While scams have been around for what seems like forever, there's been a MASSIVE increase in phone and text scams during the pandemic.

Recent reports from the likes of INTERPOL, Europol and the FBI have shown massive increases in crime since the pandemic began.

In Ireland, the messages are regularly claiming to be from the likes of Revenue, Department of Social Protection and banks.

Research from Bank of Ireland has found that 61% of participants have received a fraudulent call, text or email claiming to be from their bank.

To understand how these scammers target us, how they're so believable and how to avoid falling for them, Bank of Ireland have teamed up with leading Irish cyberpsychologist Dr. Mary Aiken.

Dr Aiken joined Dermot and Dave with her tips on avoiding the scammers, and why 'never trust, always verify' is the motto we all need to remember.
