Mysterious Universe

Welcome back! This week we continue from last week's extension with Colin Wilson's The Occult, and his interesting perspective on what these heightened states are, how they are achieved and maintained, as well as some notable characters associated with the topic. We also question why this area of research is so rife with charlatans and fakes? As always, make of this what you will, but Wilson really makes a great case for all of it.

Welcome to your Plus+ Extension, and thank you for joining us on Plus+! This is a weird, wild realm we have here, riddled with strange happenings in the sky. High strangeness is intimately interwoven with everyday-ness. Today, we examine a smattering of seemingly unconnected events, accounts, and perspectives of some of the most bizarre encounters by some day-to-day dwelling, normal folks just living out their lives and then, suddenly…Whammmy, they are visited by the freaky, and it woos them into further investigation.

On this episode we are continuing our mind-blowing adventure with Vera Stanley Alder’s “From the Mundane to the Magnificent”. Today, friends, we discover the inner workings of nature itself with a gander at the logistics of Fairyland before a view of human beings in various mental and emotional states as we gain greater insight into the “insane”.

For our Plus+ extension we begin Colin Wilson’s The Occult, exploring his argument that the real mystery isn’t ghosts or magic, it’s human consciousness itself. From primitive shamans to the bombastic Crowley types, we go over the idea that people have always brushed up against deeper layers of awareness, but just never quite learned how to control them. At its base, Wilson tries to argue that this is less about the supernatural and more about whether we’re living at a fraction of our actual potential.

This week we’re continuing down the Sheldrake path with The Physics of Angels by Matthew Fox and Rupert Sheldrake, where a theologian and a scientist try to make sense of angels in a modern context. Pulling from figures like Aquinas and Hildegard, we explore whether these “beings” might actually point to forms of intelligence or organization we still don’t fully understand. Whether you buy it or not, it’s a solid look at how our view of reality might be a lot more limited than we think.

Welcome to this banger Plus+ Extension! The long awaited uber saga that is From the Mundane to the Magnificent is at hand! This remarkably fun story is very much an epic tale loaded with insights that will take your mind off of the nonsense found littered about this so called “reality”. Part one offers us instructions for leaving the restrictive body for astral exploration, a new look at the Earth and solar system only to bring it all home by shrinking to the size of an atom, and stopping to have a chin wag with a cell offering their interpretation of life from their perspective. Thank you for being on Plus+ with us! Sit back and enjoy a fresh perspective that could change everything about your Youniverse and unlock hidden potential within yourcelf.

Welcome to Mysterious Universe Season 35 Episode 16! What do you know of how the calendar was created? Hundreds of specialized or regional calendars have existed throughout history, major calendar systems are often grouped into solar, lunar, and lunisolar types, with six principal systems commonly recognized today. Tom Sherman has sorted out the wishy-washy Gregorian and offers the realm something better, A New Calendar. Perhaps it’s time we examine the time we keep?

In our Plus+ extension, we dive back into some wild NDE stories! From a 1-year-old memory of being drowned in a bathtub, to an ex-military man experiencing his version of heaven, all the way to capping it off with a terrifying story of a young man who had direct contact with what he describes as hell! These stories are always interesting and really challenge (or maybe give hope to) the endless debate over what happens when we exit this mortal coil.

Was the Moon just a byproduct of planetary chaos, or does the Earth–Moon system show signs of deeper structure? In this episode, we dig into Who Built the Moon? by Christopher Knight and Alan Butler, exploring the strange mix of astronomy, ancient measurement systems, and numerical relationships that led the authors to question whether our nearest celestial neighbor might be more unusual than we’ve been taught.

Welcome to your Plus+ extension as we wrap up this “Salts of Salvation Saga Series” with a look at each of the salts in association with you and your loved one's zodiac sign, and some remedies for the deficiencies found in those signs as given at birth. There is a bit of a "gross wording warning" for the squeamish as some of this may be perceived as blasphemous and graphic due to the honest nature of the information.

Welcome to Mysterious Universe Season 35 episode 14! Did you know that you can trace every sickness, disease, and ailment to a mineral deficiency? There are 12 primary cell salts developed in the 1870s by German physician Dr. Wilhelm Heinrich Schüssler. Today we have chosen to take an entertainment only (not medical advice) look at what these salts are and what can they do for those who choose to heed the wisdom of the ancients.

In Part 2 of our electricity deep dive, we get into the strange and controversial world of The Electric Universe by Wal Thornhill — a theory that suggests electricity may play a much bigger role in shaping the cosmos than modern science typically acknowledges. From plasma filaments that resemble spiral galaxies, to the idea that planetary surfaces might bear the scars of massive electrical events, this Plus+ extension explores a fringe but fascinating attempt to connect physics, astronomy, and ancient myth into one big, weird picture. Not presented as fact, but as an open-ended exploration of how much we really understand about the forces shaping our universe — and how much might still be missing.

Welcome back to MU! In this episode, we explore the idea that the timeline of history may not be as settled as we’ve been led to believe. From the mysterious concept of Tartaria to strange patterns in 19th century architecture, rapid technological leaps, world fairs, orphan trains, and the work of Nikola Tesla, we examine a collection of theories from Guy Anderson's Tesla & the Cabbage Patch Kids suggesting that pieces of the past may have been forgotten, reinterpreted, or quietly absorbed into the modern world.

Welcome to your Plus+ Extension where we continue our Michig-investigation of the freaky things found on the pleasant peninsula as we dive deeper into the mysteries of this trippy ass region, covering more ground detailing some of the unsettling encounters with odd land based creatures. Then we explore the aquatic woo-woo of the Great Lakes as we round off our tour of the high strangeness that seems to never end.

Welcome to Mysterious Universe Season 35 episode number 12! Mysterious creatures and rumors of mysterious creatures have been passed down from times long lost, but where do they come from? What may be considered to be fantastically incredible creatures to us could simply be “the way” for other inhabitants of the realm that have experienced a variety of critters. Perhaps like seeing and disobliging a dragon the way one would have seen a squirrel.

In our Plus+ extension, we cover a classic metaphysical book called The Ra Material by Don Elkins. This is a wild ride of abstract philosophical meanderings, paired with short stories and anecdotes, but rather than dramatic alien encounters, it's more like a technical philosophy of reality, laying out a structured model of consciousness, reincarnation, ethical polarity, and humanity’s place in a larger developmental process. Be sure to sign up for Plus+ if you haven't already and don't miss this extension that ties a lot of these ideas together rather neatly.

This week we dive into another work by Marcus Lowth, The Electric People. He documents the stories of "SLIders", or Street Light Interference experiencers. From simple accounts of lights flickering when passed by, to more profound electrical abnormalities, he ties them all in to possible UFO/UAP connections, and the broader paranormal field as a whole. Are these just psychosomatic hallucinations, real EMF interference by humans, or perhaps the other way around?

Thank you for joining us for your Plus+ Extension where we discuss some truly bizarre invisible creature sightings, which we are fully aware sounds silly in and of itself. Rather, humanoid outlines of creatures seemingly there but not entirely visible. Found in the great work of Dirk Gillabel in his "Translucent Humanoid Beings". What are people kind of seeing out there?

Welcome to Mysterious Universe Season 35 Episode number 10! We are here to talk about some of the most jarring funeral ritual customs from around this freaky world. Featuring but not limited to mummy tupperware, the tribe that dresses up their dead to join them for dinner, hella devoted wives who light themselves ablaze to mourn the loss of their dead hubby-hubs, some super fun curses of course, and the possible burial plot of super-savior to some and homeboy to all, Jesus Christ.

For our Plus+ extension, we go into the fantastic book The Dead Have Never Died by Edward C. Randall, who relates experiences of talking directly to dead people, but not in the ordinary sense. He goes with a more blunt interrogatory approach, asking them what it's LIKE to die, what the next phase looks like, what their experiences in the afterlife feel like, and closes out with a bit of philosophical wanderings on what this might mean for every human life, as well as non-human consciousness.
