Guest Cristael Ann Bengston went from her body into endless blackness — but then continued, ignoring pleas from her mother, as she journeyed toward the heart of God. She reports, “I am only a small part of me.”

An asthma pump, too late to prevent an NDE, enabled her to return with this knowing: we are not meant to live in fear and shame, and we are never separate from love. Even in our worst moments, God is always present with open arms.

At six years old, Nancy Clark’s best friends were spirit beings, invisible to others, but very visible to her. When lightning struck, those spirit friends stayed with her, guiding her into a life of healing others.

Biblical annotations can help make translated scripture understandable, and an IANDS Journal article by Marco Condorelli, PhD, points to the English Geneva Bible’s annotations from 1602 as speaking NDE. Could the annotator himself have had an NDE?

New Testament gospel scripture tells us less about the Other Side than many NDEs. Did Jesus not tell his disciples about Heaven, or were his stories of life reviews, mystic gardens, universal knowledge and the profound light of love get edited out when the Bible was assembled? In this encore discussion with James Bean, we explore other texts.

For most NDErs, a life review suffices to get things back on track in their lives. For others, a distressing NDE is a major gift – and a reminder of the Beatles song, The End: And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make.
