Never Offside with Julie & Cat

Julie and Cat are joined by Chris & Lauren Pronger (10:15). They go back to the beginning and explain how they met, talk about the ups and downs of life in the NHL and their growth as a family. Lauren discusses her new book.. SUPERWELL... She explains how the idea for the book came about and why it was important for her to write it. Chris talks about making the jump into broadcasting, shares his opinion on Connor McDavid's contract and looks back at his viral photo with Justin Bieber. Julie starts the episode ranting about the many MLB champagne celebrations we see in October and the episode wraps up with the girls talking about their new social media venture. 

Julie and Cat are joined by Kourtney Turner, the wife of MLB veteran Justin Turner, she's also one of Cat's best friends. Turner talks about life in MLB, tells the story of how she met Justin and relives some very special memories of her time in LA with Cat. They chat about Ty and Justin's bromance and Ty's intense fandom of Justin's teams (wait until you hear the Red Sox story). Julie and Cat open the episode talking about their fantasy football matchup, the start of the NHL season, the friendly bet they made with Jaclyn Quick and a run-in with Stevie Nicks. They wrap the episode up abruptly as Julie got called into mom duty after receiving a call about an incident on the playground. 

Never Offside with Julie and Cat are back for Season 2 and they're joined by Nick Suzuki (9:50) to share some stories about his wedding, reminisce about the Canadiens 2021 Stanley Cup run and learn more about some of Nick's interests, including his love for scooters and trying new restaurants. The girls hold his feet to the fire with a Canadiens "yearbook", two truths and a lie and some quick shootout questions. They open the episode with a special reveal of the "BOBBLE BED" and wrap up by discussing the potential of Cat having a roommate once the season gets started. 

Julie and Cat are joined by Allie Schmidt (Nate's wife) to talk about the Florida Panthers epic Stanley Cup celebration, the parade, the winning culture in Florida and Nate signing with Utah shortly after the dust settled. She dishes on her husband's fashion choices, how she met Nate and why their son Harvey became a star during on the on-ice Cup celebration. Julie and Cat start the episode talking about free-agency and the Petry's upcoming adventure to Florida to join the Panthers. 

Julie and Cat close out the season with Emily Fee, wife of Florida Panthers assistant coach Myles Fee. They dive into all things Florida hockey. From Emily’s journey from New York to Sunrise, to the emotional ups and downs of watching games as a coach’s wife, and the day-to-day challenges of life in the hockey world. 

Emily also shares her memories of the Panthers’ Stanley Cup parade, their day with the Cup, and how special the Florida Panthers organization is. Julie and Cat close the show by reflecting on the season, thank the listeners, and chat about the mixed reactions from the handshake line between Florida and Carolina.

Julie and Cat are joined by Jeff and Ty... WOW! The foursome uncorked some wine and catch up, sharing memories from their years in the NHL, with a few fantastic stories sprinkled in. They answer a variety of fan questions, thanks to all those who submitted!!! They reminisce over some outlandish haircuts from the past, laugh about some of the best chirps they've heard on the ice and share some of craziest scenarios that you wouldn't believe. They pick a former teammate to prank and play a few games that lead to hilarity...  

Julie and Cat are joined by Gina Gostisbehere, the wife of Shayne, to talk about the Carolina Hurricanes trip to the Eastern Conference Final, pre-game tailgating and the vibes surrounding the wives of the team. Plus, she explains how life has changed since the recent birth of their son and why Shayne is in charge of the cooking in the household. Quick shootout questions cover everything from what Gina and Shayne are watching on TV to some of Shayne's quirks that Gina finds annoying. Gina also talks about their charitable ventures and their absolute love for animals. Julie and Cat start the episode talking about their Post Malone concert experiences and they wrap with a little spelling bee for Cat and reveal their upcoming plans for a special "Holiday" episode that will drop next week.

Megan re-lives her Game 7 experience, shares what this season has been like in Winnipeg and runs through some of the superstitious rituals that took form among the wives and girlfriends during the double overtime Jets victory.  Jesse checks in to talk about the wild white out atmosphere in Winnipeg and explain why the Jets is important to so many folks in Winnipeg. Cat starts the episode talking about her favorite story while Ty was playing in Winnipeg and the two close out the episode answering some very interesting listener questions. 

Julie and Cat are joined by Melissa Landeskog (6:40) to talk about Gabe's long road back to playing his first NHL game since 2022 and the excitement surrounding his return to the lineup in Colorado. She opens up about the difficulty of seeing her husband struggle to get healthy, the strain it put their family and the many setbacks he faced throughout rehab. She goes onto explain how his return was a "dream" and how she tried to make his first game back as memorable as possible. She goes onto explain how the support from the Avalanche has meant so much to the family, she talks about how her role with the team changed as Gabe rehabbed and how special the group of wives in Colorado is. Julie and Cat start the episode with a debrief on WillMack's appearance and they wrap it up on some of their favorite playoff jackets making the rounds.
