Loved The Thrust
Loved the entire trilogy. Shoshanna Evers really mixed the dystopian/post-apocalyptic with the romance/erotic in this series. The Thrust was a terrific conclusion to the trilogy.
I've read every book she's put out there and they're all great reads.
Action-Packed, Gripping Ride!
Although this book can stand alone as the last of a trilogy, I highly recommend that you read the first two books before reading this one because then the ending will be so much more meaningful and that much sweeter.
Set in a post-apocalyptic America, The Thrust mainly tracks one couple's growing interest in one another as their uncertain future unfolds in the face of overthrowing a tyrannical leadership abusing its authority in a FEMA camp. Able-bodied men, no matter the background, are recruited as soldiers while the females without families are paid with rations for sexual favors.
Clarissa is one of these women who was fortunate enough to escape in Book Two. Just as she dips a toe in the waters to overcome her crippled trust in men in the last book, her budding attachment to the male love interest dies along with him. Enters Trent, one of the spokesmen of a community rebuilding independent of the camps and any assistance from the UN one year late.
Upon hearing of the conditions of the deplorable FEMA camp and news that his sister Annie is among the women forced to sell their bodies, the community holds council and develops a plan to free the camp. Emily and Christopher from Book One re-enter. Jenna and Ken's story continues. We find out what happens to Evan and Annie as well.
Although not the usual BDSM-flavored read, this action-packed post-apocalyptic dystopian romance has some emotional love scenes coupled with the happy ending I've come to expect of Shoshanna's stories.
Loved It
Well where to start......I will start off saying that Shoshanna did a great job. Trent and Clarissa's story was very heroic, brave, emotional. Clarissa has demons to overcome and faces her fears. Trent is just an amazing man with a big heart who has lost his wife to the pulse and thought he lost his sister too. If you have not read The Pulse or The Escape you should read them first. You will not be disappointed because Shoshanna brings Emily and Mason and Jenna and Barker, Annie and Evan into this book lots of action and a perfect ending to the series.
