  • E38: Only Murders In the Building - Episodes 1 2 and 3 - Nine Perfect Strangers - Episode 5 - Sweet Surrender

This week's episode may be taking things into a stranger direction but for now the characters keep developing nicely. Sona and I are still not that enthused by the stalker plotline. Plus, I have read most of the book which gives me some additional insight (as in it's probably not a great adaptation)

We also review the first 3 episodes on the new very entertaining Only Murders in the Building show with Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. It's also available on FX on HULU.

  • E37: Nine Perfect Strangers - Episodes 4 - Plus - Cruel Summer and Clickbait on Netflix
Episode 4 is a good one. These performers are almost all giving it their all. I am still wary of the direction the show may be taking.
Plus we have time to talk about why I am about ready to quit Netflix after I get lured into the appropriately named Clickbait mini-series.
We also have time to talk about Cruel Summer. Sona really liked it and I find out that I probably don't have the constitution for teen soaps (even a potentially elevated one such as this).

  • E36: Nine Perfect Strangers - Episodes 1,2 and 3
Sona and I are back recapping another mystery. Nicole Kidman is running a spa and Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Bobby Cannavale and Regina Hall are just some of the recognizable faces here. This comes from the same brain trust as Big Little Lies and The Undoing so... the quality of the show could end up anywhere... but the scenery is beautiful.

  • E35: Loki Season 1 - Final Thoughts - PLUS : Invincible and The Suicide Squad Reviews

So DC is also still putting out movies. James Gunn migrates over from Marvel (Guardians of the Galaxy) to give us The Suicide Squad. He does a pretty good job of revitalizes the property. But (despite the success of the first film) does this property actually have that much appeal? I have mixed emotions.

Also, in preparation for the upcoming What If? series on Disney+, we have one final review of the Loki series.

Plus, thought on Amazon Prime's comic book adaptation offerings, Invincible and The Boys which are both scheduled to return sometime this fall with additional seasons.

  • S2Lo6: Loki - E6 - For All Times. Always.
Here we have it. We have arrived at the end. The puppet master is revealed and the resolution is... underwhelming... It does raise a lot of questions about what is to come and I am sure it will be conversation fuel until... Season 2 (?!?) yep, that's right. Plus a quick review of Black Widow.
Also, reviews of episode 6 of Rick and Morty, A Quiet Place 2.

  • S2Lo5.1: Loki - E5 - Deep Dive
In preparation for this week's Loki finale I speak to Ray again. He fills me in on all the Easter eggs that I misses (I missed most of them) and we lay out our predictions for the finale. Make sure to come back on Wednesday for my finale review along with my Black Widow review.

  • S2Ev3: Evil - Season 2 - Episode 3 and 4 - F is for Fire - E is for Elevator
We recap both of the most recent episodes of Evil and have time to do a pretty thorough review of No Sudden Moves on HBO Max. It turns out that Sona had never heard of the case of Elisa Lam which the most recent episode of Evil indirectly references.

  • S2M2: 1971 - The Year That Music Changed Everything

We discuss the new Apple+ documentary series "1971: The Year That Music Changed Everything". There was a lot of great albums released this year and we just discuss some of it... David Bowie... Al Green... John Lennon... George Harrison... (actually all the beatles put out albums). And of course What's Going On by Marvin Gaye. That doesn't even mention the ladies that were putting out classics, Joni Mitchell, Carol King, Aretha Franklin. The list goes on and on. There will be more discussions to come. This is only our first conversation.

The US vs. John Lennon (AppleTV - rental)

The Sacred Triangle: Bowie, Iggy & Lou 1971-1973 (Prime Video)

  • S2Lo5: Loki - E5 - Journey Into Mystery
Here we are... one episode away. Everyone is getting together at the end of time. But seems you can still escape with a TemPad. One of those could rescue a lot of these folks, it seems. It's not perfect but it gets us where we need to go.
Speaking of partying at the end of time, that is one of the main plotlines in this week's Rick and Morty. It's just an OK episode and there may actually be a social critique somewhere under there but you have to really dig to find it.
I also review The Tomorrow War and Fear Street 1984 (mostly spoiler free) but I am mixed to negative on Tomorrow War and VERY negative on the first Fear Street film. So that may be all you need to know.
    Bookmarks:
    Loki Episode 5 (spoilers) - 3:30
    Risk and Morty - Season 5 Episode 3 - 21:15
The Tomorrow War (Amazon Prime) - 27:00
    Fear Street 1994 (Netflix) - 34:30
