  • 52. The Self-Love Challenge Part 2

This week, we are lucky enough to talk again with Brandy Edwards, who is a Texas attorney turned empowerment speaker and coach. She has a huge emphasis on self-love. She created the self-love challenge to motivate, empower, and challenge women. Honestly, we had so much fun connecting and realize we have so much in common. We just couldn't cut this episode short, so we had to make it into two pieces. I hope that you will enjoy part two of Brandy's episode, and if you haven't checked out her first episode, circle back and be sure to listen to episode #49 too.

  • 51. Leave Limiting Beliefs Behind

Welcome to this season of the My Gratitude Attitude Podcast. We are entering season 3 and this comes just on the cusp of the podcast's one year anniversary. I can't even begin to explain to you how many life changing things that have take place for me since starting on this journey.

I am so grateful and feel very privileged to have had the honour of meeting and interviewing some of the most incredible people, in my opinion, who are changing this world through their commitments to the earth, to humanity and by being grateful along the way. If you haven't heard season 1 or 2 I strongly encourage you to circle back and check out some of the many amazing episodes that will truly serve up so much motivation, inspiration and of course gratitude.

As we enter into this new chapter in 2020 I want to pause and take a few moments to challenge you about some limiting beliefs that I hope you will leave behind as we move forward.

Consider this - what do you tell yourself about yourself that is keeping you small. What are you telling yourself that is keeping you from potentially missing out on living the life of your dreams?

I challenge you to take some time to really think this through, maybe journal about it and decide what limiting beliefs you're going to leave behind in the last decade. And instead, what new beliefs about yourself are you going to solidify so that you can be the best possible version of yourself in 2020?

  • 50. Spend Time on Joy, Get a Yellow Basket!

You have more time than you think!

Have you ever said "I'd love to do that but I just don't have time right now?"  I know I have.  But I have a question for you - do you really not have time to do the things that you love or that bring you joy?

In this week's episode, the point is to strive to create more time for the things you want to do and that bring you joy. As I've said before on this podcast, we only have one life that we know of - so why not spend as much time as we possibly can doing the things that bring us joy?

  • 48. How to Be a Feminist with Thordis ElvaÂ

Think that feminism is something that only activists can practice? Think that being a feminist means being anti men? Think again!

Thordis Elva, renowned TED speaker, author and Activist gives us insight on how to add feminist practices to our daily lives. One particularly great take away was how to incorporate this notion with our kids. If you follow Thordis on Instagram you will get a glimpse into the way that she raises her three boys and especially her eldest son Frey who has more than once stood up to bullies at school because of inequality towards girls in his class.

What I love about Thordis is her passion and brilliance for these huge issues and also her ability to share her vulnerabilities in real life and being a mom to five kids and also her sense of humour. If you haven't already listened to her incredible interview all about the unbelievable story of her twin baby boys, bed rest and their premature birth then head back to episode 32 and hear her amazing story about how social media helped carry her through this really difficult time in her life.

Today is a big topic but so important to talk about.

  • 47. Lessons From Retired School Teachers

This week I have the pleasure of speaking with two of my former colleagues and now retired teachers Jill Calvert Goetz and Wendy Calvert Morris. These two ladies are veteran teachers who are not only best friends but sisters. I wanted to have them on the show because they have been so influential in my own teaching career and with this rapidly changing school system and the teaching job itself I have found it so valuable to have mentorship and advice from colleagues who have more or less seen it all. My favourite take away from this episode is the advice that both Wendy and Jill give to newer teachers.

If you enjoyed this episode with Wendy and Jill head over the comments section and leave a review and if you're a teacher let us know the advice that you would give to a new teacher; and tune in next time for more game changing tips on the My Gratitude Attitude Podcast!
