Movie Night Crew

It’s Brooke’s birthday this week!! Well okay, it was last month. REGARDLESS, she picked one of her favorite movies from last year, and possibly in general, the 2021 Oscar winning movie Nomadland. We were so pleasantly surprised by this movie’s peaceful nature in general, and it made us long for the open road even if we would have to crap in a bucket.

So this week, Tina decided to take the crew on her 2022 journey of watching every Nicolas Cage film. We agreed to go ahead and get one his craziest films out of the way by watching a little cult classic, The Wicker Man. The movie that dares to ask ”But WHAT IF WOMEN?!” Grab your coziest bear suit, a lil honey, and board the insanity train with us on this week’s episode of the Movie Night Crew

A movie about busting the Klan? A movie with slick 70s fashion? A movie with a powerful yet not condescending message? A movie shot on film by a renowned director? Sign us up! It’s our first Spike Lee joint this week and you bet we were excited to talk about this powerhouse of a film. Give this work of genius a watch and join in on this week’s episode of the Movie Night Crew

It’s Lelia’s 30th birthday!! This week she brought one of her favorite movies for the crew to watch, the 1987 Norman Jewison film Moonstruck starring Cher and Nicolas Cage. We get into our first Nic Cage experiences, the audacity of Cher’s perfect hair, and the warm happy feelings that movies like this give us. Grab a sugar cube, drop it into some Brut, and come join us this week on the Movie Night Crew!

Jason the Producer turns 31!! And to celebrate, the crew gathered to watch his special pick...the pilot episode of the TV series Twin Peaks. Our second dive into the DavidLynchian Cinematic Universe and you can tell that we had a lot more fun watching this than 80’s Dune. Grab a slice of cherry pie, close those noisy drape runners, and join us for a bit of nineties weirdness

One of our favorite Taika Waititi films (but who could possible pick a favorite?) about Jojo, a sweet and confused little boy in WWII Germany, and his unusual imaginary friend.

It’s January now, and we’re tired as hell after a long looooooooooooooong year. We needed something goofy and funny. Tina steps in with the perfect recommendation. It’s the 1994 Keanu/Bullock classic, SPEED! The movie, not the drug.

The conclusion of Alan Rickmas is upon us, and what better way to end December than revisiting a movie that we’ve already talked about to death!? It’s the 20th Anniversary of the iconic Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, a film that lives in the collective conscious of 99% of the millennial population and introduced most of us to the late, great Alan Rickman. Get yer coziest sweater, grab some candy, and join us as we end 2021 with a bang.

Happy Holidays to all of you listeners out there, and we can’t wait to get started on a brand new year of movie-watching so we can bring you more episodes in 2022!

Part Two of Alan Rickmas, and it‘s time to watch Die Hard!! Kick off your shoes and stay awhile...actually maybe keep the shoes on...

Happy Holidays to all of our listeners! Now that T.Hanksgiving is all set and done, we are so excited to be starting our next pun-themed month, Alan Rickmas!! That‘s right, four of our favorite Alan Rickman films for the entire month of December. Our first pick is the Comedy Central daytime staple, Dogma. We get into the nitty gritty of Kevin Smith as a writer, living in a Catholic household, and how much better Matt Damon is than Ben Affleck. Grab some eggnog and join us on this week‘s episode of the Movie Night Crew!
