This episode was a special one to me. I got to sit down with Ethan, one of my best friends for over 5 years. We have been through many ups and downs together and have both come out stronger. He has helped me through things that I didn't think I was going to get through and still helps me become a better man each and every day. That's all you can ask for in a friendship - generosity, honesty, and positivity. I wanted to pick Ethan's brain about how he keeps such a positive mindset, how he continues to grow, and how he has learned from the things he has gone through. His perspective is unmatched, I value his opinion because I know it will open my eyes to a new way of thinking about almost anything. We cover topics that have already been mentioned in previous podcasts, but the answers are completely different. I want you guys to listen intently to this episode because I think it will open your eyes to a new perspective. Ethan does not follow "the norm" of society, and that is one of the best things about him.

In this episode I decided to sit down with Griffin Shuler. I have known Griffin since I started working at the University Center at UCCS. Throughout my time there I watched many people develop skill sets that would help them later on down the road - there is no doubt that our jobs in the UC set us up for success. After a few years both Griffin and I found ourselves in a tough spot in life. I call it "the college letdown" - that weird time after graduation when you are waiting to start down a career path. I find this interesting because there is no doubt that Griffin is qualified for the positions he is applying for, as am I, but we never hear anything back. I wanted to bring him on to hear his perspective and reasoning to why we are at this point. He offers great insight and different ways to think about this slow process that many people I know are going through. If you are thinking about going to college, or you have a degree and are waiting for the next step, listen to this episode.

When I first started this podcast, one of the many topics I wanted to cover was leadership. So I decided to bring on a guest that laid the foundation for my leadership skills, work ethic, how I establish a culture and work environment, and many other skills that I use everyday. Taylor is one of those people that brightens up a room when he walks in. He always has a smile on his face, and always carries and passes along great energy. Taylor was one of my first superiors at my first job, and from that I think we have created a friendship that I want to hold onto. I consider him a mentor that I have looked up to from the moment I met him. As you can hear in the episode, I ask him pretty much anything that comes to mind because I know he will always be willing to help out, that is just the kind of person he is. We talk about international travel, daily habits, flow activities, leadership, fitness and nutrition, and many other things. If you guys are looking for an episode with both high entertainment and educational value, this is the one for you.

Jon Bodholdt (big Jon) is a person that I will always remember because of the impact he had on me in my early 20's. This podcast does not do justice when it comes to what kind of person he is. I will always thank All American Sports for introducing me to some incredible people. I had Jon on because I wanted to really figure out what makes him such a stand-up guy. As you can tell, I am very impressed with how he holds a positive outlook with everything that he does after everything that he has been through. He has faced more adversity that I can imagine and still goes out of his way to make sure that everyone around him is taken care of before himself. We talk about the foster care system, anxiety, education, and how to keep pushing forward when it seems like all of the cards are stacked against you. Jon was not prepared for most of the questions that I asked him (sorry Jon) but he answered them openly and honestly. This is a really great episode and I hope you enjoy it.

In this episode I got to sit down and catch up with one of my friends, Kimmie Beach. I met Kimmie my sophomore year while attending UCCS. A lot has changed since then, we are trying to figure out our lives one step at a time. Her perspective is unique and offers great insight on how to stay positive while everything around you is constantly changing. Change is hard, but Kimmie seems to embrace it and adapt with it, something I really struggle with. One thing I have always been aware of is how hard she works, trust me she walks the walk and is serious when it comes to her success. I aspire to have that kind of work ethic all while taking care of the people around me, something that is really difficult that she makes look easy. Hungry and humble - two words that perfectly describe Kimmie.

In this episode I got to sit down with one of my good friends Taylor McBroom. I really wanted to get to know Taylor on a personal level and figure out what drives him to be the kind, personable, and outstanding guy that he is. His answers were one's that I did not expect when I was coming up with the questions, as you can tell by my reactions. Taylor seems to approach everything he does in his life with a positive attitude and always goes out of his way to help others, something I think we all should learn. Taylor is a person that I will definitely keep in my circle for as long as I can, and I hope that you guys can apply some of Taylor's qualities to your life. "Life is beautifully hard" - and yes I did write that on the board in my room. It's all about perspective, right?

In this first official episode of Networth I got to sit down with one of my long time friends Christian Rodriguez. Christian is an accomplished personal trainer with over 7 different certifications. He trains clients daily and has had a handful of experience at only 24 years old. In part one I wanted to find out how he got his start, how he approaches a variety of clients, and how he sets these clients up for success. He is very goal oriented and his biggest piece of advice for anyone starting any journey in their life is to "find your why" - a very purposeful and intentional approach. He has some great advice for anyone starting to delve into the fitness world.
In part two I plan on asking Christian some more nutrition focused questions, actually breaking down what certain foods do to our bodies. Stay tuned.

Welcome to Networth. I am glad you guys are along for the ride. I wanted to give you guys kind of a backstory of me and why I started this podcast. The ultimate goal in doing this is to give all of us the opportunity to grow together. As I said, I am not qualified to give life advice, but I hope to give you the opportunity to take ideas on this podcast and make them your own to create your own success. This is my journal, so I hope that one day this grows into something that I can look back on as the start of my journey. I hope this inspires you to create your own documentation of your journey that you can look back on and realize how much you have grown.
I am serious about having you guys on here. If you are interested, give me a shout.
