  • S2-E18: #Man Utd in Disarray #Utd v Young Boys Preview #Ireland Rugby Looking For Robust Players!
    In this episode:
I concentrate on manchester United and their poor performance against Crystal Palace at the weekend which saw the team have their worst start to a league campaign since 1990. I discuss the current situation around Jose Mourinho as manager and the root and branch changes needed if we are to improve not only in the short term but more importantly into the future. I also preview the Champions League contest v Young Boys at Old Trafford that I will be watching tonight.
Finally, in this episode I touch on the fact that the Irish Rugby management set up has started preparations in earnest for the Rugby World Cup 2019 with a policy of looking towards the more robust player to bolster squad positions as the last time round it was felt that some injuries to key players in early group games against 'weaker opposition' led to the loss of key skilled players for the latter stages.

  • S2-E17 #Ireland Triple @ World Rugby Awards #McCarthy New Boss #Sports Results #Firefighting At Work
In this episode: I look at the success of Irish Rugby at the World Rugby Awards in Monaco and also talk about the future of Joe Schmidt as Irish Rugby boss. I analyse my Premiership Predictions from the last weekend, I'm improving as a pundit! As well as a detailed look at the Munster and Connacht GAA Football Club Provincial deciders that saw Dr Crokes win an 8th O'Connor Cup and Corofin create history by winning their third in a row Andy Merrigan Cup and 9th in total. I also discuss Mick McCarthy's appointment for a 2 year term as manager of the Republic of Ireland Soccer team and I look at his backroom team and successor in waiting Stephen Kenny. To finish I include a little work related analysis of my job and how it can sometimes involve a lot of initial firefighting before you reach a stage where you have the structures in place that encourage good listening and that this always has the effect of producing the best outcomes when applied for the greater gain rather than individual short term gratification. • #Rugby: Ireland beat All Blacks #GAA: Ulster Football Semi Results - Episode 15
My main topics for this episode are:
The historic win for Ireland at the Aviva against the All Blacks, I also discuss my lack of prowess as a sports pundit over the past weekend and I look at the way forward for the podcast.
The Ulster club football double header at Healy Park in Omagh, where Scotstown took on Coleraine at 1.30 and Gaoth Dobhair played Crossmaglen at 3.30 on Sunday. Rory Beggan again starred for Scotstown with 3 points the final one of which was the match winning score and I also review Gaoith Dobhair's win over Crossmaglen where they not only exposed some defensive frailties in the Armagh side but dominated the game with their mix of youth and experience.
I'm also experimenting with my editing process and how I promote the podcast on other platforms.

  • #Ulster Club Football Semi Finals #Rory McIlroy #Rugby #Food for Players - Episode 14
My main topics for this episode are:
The Ulster club football double header at Healy Park in Omagh, where Scotstown take on Coleraine at 1.30 and Gaoth Dobhair play Crossmaglen at 3.30 on Sunday.
Rory McIlroy's announcement about scheduling only two European Tour events for 2019 and how the Irish Open could be one of the events that is not on his calendar, I also discuss his current situation around the possibility of changing his caddy.
I preview the upcoming meeting of the All Blacks and Ireland at the Aviva in Dublin on Saturday night and the fact that this is a clash between the current top 2 teams in the world rugby rankings.
Finally, I give my views on how prepared meals for Inter-County players is another way in which the gap is continually widening between the club and county player.

  • Ulster GAA: Funding for Sports Programme & Ulster Football Semi-Finals - Episode 13
I this episode I revisit the GPK Daily theme with a look at some of the sports stories that I am interested in. Having got a poor response to This Teaching Life I have decided to go back to what I enjoy best and report on sport particularly GAA and Ulster football.
I have extensive knowledge of this area having coached all the way through to Senior Club level, County Minor level and as a Coach Tutor for the Ulster GAA Council.
So my main topics for this episode are:
The funding or lack of it for the school sport programme, I reference recent statements by Paddy Tally, Down Senior Football Manager, and Michael O'Neill Manager of Northern Ireland's Soccer team and give my own views on this issue, and
I also take a look at the upcoming football semi finals in Ulster where Healy Park Omagh hosts a very attractive double-header.
I briefly touch on the proposed rule changes within gaelic football but that is one for a much wider discourse and deserves an episode to itself.
My Twitter feed is the best place to continue the discussion:
    https://twitter.com/GPK__
You can also still link to educational articles on the blog at:
    http://www.beingthebestucanb.com/
But I'm also going to mix more sport into that as well over the next month to gauge the response.
I hope everyone enjoys the podcast and don't forget to LIKE & SHARE, thanks.
