It's the most wonderful time of the year again, and we ring in a Happy Wrestling New Year with our good friends Rich and Sam. Somehow, Cam snuck on too, and in the process of getting rebanned from the show and unrebanned from the show, we talked about the John Oliver segment, Terry trying it again, and all the matches to come for NXT and WWE's biggest weekend of the year.

Guests: Rich Fann - @Rich_Fann Sam Franco - @samjfranco Cam Hawkins - @CeeHawk

Kriss, Ro and Brandon are back to review the remake of Pet Sematary. This is a bit of a contentious review with varying opinions but in the end we can all come to an agreement: This could have been better. There are points in this film that are very disturbing and creepy. The cat is very creepy and Jeté Laurence continues the tradition of creepy child actors nailing roles of creepy kids from a Stephen King novel. But the script seems to leave a lot on the table and it's either something you can overlook or leaves you very disappointed.

Listen has the crew discusses and debates what they thought of this film. Who do you side with? Let us know

Sorry for the delay folks but we're back to review the latest episode of Arrow. Ummm...Emiko is evil as shit. There's really no coming back from what she's been doing as the leader of the 9th Circle (shout out to this season really pulling from the Rebirth Green Lantern run). This episode does a good job of showing the how and why of Emiko while also making us understand why Oliver feels like he can save her (even though we know it's not going to work). Also Archer is going to be a really big problem and gets scarier the more we think about it.

We also talk about our Pull-Lists of the month of March because we didn't get to it on the mailbag.

Kriss and Dpalm record the Mailbag at the end of every month. If you want to send in your own questions and thoughts, email us: [email protected]

Kriss, Ro and Brandon review the latest DC film, Shazam. To be honest, we didn't have much hope or expectations for this film. But this film is great. The trailers don't do the film justice. The film is finally the DC film we've been waiting for. It does the characters justice (even better than their comic book New 52 versions), has 3 complete acts and leaves you wanting more. If this is what DC can do going forward, then we're all on board.

Brandon, Ro and Kriss review Tim Burton's live-action Dumbo film from Disney. This film had potential but is squandered by poor script decisions and direction. The biggest issue is making a film about a flying magical baby elephant about the humans (and then not fully developing them). Burton's choices on what to focus on and then direction given to some of the actions really hampers this film. When the film focuses on Dumbo, it works and captures the magic of the original animated film. Unfortunately, that's just not enough to save this film.

Yeah...we went there.  The TV DC universe did the ironic idea of two opposing characters having a shared name in common SO much better than the movie studio with the millions of dollars in their budget.

This week in a bottle episode, we see how Lex has been a part of the entire Supergirl Universe since their days on CBS.  We see the trial that led to Lex's incarceration, along with his introduction to Otis and Ms. Tessmacher, and the absolute extent of his rich man privilege with his ability to come and go from the prison at will.  We also see what has been going on with Red Kara, the result of the Harrenal split from the end of last season.  Seeing Melissa Benoist embody two different individuals so uniquely is a testament to her acting abilities and reinvigorates my fury at their attempt to really dumb down the show in season 1.  We are on hiatus until the end of April, but this episode was a great send off.

We promised and we delivered! The Doctor and Shanna along with MTR contributor Ro are here to (finally) review season one of The Passage based on the Justin Cronin novel of the same name.

Season one follows Amy, a young orphaned girl, and Agent Brad Wolgast, who was hired to funnel death row inmates into a top security government project that is essentially creating vampires in order to develop a miracle curative. Once Agent Wolgast is asked to bring Amy in as a test subject, he breaks ranks to save her. The first season only covers about a third of Cronin's novel and season two of the show is predicted to flash forward about 90 years into the future after humans have bombed the United States into a nuclear wasteland in order to deal with the viral threat.

This fast-paced, well-crafted season was a thrill ride from beginning to end and we're excited to breakdown the details in this overview.

Black Lightning: Book of the Apocalypse: Alpha and Omega

We're back (well some of us) for the final episodes of Black Lightning and boy is it a doozy. In the final three episodes, they resurrect just as many characters including Lala, who is apparently immortal because Lazarus (played by the inimitable Michael Wright) brought him back from the dead twice. Also back from the dead are Reverend Holt, who doesn't know what a podcast is because he's using it to call people to the church during a riot and Khalil, who Agent Odell has been keeping in a pod along with Wendy and Issa.

If all that isn't crazy enough for you, the teleporting meta we met about 5 episodes ago, returns looking for Dr. Jace. Apparently, he's a Markovian mercenary sent to retrieve her because the Markovians have an army of metas in pods they want to launch. And Tobias, who has been building his own metahuman army all season, abandons that plan in a fit of rage so he can terrorize Black Lightning. His plan immediately backfires when the disoriented pod kids just wander off into the streets of Freeland without attacking. So if you're thinking, did ANY of plot we were building this season matter? The answer is no. We've had sixteen episodes just to end up with Jennifer in a suit. Tobias turned out to be a straw man and now the Markovians are the big bad for season 3 even though the show has done little to nothing to introduce them as a credible threat.

Black Lightning may not be a lost cause but if we're going to enjoy this show, we're going to have to turn our brain off. We'll see if things change next fall but for right now, it's a wrap for the Pierces.

Sorry for the delay folks but we're finally back to wrap up *checks notes* Captain Marvel Part 3? Or is this Shazam? Yeah we waste no time in this episode addressing the elephant in the room: What the heck do we call this character? Kriss & Dpalm have varying opinions but one thing that is agreed upon is that this is all DC's fault. They destroyed Fawcett because the "Superman Clone" was more popular than Superman, then tried to resurrect the character 20 years later after the name had already been registered by Marvel. So we're covering the ups and downs of the "Original Captain Marvel". We cover the Whiz Comics years, the DC relaunch, Roy Thomas' interesting yet unfinished attempt at the character, Jerry Ordway's Power of Shazam and the struggle of DC trying to figure out what to do with the character that once outsold Superman

Also...one of you asked for this so Dpalm also does a quick explanation of Marvelman. Just know it involves Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman and Grant Morrison. Buckle in folks. You're in for a ride.
