In this episode, Heather and Chris from Killer Jobs podcast & Exploiting Vicki Tims podcast discuss Katherine Knight - the woman who ate her boyfriend.  She was the first Australian woman to be sentenced to life imprisonment without parole.  She was convicted for the murder of her boyfriend in 2001 after she stabbed him to death, skinned him, and then hung his skin from a meat hook in the living room.  She then cooked his head and other body parts and made a plate for each of his two adult children.  Katherine is currently serving her sentence at Silverwater Women’s Correctional Centre in New South Wales. Our theme music was created and customized by Nico Vettese of We Talk of Dreams.  You can follow him on IG (@wetalkofdreams)  and Twitter (@WeTalkofDreams).  Follow us on IG: @naturevsnarcissismFollow us on Twitter: @NvsNpodcastLike us on Facebook: @naturevsnarcissismJoin our discussion group: nature vs narcissism discussion group Support us on Patreon for cool perks and goodies for $1: https://www.patreon.com/NVNpodcastDonate one time via PayPal: [email protected]. This is part 2 of Season 2; Episode 1 where we are traveling to Anchorage, AK to discuss the 2nd serial killer. In this episode, Heather is joined by Danielle from the Hoosier Homicide podcast  to discuss Israel Keyes.  Israel committed his murders in several states including New York, Washington, Vermont, and of course Alaska. He claimed the lives of 3 confirmed but most likely 11+ victims.  He was apprehended in March of 2012 and enjoyed toying with police.  After 40+ hours of interrogations, Keyes decided to slit his wrists and hang himself in his prison cell.  He died at the age of 34 in December of 2012. WE ARE BACK FOR SEASON 2!We are traveling to Anchorage, AK and since we found 2 serial killers that we wanted to discuss, this will be part 1 of 2.  In this episode, Heather and Rachelle discuss Robert Christian Hansen (aka the Butcher Baker) - the guy who took "The Most Dangerous Game" and turned it into his hobby.  Robert committed his murders from 1971-1983 and claimed the lives of 17-21+ victims.  He was convicted in 1984 for multiple crimes including arson, assault, kidnapping, weapons offense theft, insurance fraud, murder, and rape.  He was sentenced to 461 years in prison.  He died at Spring Creek Correctional Center (Seward, Alaska) in August of 2014. In this episode, Heather and Rachelle discuss two crime/murder stories that occurred on turkey day.  In one story, you'll hear about a sister who uses the carving fork as a weapon!  In the second story, you'll hear about a man who just didn't want his wife's family in his house.  Unfortunately, the second one ends in murder - you've been warned.  RIP to the victims and may YOUR Thanksgiving end in full stomachs and laughter with family/friends!

I am releasing this episode to the main feed to see what you guys think about the Split Second series.  This is a series that I've started on Patreon and I would like to continue it as I have 3 episodes ready to be edited and posted.  I am thinking about changing the Patreon tiers so that more listeners can benefit from the extra content, prize giveaways, and no ads.  Please let me know what you think of this episode!THANK YOU SO MUCH, Scott of the Frozen Truth & Status Pending Podcasts for the intro and editing! As you may recall, I posted briefly on Instagram via the Whack-job Wednesday series about this guy a few months ago.  This case intrigued me as it was so close to home and everything changed in a split second.  I have always loved the outdoors and especially bike riding...so seeing that this is exactly how 20-year-old Sierah Joughin lost her life; my heart broke and my stomach knotted up.  Listen to this episode and let me know what you think about the twists and turns this case has.  You may be hearing another case in the near future that could potentially be linked.

Did you know that in Indiana (where this case takes place) under extreme circumstances, children as young as 10 years old can be tried and sentenced in adult courts?  The child that we will be discussing in this case remains one of the youngest EVER to be tried in this fashion.  In this collaboration, Heather and Warbaby (from the Murderous Minors: Killer Kids podcast) discuss Paul Henry Gingerich and Colt Lundy.  On April 20, 2010, Indiana; 12-year-old Gingerich and Lundy were at Colt's home in Cromwell, Indiana (which is about 2.5 hours NE of Indianapolis or 1 hour NW of Fort Wayne) with Colt's 49-year-old stepfather, Phillip Danner.  They decided that they wanted to steal Danner’s truck and drive to Arizona.  They determined that the only way to get away with it was to “take care of him [Phillip]”. How would they do this?  They shot him…with his own hand guns. In this collaboration, Heather and Lisa (from the Eye for an Eye podcast) discuss the tragic death of 16-year-old Cincinnatian, Kyle Plush.  He was reaching for a tennis racket that was located behind the seat in the back of his van when the seat collapsed, folding shut on the teen as he dialed 911 for help.  This story is so tragic because it seems as though he did everything in his power to get help to no avail.  He was discovered dead 6 hours later, in his vehicle, in the parking lot of his school. There was one positive outcome from this horrible tragedy though; check out www.kyleplushanswerthecall.org to see what the family is doing in his honor to create a safer community.  Promo for: Killer JobsPromo for: Swindled Support us & get cool stuff!https://www.patreon.com/NVNpodcastFind us on all the things:@naturevsnarcissism (Instagram)@NvsNpodcast (Twitter)@naturevsnarcissism (Facebook)Nature vs Narcissism Facebook Discussion GroupBUY COOL SHIT:https://naturevsnarcissism.threadless.com/

In this special collaboration episode, Heather teams up with Augie Peterson from the Short Stories of Augie Peterson podcast!  In part 1; you will hear about the case of Elizabeth Short, aka the "Black Dahlia".  This is found on the Nature vs Narcissism feed - well, would you look at that...you're already here!  In part 2; you will hear about the movie adaptation of the case...which apparently had nothing to do with the actual life and murder of Elizabeth Short.  In enough words...this movie was absolutely terrible and Augie has the review to back that up!  So, if you need a nice pallet cleanser after hearing about the absolute brutality of this case, then head on over to the Short Stories of Augie Peterson feed! Nicknamed "the Black Dahlia," Elizabeth Short was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 29, 1924. Twenty-two years later, Short, an aspiring actress, was brutally murdered in Los Angeles, California, her body cut in half and severely mutilated. Her body was found on January 15, 1947, in a vacant lot near Leimert Park. The Black Dahlia's killer was never found, making her murder one of the oldest cold case files in L.A. to date, as well as the city's most famous. When Heather Saul opened her Charleston, WV door to greet the stranger she’d agreed to meet through an escort ad she had placed, she knew instantly she was in mortal danger.  The man said just three words – “Live or die” – then held a gun to her stomach. The man grabbed Saul by the throat and dragged her around the house, until in a rush of pure adrenaline and an effort for self-preservation, she was able to get control of his gun and shot once, killing him. In this special collaboration episode, Heather sits down with Moxie from the Your Brain on Facts podcast to discuss serial killer Neal Falls.  Heather was an escort and Falls’ next intended victim.  That is, until she killed him instead…potentially saving dozens more. Falls is believed to have killed across 8 states and traveled with his kill kit in his car.  He would dismember the bodies and dump them in rivers as well as on the side of the highway.
