Great Story!
Shadow of the Blood Moon, the second in the Blood Moon Series is the continued story of Genevieve Labreckâs race to save her mother from the evil Zane. The journey takes the seventeen-year-old to the Czech Republic, where she is publicly accused of several murders. Even William seems to believe she is a bloodthirsty monster.
The author, Robin Waldrop, hit her stride with this one. No one can compare this book to the Twilight Series (not without losing all credibility). The story is unique and riveting. There is enough action and plot twists to keep anyone turning the page. The characters were very well developed and scene description was vivid.
Gen has grown up a lot. I could relate to her much better than in the first book. Her feelings and reactions are no longer completely self-involved. Genâs struggle over decisions in impossible situations made her a much more empathetic heroine. Sheâs still Gen, just more likable, which makes the relationships of the love triangle more believable. There is something for the guys to love. Waldrop didn't completely abandon the mystical angle between Gen, William and Joseph, though. She just backed it up with real people. I tend to favor Joseph. William is way too moody. William and Joseph are slowly becoming Will and Joe, while Gen is more often called Genevieve. Iâm not sure how I feel about that. I guess Genâs name change makes sense, given her position. I can even see Joseph calling William, Will. The one I have a problem with is Joseph. Joe is justâ It feels awkward but new things often do. Iâll have to see with the next book.
That was the good; now the bad. Editing. Misspelled words, extra words, misused words, missing commas and missing words were fairly common. As much as I read, I expect a few errors but this was well past the norm. However, I wouldn't let that dissuade you from reading the book. Itâs well worth your time.
Overall, this installment of The Blood Moon Series is wonderful. The characters, description and plot are outstanding. I canât wait for book 3 to be released in a few weeks.
Enjoyable!
I read this book, and the first, within a week of downloading it. I enjoyed how this story has progressed and interested to see where the third book will take it! The writing (editing) of the book is better which makes it an easier read than the first book. The story line continues to give you twists and turns to keep you reading. I enjoyed the honest feelings Gen is battling throughout the story and the surprise twist of family that happens for her. I would encourage people who enjoy a good vampire and werewolf romance to read this series!
Shadow of the Blood Moon
I enjoyed this book! It was non stop action , with little surprises in between.
