MTR Network Main Feed

Look, this is the best comic book show on TV and it's not even close. And it really shines when it's going into a break. Not too many shows pack as much into 42 minutes of television like Agents of Shield and this episode, Self Control, has so much.

Kriss & Dpalm discuss Jed Whedon's debut as a director and how some of the shots in this episode were perfectly picked, the shocking twists and turns and then we end with everyone's favorite: Our predictions on who isn't going to make it. We then take listener emails (of which we got a lot) and then talk briefly about some Marvel TV news (Inhumans, Namor?, X-Men).

Gorilla City. They not only did Gorilla City on TV but added in a gladiator style fight in an arena between Barry and Solovar. Sure, this episode has some issue but...Gorilla City. At the very least we have to be happy with that.

Kriss and Dpalm recap the episode and geek out about Gorilla City and we also talk about some of the problems and weaknesses of this episode, of which there are plenty.

Sometimes when interviewing an actual member of the sports media, it can feel like you've known them over 10 years. This time, it feels that way because it IS that way. My old Columbia classmate Lauren Brill is a sports reporter for WEWS (ABC) in Cleveland, Ohio, and took time out of her busy schedule to talk some sports. We cover what it's like to come to Cleveland in the craziest calendar sports year on record, the future of the Browns, and the joys of covering LeBron James. We also discuss her start in the industry, Chris Long skipping the White House, UConn's women breaking 100 straight wins, and Jim Dolan's flip flop on Oakley.

Topics:

• Lauren's journey from CU to Buffalo, to Cleveland, the unexpected promised land.
• The story of those left behind from The Concussion Diaries.
• Saints fans remain no good, low bottom haters, but all I can do is kinda take this L.
• Chris Long styling on idiots.
• The death of "Stick to Sports".
• UConn women's 100 straight wins being underappreciated.
• Dolan flip flopping: SAD!
• Browns eyeing Tyrod Taylor?
• KLove drama continues.
• NBA Saturday Night underwhelms.
• MVPs: Weekly MVPs from Lauren. Randy Moss (aka MAWSE).

Arrow's latest episode, Spectre of the Gun, delves into the real world political arena by focusing on gun control...and it's one of Arrow's best episodes. This really felt like one of the Hard Traveling Heroes issues from Green Lantern/Green Arrow. This episode does a really good job of making Oliver Queen himself matter (and not the Green Arrow) as well as giving Wild Dog a backstory.

This is my fault. Wrestlemania is around the corner, and I realized that there wasn't going to be a lot of space on the main podcast to talk wrestling, so now you're getting a bonus WWE focused podcast for the Road to Wrestlemania. Fortunately, I was able to rope in Rich Fann from PWTorch's East Coast Cast to break down the week that was in pro wrestling.

Topics:

• Rollins looking to be cleared for Mania.
• Congrats to Teddy Long!
• Kurt Angle potentially working matches.
• Elimination Chamber recap.
• Naomi's surprising win.
• Lackluster SDL tag division.
• God bless long term booking.
• Joe: The Destroyer.
• Directionless New Day.
• Bayley getting her first title win.
• Return of Kevin Owens.

With no new episode of The Flash this week, Kriss and Dpalm decided to fill that time with a special episode talking about movie news. We start with good news, discussing Avengers Infinity War starting production, Black Panther/Thor Ragnorok concept art and Marvel Studio's well oiled machine. Then comes the bad stuff. It starts with a simple question: If we were given the opportunity to make a movie in which universe/studio, which would we pick: Fox or WB/DC?  From there we get into some larger rants:

• Kriss finds out the Reavers are in Logan
• Why Logan doesn't look exciting at all
• 17 years of X-Men movies and Fox is still making the same ones
• Who leaks more, Trump's White House or Warner Brothers?
• WB/DC's shitty movie history and why they don't deserve any more chances
• Rumors
  • Ben Affleck looking to leave the role of Batman
  • Mel Gibson being courted for Suicide Squad 2 because...fuck everything

Agents of SHIELD is so good. This latest episode, The Man Behind The Shield, does a great job of cramming so many things into one episode, yet not feeling bloated. We get a flashback to early Coulson & May when they were still early in SHIELD, Coulson channeling M Bison in his confrontation with Anton/The Superior and then a reveal with who is a LMD that is setting up for a horror show next episode. Lots to talk about.

Download/Stream the episode to hear Kriss & Dpalm discuss the whole thing.
