  • ARK Predicts Trillions in Profits

Cathie Wood of ARK Invest is predicting trillions of dollars in profits for these five technology niches: Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Multiomics, Energy Storage, and Robotics. Today we'll analyze these technologies as well as comment on the stocks Cathie has picked to represent these technologies.
We need to preface this information with the fact that ARK Invest primarily offers actively managed funds, and only 5% of active managers can actually outperform a benchmark. Cathie has a strong track record of picking winners, but some will be quick to point out her funds' underperformance as of late. We're here to put the Cathie bashing to rest and take an objective view towards these disruptive technologies. After all, if someone has $100 million per year to spend on research, we ought to listen to them.

  • Is This AI Drug Discovery Stock a Bargain?

AbCellera stock was a pandemic darling, with their first day of trading seeing a valuation of nearly $13 billion. The AI drug discovery stock - which we happen to like - has now tumbled over 90%, leaving investors wondering whether it's time to buy.
We see a lot of appeal in a platform that can reduce the time it takes to bring drugs to market, especially one that was tested and proven in the times of the 'Rona. But why do they now only have six noteworthy molecules in the clinic? And why are four of them from a private company called NovaRock? There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding ABCL stock these days, and we need to see some more success before we decide to go long.

  • Should You Invest in RDDT?

Reddit stock began trading last Thursday under the ticker RDDT. Some are calling $RDDT an AI stock since the company plans to begin licensing its data for the use of large language model training. Their popular "upvote" mechanic acts as a community notes function to help validate data.
This is certainly interesting, and while we don't find Reddit to be terribly overvalued based on our simple valuation ratio, we have some concerns around how the platform plans to monetize its users. With 50% of site traffic coming from outside the U.S., but only translating to 18% of revenues, there may be some opportunity for international growth, but for now we just don't see Reddit stock being "disruptive".

  • Why We Never Use Stop Losses

Stop losses sound ideal. Buy a stock and limit your downside to whatever amount you're comfortable with - great! Not so much. Stop loss orders should really be called "realize loss" orders as they lock in your losses leaving you to guess when and how to get back in.
And if you don't want to get back in, then why did you even buy the stock to begin with? Stop loss orders simply have no place in the portfolio of a long-term investor, someone who wants to build wealth over the next few decades and isn't trying to speculate on short-term price action.

  • Why Tesla is a Buy at $127 a Share

Buying TSLA stock? You'll want to watch this first. We construct an actual price target for Tesla - not just the usual "going to 10x, get in now!" type of rubbish that you see on Twitter. We look at Tesla's historical valuation compared to its current market cap with today's revenues and shares outstanding to determine where we'd be buyers of TSLA shares.
We also talk about some of the risks surrounding Tesla stock, like the great almighty Elon Musk himself. It's a double-edged sword as he's undoubtedly the greatest entrepreneur of all time, but he is still human and anything can happen. So, before you go and invest in Tesla stock, watch this video and give us your thoughts on our price target.

  • The Opportunity of a Lifetime

Generative AI is all anyone can talk about these days, so we'd expect it to be a massive investment opportunity. Our video looks at who stands to benefit most from generative artificial intelligence, and what some of the use cases might look like. Some of the main beneficiaries of the technology include banking support, high tech coding, and R&D in the life science industry.
Interestingly, most of the opportunity is already being realized today through "legacy AI" offerings. Is the potential of generative AI being over-exaggerated? Or is it the opportunity of a lifetime? Watch the video and find out.

  • Why we held this stock to bankruptcy

Invitae went bankrupt, and we lost everything. Well, not *everything*. But, we learned some valuable lessons we'll apply going forward. Today's video touches on our tech stock investing methodology, why we purchased NVTA stock in the first place, how we limited our losses, and what we'll do going forward to avoid another situation like this one.
Why are we talking about our biggest loser? Well, honesty and integrity are important to us here at Nanalyze. We can't bring up our massive NVIDIA gains without also recognizing some bumps in the road. We're also constantly learning, and we're going to use this unfortunate circumstance as a learning experience.

  • MicroStrategy's CEO is Disconnected from Reality

Blockchain is one of the many disruptive technologies we cover. It's also the only one with an annual "Crime Report". As of March 2024, the biggest application of blockchain technology, Bitcoin, was hitting new highs. With the rise of bitcoin price comes inevitable hype for "blockchain stocks".
MicroStrategy MSTR is one such stock. Though the company's actual business is an enterprise analytics software platform that hasn't managed to grow, MicroStrategy is considered a blockchain stock due to their $15 billion BTC position. According to MicroStrategy CEO, Michael Saylor, buying bitcoin is the best use of capital, and whoever has the most bitcoin "wins". So, is $MSTR stock a winner? We don't think so.

  • An AI Drug Discovery Stock We Like

Recursion stock has seen quite a bit of hype after NVIDIA announced an ownership stake in the AI drug discovery firm last summer. We happen to like RXRX stock, so we decided to take a look under the hood and see if the company is living up to the hype.
What we uncovered is a very capital-intensive business model that has so far been funded by injections from pharma partners like Roche, or by dilution of shareholders in the form of stock offerings. With their current cash balance and burn rate, Recursion is looking at a runway of just over one year before something needs to change. Our plan for RXRX stock involves waiting for a drug discovered using Recursion's platform to clear clinical trials, then waiting a bit more for the dust to settle. Patience is key for long-term, risk-averse investors.

  • This Time It's Different

AI stocks are all anyone can talk about. The very definition of the term "AI stock" has shifted so much that we're apparently calling Meta and Cloudflare "AI stocks" now. Our mission today is to look at the artificial intelligence hype and determine whether we're in the midst of another dot-com-type bubble, or whether it's actually different this time.
To do that, we need to separate the financials from the hype. Remember, we invest in companies, not stocks. Companies like Soundhound.ai $SOUN, Big Bear AI $BBAI, and Airship AI $AISP are all seeing massive stock rallies. The common denominator? "AI" in the name. What does that remind you of? Then there are stocks like $NVDA and $PLTR that have legitimate exposure to artificial intelligence and - at least in the case of the former - are seeing strong revenue growth to accompany the surge in share price (Palantir, not so much). We talk about how AI hype is taking over investors and possibly getting frothy based on the path nearly all technologies take. Gartner's hype cycle has some truth to it.
