Jordan Peele Turned Down a Role in the New 'Scary Movie'

Modern horror maestro Jordan Peele recently revealed that he was approached for a cameo in the upcoming Scary Movie reboot, but ultimately turned the offer down. Given that the new installment is set to heavily spoof the recent wave of "elevated horror"—a subgenre Peele helped define with massive hits like Get Out and Nope—the Wayans brothers naturally wanted him involved in the joke. However, Peele politely declined, noting that while he has immense respect for the Wayans' comedic legacy, he prefers to keep his own horror universe separate and playfully admitted he didn't want to show up just to get brutally roasted by Brenda Meeks on the big screen.

Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' Earns an R-Rating

Following the trend set by his previous film, Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan's upcoming historical epic The Odyssey has officially been stamped with an R-rating. The article explains that the restrictive rating is entirely justified given the brutal nature of Homer's original source material. The film will reportedly hold nothing back when depicting the bloody, visceral reality of ancient Greek warfare, the horrific violence of mythological monsters like the Cyclops, and the legendary, gruesome slaughter of Penelope's suitors in the film's climax.
