National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was post-interviewed by Zehra Mamdani for an article she wrote as a student for the Columbia News Service, on February 26, 2008 - Part 1. Earlier, in January, 2008, the writer had a media request for that article she wanted to write. The subsequent interviews seemed to go positively. Her article, "Polygamists Hit the Web in Search of 'Sister Wives'" was posted on February 19, 2008, and it was picked up by many other news sources. Blind-siding the National Polygamy Rights Movement for Unrelated Consenting Adults as well as Mark Henkel himself, the writer's article contained many negativities that needed to be corrected. This episode is the first part of the discussion in which Mark Henkel sought to help the writer make needed corrections. Mark Henkel explained how the media routinely has lied about UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, and how that was why polygamists (and he) had to routinely be on the defensive against such untruths and misrepresentations. In this Part 1 of the longer post-interview, it had become clear that the writer's editor had purposely guided the writer to inject negativities in order to supposedly "create balance." Mark Henkel noted how that would compare to how history would condemn a concept of some journalist in the 1960s interviewing Martin Luther King Jr. about good and positive inter-racial marriage and then adding parts to their article about anecdotally some African American criminal men abusing Caucasian women, and then calling it supposedly "adding balance." This episode in the podcast provides Part 1 of that lengthy telephone post-interview.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Melinda Morrison, for the Oprah Winfrey Show, on March 21, 2008. This is Part 2 of 2 parts. The producer was making a "circus act request." Over the prior years, the Oprah Winfrey Show had aired a number of episodes about "the dark side of polygamy." Each time, Mark Henkel had routinely reached out professionally to the show to clarify that those spots were damaging to UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. The producer was insistent that their show was so great, even pretending the extreme exaggeration that they supposedly got "hundreds of thousands of letters" from fans thanking them. No matter how sincerely Mark Henkel tried to help the producer understand, the producer refused to hear it; she began using passive aggressive tactics to suggest false accusations about Mark Henkel. Mark Henkel kindly pled to be heard, "We are saying, and you can choose to deny it if you want, but we are saying that your particular show has done damage to us. But we would like to see an opportunity for a bridge to be built there. My trying to express that to you, that you have done damage to our lives - as a show, maybe not you, personally. As a show, you have done damage to the very safety of our lives. And we are trying to be able to rectify that. That is what we need to be able to help you understand; and, then we can go forward and families will be more willing to trust you. That's what I'm saying. There is a hurdle that you have self-created as a show, and we would like to be able to get past that." Rather than be kindhearted and understanding about that, the producer held fast to the perceived gaslighting, next claiming that she did not think that their show "is the right fit for you guys." Later, she even went so far as to pretend that she had to "keep calming" Mark Henkel down. At that point, Mark Henkel calmly chuckled at the perceived gaslighting again and then he gently said, "I guess we are, unfortunately, near the end of this conversation." Less than 2 weeks after this interview, law enforcement raided the convicted criminal Warren Jeffs' FLDS community in Texas on April 3, 2008, taking over 400 children away. Mark Henkel had always opposed that criminal and expressed how much that normal UCAP families opposed Warren Jeffs and opposed the crimes he committed. The leading news cycle for months afterward was consistently about falsely stereotyping the false message as if polygamy was supposedly represented by those criminals. Hence, families in Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy (UCAP) were passionately relieved that nothing had been done or was even going to be done with the Oprah Winfrey Show because of this interview on March 21, 2008. By this interview and the way in which Mark Henkel successfully addressed the perceived gaslighting, UCAP polygamists had successfully dodged a bullet.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Melinda Morrison, for the Oprah Winfrey Show, on March 21, 2008. This is Part 1 of 2 parts. The producer was making a "circus act request," wanting open cameras to be used on families in their own homes. Bypassing the media request ticket system, the producer had directly called a confidential number to Mark Henkel. When she was asked about it, her unwillingness to be open about how her company had received the telephone number led to a perception of her gaslighting from the start. The Oprah Winfrey Show had aired previous episodes about "the dark side of polygamy" and Mark Henkel had regularly reached out professionally to the show to clarify that those spots were damaging to UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. Mark Henkel tried to help the producer understand, but the producer instead chose to insist that their show had been positive, and then she began what was perceived as even more gaslighting. Rather than hear Mark Henkel out and thereby learn how her show could heal the damage to UCAP polygamists caused by Oprah Winfrey's past shows (in order to then work together), the producer instead chose to falsely accuse him of being an "angry person." Considering how the FBI raid of the FLDS occurred less than 2 weeks later in Texas on April 3, 2008, UCAP polygamists were passionately relieved that nothing had been done or was going to be done with the Oprah Winfrey Show because of this interview. This Part 1 of 2 ends with Mark Henkel explaining how it is so dangerous for any meida to have portrayed and to then-still portray UCAP families as "the secret world of polygamy." What happened after that will be aired in the next episode of this podcast.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed (again) by Grant Cross, Development Producer for Jupiter Entertainment, on November 28, 2012. This was the second interview with this TV production company that produces series for networks, including TLC. In the first, more comprehensive interview two weeks earlier, the producer said that he would pitch Mark Henkel and the project. Mark Henkel thereafter kept trying to reach the producer for answer to that possibility. Once Mark Henkel reached him by telephone, the producer said that TLC had told his production company that they were aware of Mark Henkel, but that TLC was looking for someone who had specifically been a professional matchmaker for polygamists. TLC and his production company had concluded that there is no such person. When Mark Henkel replied by mentioning the polygamy personals site, 2Wives.com, the producer said that he had to go make a skype call. He asked Mark Henkel to call back “in one hour.” Mark Henkel was never able to reach the producer again, and the project never proceeded further.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Grant Cross, Development Producer for Jupiter Entertainment, on November 15, 2012. This was a TV production company that produces series for networks, including TLC. The producer said that his company was excited and seeking to create a new reality TV series of a matchmaking show for polygamists. The producer had seen the videos of Mark Henkel and realized that both Mark Henkel’s topical knowledge and animated presentation style could be a great fit as host for the show. The producer also acknowledged that Mark Henkel’s unique contribution to such a show as both on-air host and topical consultant could acknowledge/compensate Mark Henkel with both a “Talent credit” as well as “Consulting Producer credit.” The interview concluded with the producer ready to go pitch Mark Henkel and the project to his higher-ups and beyond. What happened next? That will be aired in the next episode of this podcast.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Colt Straub, a producer for The Idea Factory, on August 28, 2007. The company was a TV production company that produces "docu-series." They had created a past series for TLC and had the current interest of Bravo network, Sundance network, and more, for this project. In the Summer of 2007, Mark Henkel was receiving too-numerous "circus act requests" by the media, with many being quite hostile. For this reason, Mark Henkel was strongly protective of UCAP (Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy) families when this request was made. The producer presented himself positively and did try to make assurances that his company would be respectful toward the topic and would not be, as the producer called it, "exploitatious." Mark Henkel replied, "The question is whether it is going to be advantageous for us to do." Since there was never going to be any compensation to the families for risking their lives for participating in the show, Mark Henkel added that also, "It's pretty much whether we're willing to be your free cost of goods." The interview concluded as Mark Henkel said that he would "ask around" if any families in UCAP would be willing to do this project. Ultimately, as no families felt safe enough to do so, nothing else advanced further with this project.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on Bards Logic Political Talk, a 3-hour show hosted by Robert Jetter Jr. (this episode is Part 12) on August 4, 2021. The complete show lasted 3 hours long. For this podcast, the entire show has been subdivided into several parts. In this Part 12, which is the final part, Mark Henkel explained how this "larger issue" of "Imposerism" also helps the cause of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. This also includes some imprtant soundbites. The co-panelist asked Mark Henkel, "Do you believe socialism is forced compassion?" Mark Henkel replied, "No. I don't believe it's compassion at all." The co-panelist said that he loved that reply, positively laughed, and exclaimed that it was the best response he'd ever heard for that question. Mark Henkel went on to explain that he believes in the Individual - not the collective, not the majority, not the "borg" - saying that "socialism is a collectivism that crushes the Individual." Pointing out that "We are NOT a Democracy," he added the powerful sound-bite, “If I don’t think 70%, 80%, or even 90% of other people are smart enough to make a decision for my life, I sure do not believe that 51% are smart enough either.” He explained that his new term "Disimposerizing is a deeper level of kindness; and that deeper level of kindness is an even deeper level of love." He continued to say, "If I can help people see through the lens of Disimposerizing" - whether from the political LEFT or from the RIGHT - not only will people see how not to Impose on others for other issues, but they will understand how not to impose on UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy too. The co-panelist later friendly-teased Mark Henkel, "Are you trying to Impose polygamy?" The host interjected with a creative analogy of his own making, "No, it's an option. If you only want one of two cookies, you can still choose only one cookie." But others can be free to choose more. Mark Henkel affirmed that host's excellent analogy. The co-panelist re-iterated his interest in the "Imposerism" topic, and the host declared that he accepted both (saying, "I’m in for both") topics of liberty from Mark Henkel, both UCAP polygamy and the "larger issue" of self-removing one's "Imposerism." Both the host and the co-panelist stated how much they were looking forward to Mark Henkel coming back on the show to discuss the latter “larger issue” of “Imposerism.” This episode is the final part of this 3-hour interview.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on Bards Logic Political Talk, a 3-hour show hosted by Robert Jetter Jr. (this episode is Part 11) on August 4, 2021. The complete show lasted 3 hours long. For this podcast, the entire show has been subdivided into several parts. In this Part 11, after Mark Henkel introduced his own "other topic" called, "Imposerism," the co-panelist exclaimed, “Wow! Wow! Wow. This is interesting.” The co-panelist then brought up the question about bringing political debates and voting down to the States’ levels; Mark Henkel referred to that as "State Statism." They discussed the combination of the 9th and 10th Amendments to the US Constitution. Mark expressed those to be the most beautiful and most elegant parts of the Constitution that fully clarify the difference between Individual rights and government authority. The co-panelist mentioned something he called the "Goshen Theory" in regard to abortion politics – to bring debates like that down to town-level differentiations. Mark Henkel explained how, while "Disimposerizing" will not solve every issue such as this one, if both sides come to the table after having "Disimposerized," they will be more inclined to seriously seek to find a win-win solution. Mark Henkel then showed how both sides would currently perceive the abortion/pre-natal infanticide issue being an Imposition – a “conflict of Imposition.” Mark Henkel suggested that, by "Disimposerizing," we could realize that those who want abortion really just want "Baby no more;” so if our politics could find a scientific way to not have it be "Baby gets killed" to instead become "Baby gets re-located" (alive), then we could find a win-win solution in even that debate. Those who see it as pre-natal infanticide (that has been currently killing the baby) would be happy that babies would be no longer having their lives imposed upon by murder in their pre-natal lives. Those who see it as a "my body / my choice" perspective would be happy that their own lives were not being imposed upon by bans of abortion that otherwise would force them to carry babies past their pre-natal lives. The significant difference is that, by choosing to "Disimposerize," both sides would look for ways to not impose on the others, so that a win-win solution to our real and more difficult problems might be found. The co-panelist exclaimed, "Huh! You really gave me something to think here tonight about Imposerism." Mark Henkel used this as the preceding-setup for next explaining how this "larger issue" of "Imposerism" could also help the cause of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. That summarizing explanation, as the final part of this 3-hour interview, will air in the next following episode of this podcast.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on Bards Logic Political Talk, a 3-hour show hosted by Robert Jetter Jr. (this episode is Part 10) on August 4, 2021. The complete show lasted 3 hours long. For this podcast, the entire show has been subdivided into several parts. In this Part 10, Mark Henkel introduced his own "other topic" that the host wanted Mark Henkel to also bring up, "Imposerism." Segueing from the previous Bible discussion, Mark Henkel gave his opening soundbite, “The truth is that there is not one single example in the Bible – anywhere - of God ever needing the false god of big government to impose or enforce any of His doctrines. Government is not something we see God ever needing. I think God is capable of doing that which He will.” From there, Mark Henkel taught the process of his new trademark line, “Imposition Creates Opposition™,” how authoritarians on the Left and authoritarians on the Right are actually working together as the “2 sides” of the same one coin of “Imposerism,” what that term means, and how both sides exploit the Imposerism within each of us to give us the “current era of Imposer vs. Imposer politics” in which an Imposer always gets elected, no matter which side wins. With each new Imposition from either side creating more and more Opposition, this is why “our society is getting angrier and angrier.” Mark Henkel explained that the solution is for each of us to self-choose to remove our own Imposerism and to follow the “Reverse Double Negative Golden Rule.” This episode ends with a co-panelist exclaiming, “Wow! Wow! Wow. This is interesting.” More parts of this interview will air in the following episodes of this podcast.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on Bards Logic Political Talk, a 3-hour show hosted by Robert Jetter Jr. (this episode is Part 9) on August 4, 2021. The complete show lasted 3 hours long. For this podcast, the entire show has been subdivided into several parts. In this Part 9, Mark Henkel was asked to introduce his own "other topic" that had connection to this issue and other topics. A co-panelist named Kelly wanted to continue the discussion about the "one wife" verses. Mark Henkel explained that he would not listen to commentaries of the Bible any more than he would listen to commentaries about gun control and the 2nd Amendment. Mark Henkel said that, for us to study the issue, we have to go back to the originalism for both, to read for ourselves what the words actually written do actually mean. The co-panelist asked what impact that the ratio of men to women has on why we should have "one man one woman" for marriage. Mark Henkel explained that the real question to ask is, “What is the ratio of men-who-want-to marry-women to the number of women-who-want-to marry-men?” Mark Henkel reiterated his soundbite about the current era of dumbed down males, with marriage-phobic "playa" baby-daddies and abandoned single moms. He pointed out that, as more same sex marriages have been recorded with men than with women. same sex marriage further reduces the number of men-who-want-to marry-women from that more relevant ratio. The co-panelist began suggesting that chastity until marriage was the way for men to grow up and would heal marriages. The host strongly disagreed, saying it would set people up for failure. Mark Henkel noted how that would call for government to control the decisions of people, which he could not accept. That became a good point at which to segue to the related "other topic" that the host wanted Mark Henkel to also bring up. More parts of this interview will air in the following episodes of this podcast.
