    Emily Hightower show notes

Welcome back to another week of Move Breathe Live with Wibbs Yoga and Spirit Wren. This week I am super happy and excited to be chatting to my good friend and constant inspiration Emily Hightower. Emily is a yoga teacher, breath work coach, resilience coach, part of the shift adapt team along side Brian Mackenzie and Rob Wilson bring education around breath work, stress and ways to cope with what life throws at them.

We discuss the ideas around breath work being something that can be bother helpful but also dangerous for the person doing it, how hyperventilation can be a great practice but also a risk for many people without the knowledge of what they are doing and why they are doing it.

This is part of 3 back to back episodes with a group of people really bringing Stress and Breathwork to the forefront of attention in the world of social media. There are many many people doing such great work to bring education to a platform that to often is used to vain, pointless ego driven desires. But that is not Emily…Let me know what you think of the episode and please subscribe, rate and review

  • Hannah Stewart on yoga twats, anatomy in yoga and breath work

Back to the yoga teachers for this weeks chat. This week I had a chat with the wonderful Hannah Stewart from yoga reloaded. I have been following Hannah and her work on instagram for a little while now and she has really been someone that has just totally shone through as a light of honesty and truth and calling out the bullshit that much of the yoga world, especially on social media seems to thrive.

We dive into the world of anatomy in yoga, how bad many training are for this an why perhaps picking a school to o your yoga training at that focuses a little heavier on a strong anatomical back ground can really make a difference to you developing your own practice in a safe and effective manner.

We also, most importantly discuss our love of not taking ourselves to seriously in and around the yoga world and why we use #yogawanker #yogatwat.. this is really an important part of the chat in my eyes hahah, taking some of the ego/bullshit out of the beautiful insta yoga world.

If you would like to follow Hannah head to instangram/hankatbarles or go check out all her incredible content over at yoga reloaded.org for course and education done the right way.

  • Wibbs and wren discuss viewing faults/weakness' through another lens

Taking a tip from the thrice song called everything belongs and the lines

"There's a web and every thread ties you to me

And we are here and now, the future's yet to be
I'm finally seeing that our weakness makes us strong
    And everything belongs"

and how when ever I hear these lyrics I thinks of wren and how she will often look at her depression/anxiety/strong empth tendencys as weaknesses and things which drag her down, yet I see them as strengths that have made her into the kind/loving/incredibly caring nurse/woman and wife she has become.

It becomes a chat about trying to observe life through a multitude of lenses in yourself and in others in your life and how we can finally seeing that our weakness makes us strong And everything belongs

  • Move.Breathe.Live. episode with Joanne Avison - Yoga, anatomy fascia and movement
Well this was a super fun chat with another of my dear friends and anatomy teachers, Joanne Avison. This chat dives deep not the background of traditional anatomy and the world of fascia and how Jo managed to find her way from an over inquisitive yoga practician to studying with the likes of tom Myers of anatomy trains fame, to out grow him and continue to search for answers to how we as humans grow, animate and are inspirited to be who we are.
It was super awesome to hear Jo explaining In pretty simple ways the ideas around biotensegrity and other 21st century anatomy language.
There is also a bunch of chat about Joe new edition of her book Yoga, fascia, anatomy and movement which by the time this episode is released will be available to buy and of which I am in multiple times as a model…..in the nude (well covered in a gossamer type throw thing…go buy it to check me out hahahah)

  • Move.Breathe.Live. with Adam Blake - Fitness, health and life in music
Well coming back to the idea from the first episode of being super lucky to get to chat to heroes of mine from my old punk days, Here I am chatting to the bassist from the New York hardcore punk band H2O and prior to that the KrishnaCore band Shelter
Adam is a London native who moved to the states in the 90’s to follow his dream to just play punk rock music and 25 years later he is still doing that. As well as being a musician he is also a personal trainer/fitness coach and gym owner who spends a lot of his time helping “middle aged people, who wanna look a little less like middle aged people”
This episode was so much fun..yes for the teenage punk kid in me but also to really dive into some ideas around health and fitness..how these things are different and how finding a better level of health is really really within everybody’s reach and ability.
This is the first episode I began asking the guests for 1 simple tool that they can use in there day to day likes to maybe help them move/breathe/live a happier or healthier life.
You can find Adam over on instagram at
    @adamblake007
Or his website www.adamblakefitness.com for lots of actionable information to help get yourself in shape and happy within your body
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I do and I really do recommend reaching out to Adam if you wanna chat any thing fitness health.
