This week I talk with Jordan Rios about mindset, motherhood, and entrepreneurship. She shares how she juggles it all with 6 children, with number 7 on the way! Tune in for some amazing mindset tips to help you start living your best mom life.
Here are the key takeaways:
1. Self sacrifice in motherhood to the point you lose yourself, it benefits no one. Hear it. Internalize it, because it's the truth.
2. Mom guilt is universal but it doesn't have to be your reality. You choose what you think about yourself as a mother. Pay attention to your internal dialogue about yourself as a woman and a mom.
3. Being in control of your thoughts and paying attention to your feelings makes all the difference. Ask yourself, "What is the thought behind these feelings?" What do you desire to be true? Choose your thoughts that will push you towards success and your feelings will catch up. Your thoughts create your feelings, your feelings create your actions. Your actions create your results. You just have to start with your thoughts.
4. Be mindful of what you're modeling for your children. Do you want them believe they can do anything? Show them in your own life.
5. Own your personal identity as a mom. Focus on what you're good at, capitalize on those things, and stop comparing yourself to what you see on social media.
6. We're all chasing the idea of balance. Balance looks different for each person and different in each season. What daily routine feels good? You're never going to give yourself too much grace. Sometimes we find balance when we let go of the idea of finding balance. You'll know it when you find it.
7. You don't need permission to set down the things that are not serving you. You can start doing thing differently today.
8. If you have a dream in your heart, it's possible. If you can imagine it, it's possible. The people you are called to serve need you.
9. In business, outsource and do it EARLY. From household help to administrative tasks - pass off what you can even before you're even making money.
10. If you're afraid of the next step, ask yourself, "Am I okay being in the same place by doing this same thing 5, 10, or 20 years down the road? Am I okay with that or do I need to pivot?"

I'm so thrilled to have Mary back AGAIN, this time with a topic that she pitched that I found so important to share. In this episode, Mary shares her experience taking and ultimately getting off of anti-anxiety meds and the advice she offered an expecting mom online seeking input on whether to pursue medication to help get through the intense feelings she had been experiencing. She also shares the tools she has learned to navigate anxiety, along with a healthy serving of reminding us we are so much more capable than we give ourselves credit for.
The book Mary recommended is: At Last a Life by Paul David

This week, I am so excited to welcome my very first friend in childhood, Emily! Emily and I were literally in diapers when we met and I'm so honored she is joining us to share her IVF story and journey into motherhood. Emily breaks the whole IVF process down including all of the ups and downs of finally welcoming their sweet son, Parker. She also shares her personal experience as a daycare kid herself and now utilizing daycare as she works full time. Here are the key takeaways:1. IVF is an incredible journey with a multitude of ups and downs, but it is incredibly worth the physical and emotional demands, the time, and the effort once that sweet baby arrives. 2. Daycare provides amazing opportunities for your little ones. They learn from other children in their classes, yes, even as babies, and experience activities designed to expand their little minds in their specific stage of development.3. Beware the daycare plague. Your child will get sick and often in the first year of daycare. They will even share the plague with you at times. It is not a reflection on the facility or its cleanliness, it's just part of being in daycare. 4. There is no shame in putting your children in daycare. As adults, Emily and I both have very fond memories of being in childcare while our parents worked and we both firmly believe that we are stronger people for it. 5. There's more than one way to bring a child into your life. The means by which they arrive do not matter, you're still their parents. My new Maternity Leave Planning Guide is here!! She's free and chock full of helpful tips and tools to help you plan a leave that honors your needs. On this week's episode, we have part two of my conversation with sweet mama-to-be, Mary. Listen in for some juicy tidbits on parenting, breaking patterns, setting down limiting beliefs, and chasing dreams.
Here are the key takeaways:
1. Examine the patterns you're perpetuating in different areas of your life, whether it be in parenting or just rules that you live by. Are there any that no longer serve you that you can set down?
2. Our little ones are so magical with a beautiful view on the world. They can bring us so much wisdom if we're just open to receiving it.
3. When it comes to babies, don't take it personally. You're learning each other's patterns and preferences and that takes time. Give yourself grace.
4. I think we know it, but it bears repeating: Remote work is peak working mom goals. Life feels much easier with the flexibility of being at home when you have little ones for all of those unexpected daycare interruptions.
5. Who told you you couldn't do what you wanted to do or be who you wanted to be? If there's something you want to do, get after it. Set down the perfectionism and do it messy.

This week, I'm so excited to share another beautiful Mary with you! Mary is a mama-to-be, expecting her first baby in just a few short weeks. Join our conversation where she shares her pregnancy experience and her plan for childbirth and welcoming a new baby. I also share some of my childbirth experiences and what I would have done differently.
Here are just a few of the juicy morsels from our conversation:
1. Hard just means hard. It doesn't have to mean that something is bad or negative.
2. Embrace and surrender.
3. Beyond fear is so much abundance.
4. Allowing vs. forcing.
5. It's not that deep.
Join us next time for Part Two of the conversation!

On this week's episode of the Having a Mom Moment podcast, Mr. Having a Mom Moment, my husband, Ryan, joins us for a special Father's Day Episode. We talk about the Self, Spouse, Spawn theory from his perspective, what it looks like, and how it works in our family.
Here are this episode's key takeaways:
1. Successful partnerships don't keep score, but instead help each other in balancing their needs.
2. Tend to "self" by building in space and time for decompression from the work day and to transition into the family portion of your day. This is especially important if you work from home as it can easily bleed into home life if you let it. Consider giving remote work its own dedicated space.
3. Communication is key, and that includes communicating your needs. Ask for help if you need it.
4. Try different strategies to make Self, Spouse, Spawn work for your family. It doesn't have to look the same from one family to the next, but the foundation of putting your oxygen mask on first is so important. Prioritizing yourself isn't always easy, but it is always worth it.
5. Remembering to take into account, "Will this matter tomorrow? In a week?" Often times, it's just not that serious.
