My Secrets to Stamina

I believe my podcast must showcase different perspectives on stamina - from different industries, different walks of life and in different stages in their career.

On this episode, I welcome a young, true rising sales leader in the hospitality industry – her determination, focus and grit is why I wanted to have her on my podcast.  She is the ADOSM at the Hyatt Regency in Dulles, a part of HEI Hotels & Resorts.  

My husband, Lefty has had the opportunity to work with her on the HSMAI National Rising Sales Leader Council for the past two years.  JJ isn’t your typical younger generation sales leader, she’s different – she’s committed to being the absolute best.  She also sits on the board of the HSMAI DC Chapter as well as on the board of the Customer Experience Program at the University of Richmond.

Please join me for my first episode of 2022 as I sit down with our friend NHL Star, Teemu Selanne.

If you aren’t familiar with him – here’s a little background.  Teemu is one of the best hockey players of all time, known as the ‘Finnish Flash’ because of his speed on the ice.  He is  a former NHL player for the Winnipeg Jets, Anaheim Ducks, San Jose Sharks & the Colorado Avalanche.  He won the Stanley Cup in 2007 & is truly one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet.  He is still loved by his fans, won Olympic medals for his home country of Finland and was inducted in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2017.  8 years ago, he and his wife, Sirpa opened up their first restaurant in Laguna Beach, CA called Selanne Steak Tavern.  He is a dad of 4, our neighbor of over 20 years and lifelong friend! 

We talk about how it all started, what it takes to succeed in life & his secret to stamina, going for your dreams and what’s next for him.

Join me this week as I sit down with my very good friend, Mr. Ed Libby.

For those of you who don't know Ed, he is one of the most innovative and creative artists and a true pioneer in the luxury events industry producing some of the most spectacular events for A-List celebrities and more.  One thing to note about Ed, he is one of the most genuine people you will ever have the chance to know.

In recent years, Ed has been placed in the role of Head of Design for the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens in Las Vegas and if you have had the opportunity to see this, it is magical.  He brings the feels and senses alive with his art and spends hours and hours drawing the renderings to bring this to life and provide a learning experience as well.  He took this opportunity noting, the parties and events I create last 5 hours and about 300 people experience them - with this, 40,000 people a day can experience my design.

Ed loves a good caviar with chips, secret hideaway restaurants where you get the finest cuisine, bringing all of his friends together from his gardeners to Kelsey Grammer.  He talks to us about relationship building and how he maintains his energy and stamina with his hectic lifestyle.  Be prepared to be inspired, laugh with his humor and walk away smiling.

Welcome my daughter: Jessica Baker.

This episode is my favorite yet (surprise, surprise!)  Not only do we share many memories, laughs and insight into 'our' world but we talk about leading the younger generation, Jessica's role as VP of Business Development for MCA and the life she has led thus far.
