I found the series worth the time, enjoyed the plot change-ups

Interesting read, lots of plot twists.

Loved the series!

Resa is a local author and i loved the series. I hope to see more of her work. If you like fantasy and swords this is the series for you.

This is a superbly written and well thought out finale to the series!

The Dragon's Egg was an incredibly entertaining read and I found Resa Nelson back on track as a dynamic, down to earth writer in this book. Cover to cover, I could hardly set this down to do the things I had to do in my real life world - so appealing to me was the place Nelson took me. Characters great - check, Settings wonderful - check, story line tight and well written - check,, fitting conclusion - CHECK! Throughout this volume there are twists and turns and even some surprises while Nelson takes us and teaches us some of the values of life. If you've read the others, don't hesitate to get this book. It's worth it!

disappointing

the first book in this series was good, the 2nd was ok (getting it for free helped me like it even better), the 3rd i could barely read because it just rambled on with not much story to all the description and i almost stopped reading in frustration with the main character being so foolish, over and over, and this final book was ok - disappointing but ok, and the title quite misleading because there is very little indeed about the dragon's egg.

My suggestion to the author would be to combine the last 3 books, get a good editor and tell the story without all the repetition and needless description that adds nothing to the tale and make one solid book instead of 3 rambling & repetitive ones, and let your main character be smart instead of foolish. As someone who reads a lot, and who can't give up on a story unless it's really bad, i get really annoyed with authors who string me along like this and then leave me hanging. I really debated about giving 1 or 2 stars but didn't because i do love the premise of the story. However, I won't be lead down the same rosy path by this author again.

Wonderful

I just finished the final book. Once I started, I couldn't stop until I finished them all! Well written, and slightly different from how a 'typical' dragon fiction story reads. As I read the final couple of pages, it literally gave me goosebumps. I had planned on moving on to another author after reading this, but then I got a taste of the next series which looks to be a continuation, several years down the road. So to whoever reads this review, I feel pretty confident in suggesting the dragonfly series too!

Title: Sinners of Water & Fire

Subtitle: Sinners, Book 4

Author: Charity Parkerson

Narrator: Karl Steudel

Format: Unabridged

Length: 3 hrs and 31 mins

Language: English

Release date: 04-02-14

Publisher: Charity Parkerson

Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 1 votes

Genres: Romance, Fantasy

Publisher's Summary:

Their love was legendary, cursed, and forbidden.

The fates conspired to keep them apart, but destiny will bring them together again... When one of their own becomes the target of a demon bent on revenge, the Society will do anything to keep her safe, including stealing a God from the Heavens. Heru, son of Geb, once sold his soul to forget her, and now he'll give anything to keep her safe. Gods and Demons collide in the final installment of Charity Parkerson's award-winning Sinners series.

Members Reviews:

Since almost the beginning of time there have been Vampires, but not in the way we have been led to believe...

...Along with Gods, Monsters, Angel warriors, Druid priests, and humans who love or hate them.

The vision of the paranormal that Charity Parkerson has painted in her "Society of Sinners" series is rich with many different metaphysical entities, most of them "with a twist." "Sinners of Water and Fire" steps it up a notch and adds gods to the forefront of the story.

Marissa, daughter of Alain and Adriana, and Heru, son of Geb, are the main characters in this book. From the beginning, their romance seems impossible. As the story unfolds, and they finally can get together, more obstacles arise between them; and the inner conflict of Heru's makes the "happy end" seem like a very remote probability.

However, when reading their story, I had no doubt Marissa and Heru will overcome whatever comes their way. The reason for it being, they are not alone. Marissa's family and their friends are willing to put their lives on the line for them, very literally. This is, in my humble opinion, is one of the threads that ties the "Sinners" books together and makes them an enjoyable read - friendship and loyalty. In addition to love, of course; this is a romance, after all.

Characters from earlier installments make appearances and play a pivotal part in the action. Lena and Dan is, by far, my favorite couple in the series, the one I had been rooting for the most, so I was glad to see that they had a pretty major role to play here.

The storyline's build up to the final confrontation is probably the most epic, compared to the previous books. The resolution, on the other hand, almost seems subdued and gentle by comparison, as if to emphasize that no matter how great is the opposition, nothing can stand against love, loyalty, and faith the protagonists have in each other and their friends.

The characterization in "Sinners of Water and Fire" is probably the best out of all the Charity Parkerson's books to this point. Marissa comes through as a real person, which sets off her divine background very well. Heru is not just a hunk of meat but a man, suffering but unbroken; the occasional strong language in his inner monologue gives him a very unique flavor.

Some very neat turns of phrase show off the author's craft as well. For example:

â "...they looked like a Scottish clan of fallen angels."

Gives an immediate word picture. What else is there to describe?

Or:

â "Bloody freaking hell, Samuel, wear a bell, would ya?"

Shows off a character more than half a page of a description would. The last example is said by Tam the pixie.

Five Stars

So glad this is available in Kindle format now so I will reread it.

I owned the original paperback.

We had some water damage some years ago but I kept the book so I wouldn't forget to try and find a new copy. Was happy to see it in mobi! This was my favorite time travel from back in the day and I read it several times. I loved the Celtic connection and the creepy aspects. SInce I read a lot, a book that stands out over time is pretty special in my eyes.

The Best Paranormal Romance Author!

A renowned researcher conducting ancient Druid time-travel rituals, a Celtic warrior trapped in the modern world, and a woman trying to learn the truth of her sisterâs disappearance. Put them all together and it makes for one fantastic read! The Night Orchid is another fantastic paranormal romance novel written by author, Patricia Simpson.

Patricia Simpson is an author who is able to capture her readerâs attention within just the first few pages of her books. The characters in her books come alive with each turn of the page. I have had the pleasure of reading most of Ms. Simpsonâs books and I have never once been disappointed. By far, my favorite paranormal romance author!

could have been better

I expected more scifi themed and less rural country setting but it was alright didnt like some of male heros thoughts they were conflicting but the editing was better than most on amazon only a few mistakes

Time Travel at its finest!

This book hooks you from the first sentence. Meet Alek, an ancient Gaul warrior, and Marissa, a modern day cattle rancher. Get caught up in the way their paths cross and how they must learn to trust and work together to stop a doctor who has no problem using other lives to further his own agenda. I enjoy all Patricia Simpson's books. One of the best in the paranormal romance genre!

Maxwell Magic, an eccentric mysterious matchmaker swears it can and he's the man to provide the stimulus to make it happen. Kasey Bell, feminist writer, and Guy McLane, radio's famous chauvinistic psychiatrist, are his targets. Even with carefully executed plans, the road to true love is strewn with mishaps, mirth and money-hungry nighttime talk show hosts. Will Kasey and Guy risk their reputations by exposing secrets buried beneath layers of shame and self-doubt for a desperately needed big money pay-off? Or, will they claim what has evaded them their entire lives - a love that lasts forever?

Members Reviews:

Terrific Read!

Kasey Bell is determined to remain a feminist and is dedicated to destroying all male myths and prototypes, yet, Maxwell Magic believes in true love and likes to match up the unmatchable. During a face-off between Kasey and Guy sparks fly.

Woven with skill, this tale of the sexes is filled with warmth and magic. A must read for those who like a little paranormal romance coupled with a battle between one man and one woman who fall hopelessly in love.

Battle of the Sexes

Maxwell Magic believes in true love and has dedicated himself to matching up unmatchable people, but there are few people more disparate than Kasey Bell and Dr. Guy McLane.

Kasey Bell's disastrous marriage turned her into a feminist. As a bestselling author, she is devoted to debunking all myths of the male mystique.

Guy McLane, singed by his first marriage, is a psychiatrist with a popular radio show. A man's man, his advice to other males infuriates Kasey, especially since her two teenage sons love Guy's show.

When a contest is set up on national television between Kasey and Guy, both are determined to prove their points and win. There are plenty of fireworks in this story as the battle of the sexes rages.

Yet, despite the high stakes, this endearing tale was filled with heartwarming moments as Kasey and Guy discovered each other's strengths as well as weaknesses.

Cross and DeLeon have penned a wonderful story. I highly recommend it!

Teen version of Bound by Danger!! LOVED it!!!

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***Received a code from the author to listen to and review the audio version of the book

The cover is cute and reminds you of teen love.

I listened to this right after another book narrated by Maria. It was nice because I was used to her as a narrator, and I really like her now that Ive listened to a couple books narrated by her. I listened to this book without my son because he wanted more fantasy and less real, but I absolutely that it was awesome.

I really loved this story!! This is the young version of Deidre Roux which I thought was awesome because I listened to a book about the adult Deidre Roux where I already fell in love with her as a character. So if you are an adult, look for Bound by Danger to follow this book up. I love the thought of psychic powers and wish I had some of my own. Deidre is still strong and amazing that she wants to help anyone and everyone she has a vision about.

I really hope Terry writes more books about Deidre whether it is the young adult version or the adult version because I loved every minute of both books.

I highly recommend this book to YA lovers who want to believe in psychic powers being real :)

YA suspense

Where does Deidre's Secret rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

I loved this story so it ranks right near the top.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Deidre's Secret?

When Deidre was underwater fighting for her life.

Which scene was your favorite?

Deidre decides to dress up as a girl scout and sell cookies to plant a listening device in the bank robber's house.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Deidre saved a teacher from choking and a kid from getting bullied no matter the cost.

Any additional comments?

This is a fast moving story that the stakes keep getting higher and higher. I was on the edge of my seat rooting for Deidre. The characters are lovable and very driven. I especially liked the aunt even though she didn't have that much of a part in this story. Great suspenseful storytelling.

A Fantasy Mystery

Would you consider the audio edition of Winter Sparrow to be better than the print version?

I loved the pacing of the audio book. I think it lent to the mystery of the story more than just the text alone.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Winter Sparrow?

After the crash, was the most confusing part of the whole mystery and when I was most worried for the main character. It was exciting and surprisingly scary.

What does Misty Daugherty bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Misty Daugherty gave the book an appropriate pace for the mystery I didn't realize I was getting myself into with this book. It was slow enough that I could catch the things that didn't quite fit in and try to piece together what was going on. She gave a depth to the characters with the distinct voices appropriate to each character.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

What's the price of wings?

Any additional comments?

I was delighted that this story did not just lay out Mary's history in a clear and defined way. It slowly revealed more information and didn't explain everything in a way that has become tiring to read. This was a great fantasy mystery that I look forward to reading again.

A Great Interlude Between Fae Hunter and Fae Guradian

Understanding that without readingFae Hunter (Soulstealer Trilogy #1)before this book your understanding of things will be a bit confusing. Since I have read that book and plan to continue with the story withFae Guardian (Soulstealer Trilogy #2)this was a great novella to give you some details on what apparently will be two of the characters to show up in book 2. Be aware this is a story pretty much complete and not exactly a cliffhanger ending but it does lead into book 2 to get full appreciation. Enjoy this and the other books in this series, great reading and great plot. For those who have read book 1 this is the continuing story of Kit the half-human/half-Selkie from book 1 and she grows up fast :)
