Ya'at'eeh my relatives. It's Tuesday, May 9 and I invite you to join me for My Second Cup of Coffee. Today I discuss the immaturity of our nation as evident in the ongoing debt ceiling debate. And I share my initial response to the latest mass shooting in Dallas. I also give an update one week into my recovery from hip replacement surgery.

Ya'at'eeh my relatives. Two weeks ago, on March 30, the Vatican issued a joint statement repudiating the Doctrine of Discovery. Today, over My Second Cup of Coffee, and using Unsettling Truths (the book I co-authored), I will define what the Doctrine of Discovery is and demonstrate how the Vatican's repudiation is an attempt to re-write the history of its dehumanizing doctrine.

Ya'at'eeh my relatives. Today is #GoodFriday 2023 and over My Second Cup of Coffee I will briefly discuss the white supremist actions of the Tennessee Legislature as well as the Vatican's hypocrisy in repudiating of the Doctrine of Discovery. I will end with some reflections on the reality of Good Friday, #HolySaturday and #EasterSunday. and why lament is such an important discipline for faith. I invite you to join me.

She is also the author of "Sisters in Spirit: Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Influence on Early American Feminists" (Native Voices, 2001).

I invite you to join us for what I am sure will be a fascinating conversation.

Ya'at'eeh my relatives. On Thursday, March 30, 2023 the Vatican issued a "Joint Statement on the 'Doctrine of Discovery' of the Dicasteries for Culture and Education and for Promoting Integral Human Development". The 9 point statement does repudiate the Doctrine of Discovery but it also takes extraordinary steps to affirm its history and limit the liability of the Catholic Church. Over My Second Cup of Coffee I will read and discuss each point of the Joint Statement. I invite you to join me.

Ya'at'eeh my relatives. After yet another horrific mass school shooting, this time at The Covenant School in Nashville TN, our nation is once again engaged in our traditional partisan screaming match which (as usual) results in our bipartisan paralysis and resignation. I invite you to join me for My Second Cup of Coffee and a discussion regarding Gun Violence, the 2nd Amendment and what I call the Trauma of White America.
