Many Christians wander through their spiritual life aimlessly, without a purpose or a goal. In this cardinal lesson, our Lord uses his servant to show that it is impossible for a church practicing iniquity to produce an overcome. This is an extremely serious lesson, appropriate for the day in which we live.

Brother John & Brother Sam, the two senior elders in the Mississauga Assembly, encourage the saints with godly exhortations. Tapping into recent lessons, they hearten us with the application of God's in our daily lives. The truth must not be an academic exercise but must motivate our hearts to be effective.

The Lord uses Brother Singh to give us insight into two poorly understood subjects in the church: the Spirit and our communication with God.

Luke wrote, "And it came to pass, that, as {Jesus} was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." (Luke 11:1) This request is remarkable...

There is a misconception widely preached in religion today that the Bride of Christ is the whole church. In this illuminating message, Brother Singh dispels that myth with scriptural evidence to prove that Bride of Christ is comprised of a select group of saints who have overcome their sinful nature, the world, and the devil. Moreover, we are called to exactly the same commitment to God.

Because of the enormity of the revelations Paul possessed, a thorn was given him in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass him, to keep him from becoming exalted or conceited. Three times he pleaded with the Lord to be delivered. But the Lord said, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, Paul determined that he would boast all the more gladly of his weaknesses so that the power of Christ might rest upon him. For the sake of Christ, then, he was content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when Paul was weak, then he was strong! (Read 2 Corinthians, Chapter 12).

The Book of Revelation is a book of symbolic language. We ought not to literalize symbols.  Unless the Lord opens the eyes and ears of our understanding, symbolic language leaves us confused and prone to misinterpretation. For that reason, we need a God-anointed ministry to explain the meaning to us. "Because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge" (Ecclesiastes 12:9). The wisdom required to teach God’s knowledge does not come from human intelligence, seminary studies, or reading books. It comes as gifts given unto men (given unto the church), in the form of the five-fold ministry. (Ephesians 4:8). 

After eighteen months of the pandemic restrictions, every elect child of God should have a deeper relationship with our Lord. We have endured unparalleled closures of every aspect of society. Never before in history have Government, Commerce, and Religion been simultaneously and universally affected. Churches were closed right along with taverns and sports arenas. Brother Singh encourages saints, "in the day of adversity consider" (Ecclesiastes 7:14).

No matter how remarkable the message delivered by a prophet, an apostle, or a called man of God may be, that message must save the preacher himself as well as the people. Brother Singh asserts that the word of God cuts both ways. A two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12) incises both the preacher's impurities and those of the congregation. The purpose of preaching is to change us, but many of us are reluctant to change. We prefer to serve God at our convenience.

Every child of God has three fathers.

In this significant lesson, God allows us to see fatherhood in a whole new light, as delivered through His servant Brother Singh.  The three fathers are—GOD the Father, who elected us according to His foreknowledge (1 Peter 1:2). The second is our earthly father, who may not be ideal in our eyes, but God selected him as our dad for a reason, and we are commanded to honor him. (Exodus 20:12) "Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee." The third is our spiritual Father. "For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers[1]: for in Christ Jesus, I have begotten you through the gospel." (1 Corinthians 4:15)

This lesson is strong meat delivered in due season. For a handful of saints, under Brother Desmond Singh, Wednesday night lessons are the most penetrating for the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, and to expose the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 

Before the conclusion of the life of an elect child of God, a deep final cleansing occurs to remove any lingering roots of bitterness (Hebrews 12:15). Roots of bitterness are stubborn sins and human traits that are ungodly. They are often buried deep in our unconscious psyche but exercise a degree of control over our nature.
