MP on the Mic

Friday morning! What a magnificent pair of words! Michael Phillips starts the show by talking about draft picks, player stats, and coaching maneuvers. MP doesn’t think Sam Howell is getting the national love or recognition that he deserves!

Intro - Ryan Odom, VCU basketball coach

10:00 - Lane Casadonte, CBS 6

22:10 - Steve Whyno on the Capitals and NHL

We are just flying through the show! In fact, it’s almost at a close, so we have GOT to bring on our good friend and fellow Audacy alumnus, Adam Epstein aka AWadd! They get into the situation surrounding the Commanders. Spoilers: AWadd is going to have a LOt to say about that locker room note from Ron Rivera!

It’s time to talk about the Commanders. More importantly, it’s time to talk about the “Do Your Job” sign that Ron Rivera felt the need to plaster on the locker room door! MP lets his thoughts come out on the matter and he’s not mincing words!

MP sure knows how to pick his guests on this program and this rings true during this segment with Luke, “the Prince of Picks”! We are always delighted to have this fellow sports freak on the show, and he even brought a friend, Caleb aka Mr. Vegas weighs in on this week’s premium picks!

We’re putting some rushing yards behind us and we are running this morning show play til it gets stale (which it won’t; our playbook is golden), so let’s just rock right on through 11 o’clock starting with our guest, Steve Whyno! He’s an NHL Writer with the Associated Press and he has a lot to say about the upcoming NHL Season!

Michael Phillips is on the microphone, folks and right now it’s time to get into the NFL and what the heck is happening! We talk Broncos vs. Chiefs (MP is pulling for his team, Kansas City), we discuss the possibility of Cousins trading teams, and we discuss the Raiders and Patriots going head-to-head. Is Belichek nervous? Maybe he should be!

It’s an electric show, today! We’ve got Lane Casadonte from CBS 6 joining us as he tends to do on Thursdays - what a guy! MP and Lane discuss how to rebuild a program and get the culture of that sports club back to where it needs to be. Lane also runs us through his Final Score Friday a day early (aren’t we lucky)!

MP rejoins by running us through the world of the MLB! It’s time for postseason chat and observations. We hear from Bryce Harper as well as Dusty Baker on Bryce’s staredown! Michael also gives us a brisk briefing on College Ball.

We charge into the show this Thursday morning with MP on the Mic setting the table and showcasing what’s to come! Michael was lucky enough to secure an interview with VCU Rams Head Coach Ryan Odom; take a listen, here!
