2020 NHL first round draft pick Yaroslav Askarov made his NHL debut last night for the Nashville Predators after backup Kevin Lankinen was out with illness. The 20 year old Russian goaltender recorded 31 saves against Cole Caufield and the Montreal Canadiens in a 4-3 loss that showcased Askarov's bold and confident style of play.

There has been much buzz in Nashville over Askarov since the Predators drafted him, and last night the young goalie showed why the Preds were so excited to take him as the 11th overall pick in the NHL Draft in 2020. After shaking off some early nerves, Askarov played well in net for the Preds but didn't receive the defensive support needed to get him his first NHL win. On today's Locked On Predators, we share our "one word" to describe Askarov's NHL debut and take a look at what went wrong for the Preds in a game they could have gotten them two valuable points. Cole Caufield took advantage on two power play chances that helped the Habs to their 4-3 win.
