We live in a chaotic world. The earth reels to and fro like a drunkard. (Isaiah 24:20) The prophecies of Jesus found in Matthew 24 are now our daily reality.  Yet Jesus calls us to remain calm, "See that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matthew 24:6-8)

We must face the reality of life.  In this practical gospel message, Brother Desmond Singh challenges us to take control of our circumstances. Jesus said, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32) One of the first truths we need to understand is the truth about ourselves! Nobody exists in ideal circumstances, so whatever our reality is, we must accept and manage it. Stability is measured by our ability to plan our future under God's authority, despite our circumstances. 

Too often, we take our local pastors for granted. We do not view them with respect due to their office. The faithfulness of local pastors, who often labor in obscurity and deprivation, will stand as a testimony against unfaithful saints on the day of judgment for their indifference. Faithfulness in scripture denotes "faith to endure to the end" (Matthew 10:22). The qualities of faithfulness include consistency, allegiance, and submission to lawful authority. Thus, the Apostle Paul entreated Timothy, "the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall also be able to teach others, also" (2 Timothy 2:2). 

Brother Singh made a profound statement, reflecting the mind of Christ. "If an individual is experiencing judgment in their life, that is not the time for me to give them my opinion. It is the time for me to show compassion and mercy." Judgment is always a matter between God and the individual. 

As Jesus neared the conclusion of his ministry, he issued woes upon the religious elite, saying: "Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify, and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city" (Matthew 23:34). True men of God were always rejected and persecuted for the gospel. When we see popular preachers today, it causes us to wonder what kind of gospel they preach.

While the earth reels to and fro like a drunkard under judgment, we children of God ought to be examining ourselves in light of God's word. The lessons we have received are designed to save us, but we must heed and implement them. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin." Therefore, brother John and Brother Sam urge us to seek out information and hope from God's ministry, not CNN or YouTube.

Brother Desmond R Singh relies on the leading of the Holy Spirit each time he stands to preach or teach. The instruction of God's people is so vital that He cannot risk it to human thinking, presumptions, or philosophy. Therefore, Jesus prayed to the Father, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." (John 17:17)

Scripture is essential to our life. "For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope" (Romans 15:4). Yet, it is impossible to comprehend God's truth with human intellect, (although many people try). So, at the appropriate time when God calls His elect to commence their sanctification process, He "quickens" or ignites spiritual life in us.
