Knights of the Old Republic still ranks among the best Star Wars stories since the original trilogy because you live in the galaxy through moral choice, companions, and relationships that change the fate of worlds. In this conversation the Fellowship presses past light/dark meter-gaming to Jolee Bindo: labeled a gray Jedi in the stats, he chooses kindness and the good while rejecting a corrupted Jedi institution. That is not 50/50 neutrality. As Augustine puts it, you are what you love; what defines you is what you face and move toward.
