager doesn't understand how the bracket works! Italy obliterated Mexio, and because of the run differential, it was enough to send USA to the next round. Thanks Italy!

0:00 - The Nuggets are hosting the Rockets tonight at Ball. Then they immediately hit the road to face the Spurs in San Antonio tomorrow. Oof. That's a tough two nights. But hey, let's go one game at a time. What are the keys to a Nuggets victory tonight against Kevin Durant and his burners?

11:05 - The Ravens DEFINITELY backed out of their deal with Maxx Crosby because Trey Hendrickson became available for a cheaper price. That has to be it. That's incredibly shady. But then again, these "physicals" that sports teams conduct during trades are all "sus" as the youths would say. Did MPJ's back pass a physical when the Nuggets wanted him? Did Peyton Manning's neck pass a physical when the Broncos wanted him? Who knows?
Also, Bam Adebayo's 83-point game was completely fabricated and is disrespectful to the league. 

29:31 - Moser took one for the team. And by "took one," I mean he shoved a cup full of powdered coffee creamer directly into his mouth.

0:00 - Last night, Nathan MacKinnon getting a 5-minute major and game misconduct (which comes with an automatic ejection) for goalie interference was the tip of the iceberg. The Avs ended up on the wrong side of the whistle all night long. Now we're not alleging anything. BUT, Brett has a stat that suggests the lead official might have it out for the Avs.
Oh, and it's not just us who thought Mack's penalty was egregious and unwarranted. The TNT crew agreed, including Tukka Rask. Y'know, the Boston Bruins goalie for like 15 years who has a Stanley Cup ring. 

11:29 - Oh, by the way...the Broncos STILL haven't done anything in free agency. Is Brett allowed to panic yet? Oh, by the way...the Hartford Yard Goats are introducing a hotdog + donut monstrosity in honor of Taylor Swift Night at the ballpark. Oh, by the way...did you know yelling 90s songs at the top of your lungs is a good free throw distraction technique?

25:40 - Bedsie was fired up last night about MacKinnon's penalty and ejection. Has his mind changed at all after a good night's sleep? Let's also pick his brain about the game as a whole, and get an injury update on guys like Landy and LOC.

0:00 - Yesterday, the Avalanche lost to the Oilers at Ball Arena. In the loss, Nathan MacKinnon was assessed a game misconduct for goalie interference and ejected from the game late in the 2nd period. But he didn't intentionally slam into the goalie. He was very clearly shoved into him by Darnell Nurse. I guess the NHL and the Ref saw it differently. Horrible call by the officials, and Jared Bednar thought so as well.

17:33 - The Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade because of a failed physical and sent him back to the Raiders. Then...the Ravens immediately signed Trey Hendrickson. This is fishy...very very fishy...
Then, Team Italy beat Team USA in the World Baseball Classic and we're not sure what to do with our hands. Vic's stoked though.

36:25 - Bam Adebayo scored 83 points last night, officially passing Kobe Bryant's 81-point game. The only player who's scored more points in a single game is Wilt the Stilt with 100. But here's the thing...Bam's 83 points feels like a sham. Bam's a scam.

0:00 - What's wrong with the Nuggets right now? Is it coaching? Is it the roster? What's the solution to their problems?

12:49 - The Broncos NEED to add more weapons on offense this offseason. Non-negotiable. But don't hammer the panic button just because they didn't add a Free Agent RB in the first day of free agency. They still have some tricks up their sleeves.But if we get to training camp and they still have these holes in the roster, THEN we can start being concerned.

31:20 - Since the Olympic Break, the Avs have lost 1 game. That's it. 1 game. The Cartoon Game vs Minnesota. They went to their room. 2 minutes for being bad. They need to keep riding the wave tonight at Ball Arena as they host the Edmonton Oilers on Pickleball Night.

0:00 - If you lose to the Thunder in OKC and play em hard, you can live with that. SGA hit 2 clutch shots with a defender's hand in his face. He did what he does. That'll happen sometimes. BUT, last night, the Thunder were missing multiple bigs, and you got beat in the paint. Outscored by OKC's backup bigs! In the paint! With AG, Jokic, Val, etc. That can't happen. Losing wasn't the problem last night. HOW they lost was the problem!

16:47 - If the Broncos do nothing else this offseason, they NEED another RB for depth. That's not a knock on the newly re-signed JK Dobbins. But he can't stay healthy for a full season. You need to prepare for the half of the season when he's not playing. Are there any free agent RBs left?

35:05 - Oh, by the way...we can't stop watching the WBC. Oh, by the way...the NBA made the Atlanta Hawks cancel their Magic City promotion night. Oh, by the way...Italy's baseball team has an espresso machine in their dugout and they're ripping shots after they rip home runs.
