romantic vampire story

I got this book for free and was positively surprised! While it holds some elements, that you might also find in other vampire novels, this story is nevertheless creative and captivating. I liked how the relationship between the main characters evolves and how they both grow stronger trough their time together. I also found the ending quite romantic :-)

I am not a fan of vampire stories but I loved this one. The romance was strong and compelling. Kudos to Ms. Lee, she did a wonderful job creating this world and making me believe in true love.

NOT AN INTERRACIAL ROMANCE!!!!!

I give it two stars because it had a great opening but it wasn't an interracial story. They were both Caucasian in description. I got it through Kindle Unlimited and returned it for not being the genre it was supposed to be. I hate when books are put in this category that aren't.

Boring Miss Trentwood

What a snoozer.Took all I had to finish the book.The narrator did a good job mimicking the English accent,but you could'nt tell(at times)whether they were male or female.A peck on the mouth us all the romance you'll get too,the only saving grace to the whole story is the dead and haunting father"Mr.Trentwood"is the only interesting(some what)person in the entire story in my opinion.

Nice Story, Weak Romance

This story was billed as a "sci fi romance", and from the sci fi and world building aspect it was done well. The explanations of the world were fairly easy to follow and made sense. The action part of the plot rolled through smoothly for me, and was exciting enough. The hero was properly heroic.

Strangely enough, what lost me wasn't the technicalities of the setting, or the strategies of the villains. It was the romance I didn't really get. There wasn't really a build up in the traditional sense. When the "in love" stage arrived, I was wondering how on earth they'd gotten to that point. Put succinctly, the author told me the two main characters were in love, but I didn't really "feel" that love.

With that huge hunk missing for me, it was still a decent book, and I don't regret listening to it. The narration and editing were done well.

could have been alot better

What disappointed you about A Line in the Ice?

The narrator was horrible. I hate to admit it but a female narrator cannot do a male voice. If it wasnt for the horrible accents the narrator gave to people, i wouldnt have been able to tell who was who. The story itself could have been alot better. there needed to be more back story to the rift, characters and the other side. too much time was spent in the ice base and not enough time about the rift, the enimies and the other creatures. this could have been easily made into a series.

it makes me alot more hesitant to buy a book that has a female narrator.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

you couldnt hear the different expressions that each character experienced. it was like she was struggling to just keep their voices the same and was unable to express anything else.

Great read for young teens!

I loved all the series of the books. The romance between the two characters are very clean. The only thing that I didn't like is that the books are so drawn out, and I'm not a huge reader, so I have to read something that's going to keep my attention early on in the book. The first book Fallen is my favorite ad did just that! The other books just became so redundant with the two relationship that it got a little boring, Lucy was so wishy washy, back and forth it was ok the first book, but got irritating through the other books.

Loved it! I couldn't stop turning the pages as the story kept surprising me at every turn!

How much can the past affect the future?

Daniel brings Luce home to her parents to celebrate Thanksgiving, but when her parents for their after dinner walk, and Luce, her angel friends, her demon friends, two of her Nephilim friends and her best friend from her first boarding school are trying to clean up the blind Outcasts came to take her away. Instead of going with them or risking them killing any of her friends, she opens an Announcer and travels to her past to see all the details she can't recall of the lives she and Daniel have shared. She sees herself in England going up in flames and in Egypt and in China. She watches both the falling in love of herself and the current manifestation of Daniel, to the demise when she goes up in flames, to the aftermath for all the people who loved her before she died. She sees Daniel and how he deals with her death and how much it tears him apart each time he loses her. Each past self teaches her something, but none of them seem to put the whole story together of the why she goes up in flames. Sometimes it is their first kiss, sometimes they have done more than kiss, sometimes they haven't even touched yet. Something happens each and every time, but she is still missing an integral piece of the puzzle.

As she travels from Announcer to Announcer and goes further and further into her past she picks up a Gargoyle named Bill who says he is there to help her. He never lets himself be seen by the angels in any of the lifetimes, but he pulls strings and makes it so she can safely live in each of the times for either a few moments or for days. Something about him feels wrong, but she is so glad to have someone with her on this journey that she doesn't always see or feel the discrepancy. He tells her the way to solve her current problem is to kill her soul so she can go back to Daniel in her present and she will be safe.

Daniel meanwhile is racing after her, always arriving just a little bit too late, but also seeing their shared past from a new perspective.

A lovely, emotional read

This is one of those books that I feel dumb for not reading sooner. I have had it on my kindle since it came out. For some reason though, I thought this was a Romantic Suspense novel, and could never find the right mood to hit me to read this book. Little did I know that this book was all kinds of magic. As the author told me when I confessed that I thought it was romantic suspense, it is that, but it's also paranormal romance, and time travel. Sounds crazy, but it totally works.

Keva and Rife are so different from each other that I didn't see how a romance between them could work. But work it does, and in spades. This is one of those rare books where I feel like no matter what I write, I won't do the book justice. I loved the Native American aspect of the book, and how it combined magic with practically. Keva was just well awesome. I loved how she tried to stay one step ahead of the guy after her, how remorseful she felt of the actions that made her immortal, and has to make a decision that could cost her happiness. It was an emotional read that I didn't expect and I loved how nicely the time travel fit in with everything. Out of all of the books I've read by Misty Evans this one is by far my favorite. If you are looking for something outside the box when it comes to paranormal romance, then I highly recommend this book. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful Romance! A Must Read!

I love the way Misty Evans gives you a little sexy fun between Rife and Keva, before Keva has to tell Rife who he really is, and things get serious. Rife can't understand why his desire for Keva is so strong. He can't be next to her without losing all control, and this is driving him crazy. After all, he is a professional FBI profiler. But Keva knows the truth about Rife, and she's waited a thousand years to reunite with him--her reincarnated soul mate, Kai, and to correct the wrong she's believes she done a thousand years ago that destroyed her people. And she's waited for the only man she's ever loved--Kai who's come back as Rife. Enann, who's Kai's half-brother, has also waited a thousand years to take his revenge on Reva and Kai.

I fell in love with Keva and Rife. Keva is strong-willed, beautiful, and a sexy women. umm ok

The story line was OK, but I had the hardest time getting through it because the narrator's voice was extremely annoying. It sounded like she was on the verge of having laryngitis. The first half of the story drove me nuts and I probably will never listen to a book by this narrator again.

Sola is a daughter of a dictator that wants to rule the Universe and has created psychopathic children that will rule after he dies. Javan was a war hero that was manipulated by the dictator. This is a short story that tells how they fell in love and the beginning of the a change in the universe.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

it's a good story of its kind, exposition speeches are probably a little too long. Maybe author should have tried to weave some of those into the story line.

Would you ever listen to anything by Diane Dooley again?

yeah, anybody who can this kind of dialog without giggling is a pretty good actor in my book

this is the sort of story I probably would have put down if reading. Gina got me to the end

Sex, slavery, and psychopathy. What ever happened to a good story. At tleast the fantasy was intergalactic.
