This is Part 2 of the Edmund Emil Kemper III case. For this episode, I have Brittany joining me to discuss our thoughts on the case as a whole as well as what we think is at play here. Was it nature? Nurture? A combination? Why?

We talked about how he was the assistant to his psychiatrist, how manipulative he was, and what Big Ed has been up to. We also discussed his relationship with his mother and sisters. We would love to hear your thoughts on this case and the dynamic that was at play. Please send us your thoughts/opinions.

Born as Edmund Emil Kemper III, on December 18, 1948 in Burbank, CA; he is known better as the co-ed killer who was responsible for the deaths of 10 individuals; 8 of them occurring between May 1972 and April of 1973. His parents; Clarnell Elizabeth Kemper and Edmund Emil Kemper Jr. had three children, of which Edmund was the only boy and the middle child. Although Edmund was caught and put in prison for his crimes in his mid twenties; he actually began murdering people in his adolescence.

For this episode, I tried to stick to the dates and the facts that we knew about him/his criminal life.
In part 2, We will delve more into our thoughts regarding his crimes and behavior. Additionally, we will discuss more about Edmund’s time in prison, the psychology aspect of him/his case, and interesting pop culture related to him/his case.

So, join us tomorrow for Part 2 - where Brittany (From Where The Weird Things Are Podcast) and I will do a deep dive discussion about the case, the people involved, our thoughts regarding nature vs nurture, and much more.

This is Part 2 of the Richard Speck case. For this episode, I have Brittany joining me to discuss our thoughts on the case as a whole as well as what we think is at play here. Was it nature? Nurture? A combination? Why?

We talked about the victim count versus perpetrator count and how/why Speck was able to kill 8 women, all by himself. We would love to hear your thoughts on this case and the dynamic that was at play. Please send us your thoughts/opinions.

Born as Richard Benjamin Speck, on December 6, 1941 in Kirkwood, IL; he is known for murdering 8 female students who lived together on the south side of Chicago. But that wasn’t the beginning of his crimes. As we’ve seen with all other cases; this was escalated behavior. Prior to these murders, he had been responsible for other acts of violence against his family and others. Additionally, Speck was pretty good at escaping the police…until he wasn’t. His talent ran out in 1966, after his killing spree, when he was captured two days later.
For this episode, I tried to stick to the dates and the facts that we knew about him/his criminal life. In part 2, we will delve more into our thoughts about his upbringing, his behavior, and his mental state whilst committing his crimes.

In this Extended episode for the $5 & up supporters; we discuss the fact that we’ve all wondered about criminal profiling and why criminals behave the way they do. That’s pretty much the premise of this entire podcast. Well, the FBI - Federal Bureau of Investigation, has an entire training division whose sole duty is to study and analyze. It is known as the behavioral science unit and is located at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

In this episode, we talk about the FBI’s creation of this unit, how the unit has evolved over the years, and the key players in the department. We also briefly delve into the key cases that played a huge role in the creation of the BSU.

We have decided to release this $5 & Up PATREON episode on the main feed as well; to kind of celebrate the fact that we will be in Austin, TX for the True Crime and Paranormal Podcast Festival August 25-27, 2023. We had a suggestion from a former Armed Services member; to cover crimes in the Armed Services. So, we brought you some staggering statistics and a couple of cases: Vanessa Guillen and Amanda Gonzalez. If you have more information about either of these cases, or have additional case suggestions; please let us know!
